Well our 2nd caravan trip did not go as well,we went to Pitlochry and when playing catch with the kids June fell and fractured her elbow.

Ouch!

In 2017 my son fell at the playground at school and fractured his elbow (days before the Easter holidays). A few weeks later my daughter fell down at the soft play and fractured hers in the same place.

Kinda glad that these happened in public spaces. Imagine if they had both happened at home - the police would be taking a hard look at me.

Youngest granddaughter is waiting on an ambulance to take her up to the Royal in Belfast, as she has kidney failure.

They are going to try her with dialysis to see if her kidneys are working at all, hopefully dialysis will work, but she might have to go on a kidney transplant waiting list. I suppose one step at a time and see how it goes.

I've settled a wee bit now, I had her dead and buried 45 minutes ago.

She's been in hospital this last 4 days, last night one of the options given to her mother was take her home, fortunately she refused.

You've had a hell of a worrying time of it over the last week, can only hope things improve for the wee one.

Awful, awful news. Here's hoping for some positive news. Transplants can be incredible, so fingers crossed for the wee one.

Transplant is a wee bit down the line, it was just a consequence of her kidneys failing completely that a transplant would be necessary, she should be in Belfast by now, the ambulance was leaving Craigavon about 3.30.

Dialysis is the first option and take it from there, just waiting for more news.

She was snap chatted to her granny just before they left (for Belfast) and I wish I hadn't looked in, she looked absolutely awful.

On a drip, running tests, poison got into her kidneys, (a variant of E coli), specialist says it could be days  or weeks of care, condition will change daily, but it could be life threatening. (Maybe they just tell you that to keep themselves covered.)

Best of luck mate. Management of renal failure has improved hugely in the last 10 years. If they're onto it early you should be optimistic about avoiding transplant.

Best wishes to everyone involved.

My daughter had kidney problems as a young child. Turned out that her ureters between kidney and bladder were not properly connected so every time she done a pee, half of it just spilled out inside her. Spent almost 2 years in and out of the hospital until she was big enough for an operation. When they took her down I was convinced that I would not get her back. Her operation lasted for hours and she looked like she had a c-section.

24 hours later I was running down the ward pushing a drip trolley behind her whilst she was tearing about on a little tricycle, non the worse for what she had been through.
Although her kidney function has been lessened, she has not had any problems since. She is now 27 with 2 kids of her own.

Thanks to all.

They seem to have arsed around for the guts of a week before going down the kidney failure route, but I'm getting all this third hand through my wife via my stepdaughter who's in a bit of a state, understandably, so I may not have the definitive picture.

All I know is I'd rather it was me wired up to the machines and her running around with her serious face on as she observes everything.

Fingers crossed for you all, wishing her a speedy recovery mate 🤞

Got a slightly damp nappy off her so the kidneys must be working to some extent, so that's good.

Getting a blood transfusion later, something low in her bloods.*

*ETA: Sorry to be so vague, maybe get more details later, but she's battling on.
