  1. I think that it will not be so long before the Amateur Leagues will form a nominal Tier 9 of the Pyramid. This is where in my view problems will appear as many of the top clubs of the 5 Feeder Leagues in the East of Scotland (see below) will show little interest in progression. - Border AFA - Kingdom of Fife AFA - Lothian & Edinburgh AFA (Saturday) - Perthshire AFA - Stirling and District AFA Some people may argue that a feeder system is pointless given the gap in basic facilities between the EOSFL and the Amateur Leagues. The answer may be to form an EAST OF SCOTLAND PREMIER AMATEUR LEAGUE of around 10 clubs which can serve clubs with better standard facilities and ambition to progress. The 5 Amateur Leagues can then join the Pyramid at Tier 10 if they wish. Key questions: How should the pyramid system operate for the EOSFL Feeder Leagues? What clubs would be candidates for inclusion in an EAST OF SCOTLAND PREMIER AMATEUR LEAGUE? - Alva AFC (S&DAFA)? - Bo'ness United Juniors (ERJFA)? [may be able to move directly to the EOSFL when BU are in the LL] - Cupar Hearts AFC (KoFAFA) / AM Soccer Club AFC (KoFAFA)? - Duns AFC (BAFA)? - Hawick Waverley AFC (BAFA)? - Kelso Thistle AFC (BAFA? - Letham AFC (PAFA)? - Leven United AFC (KoFAFA)? - Linlithgow Rose Community (ERJFA)? - Sandys AFC (LEAFA)? - Sauchie Community (ERJFA)? - Selkirk Victoria AFC (BAFA)? - Syngenta Juniors (ERJFA)? - Tollcross Thistle AFC (LEAFA)? + ambitious Youth Clubs Amateur Leagues - Directory of Clubs 1. 2. As reported in the Edinburgh Evening News the majority of Junior clubs wish to join the senior pyramid system. There will now be an egm called by the SJFA to vote on the issue. The pressure is now on the clubs to decide but this could mark the end of Junior Football as we know it. If a substantial number of the bigger clubs decide to vote to leave the others may be forced to follow or be left in what will amount to lower standard football. Like it or not change is now on the cards.
  3. Given the ongoing situation whereby Banks O'Dee can't progress within the 'pyramid', it is important that the SFA forms a North of Scotland Senior League. I would suggest that the pyramid below the Highland League, should be established on the following basis : (1) the best/most ambitious North Region Junior (10) clubs be invited by the SFA (after full consultation) to form a new feeder NoS league for teams in the east & south of the Highland Region (2) the "expanded" North Caledonian League be given equal feeder league status, by incorporating its existing 8 clubs in the north & west of the Highlands plus Inverness City (ex NCL member club), and AN Other west/north club (3) the champions of each of the above leagues to participate in an end of season Playoff to determine the Northern Champions, who (if the club is SFA licensed) would be promoted to the Highland League, replacing the bottom HFL club. (It should NOT be compulsory that these clubs obtain an SFA licence, meaning that only teams that wish to progress to the Highland League, could do so). The above would complete the Pyramid in northern Scotland, whilst recognising that for geographical & financial reasons, this vast area needs to have two feeder leagues of equal status.
  4. It's back. Contain your excitement. Pyramid playoffs are on the same format and dates as last season. Bookies have Montrose and East Stirlingshire as joint favourites to finish bottom. Brora widely forecast to retain HL... Edinburgh City, East Kilbride and Gretna tipped for LL. 5. How refreshing it is to have a season beginning where, finally, a form of promotion/relegation is available into and out of the Scottish League. Long-awaited. Both the Highland and Lowland leagues have issued their fixture-lists, so it seems like the arrangements are as follows - going by these links: http://slfl.co.uk/2014/07/season-201414-fixtures/ http://www.highlandfootballleague.com/News/Item/433_SHFL_Fixtures_for_Season_2014-15.aspx Early tip for the drop? Early tip to come up?
  6. ...The LL members who were deficient in licenses, has that been sorted or if so what are the deadlines for that? ...Assuming all parties retain their position in the LL, when will the new members be announced? ...Will there be relegation from the LL? Or is that dependent on licensing? ...What happens if the Juniors agree to a pyramid? Will they file in at the lowest available opportunity? Probably at EOS/SOS Level (This was my understanding) Just curious as I love the idea of a pyramid and allowing teams to find their level on the park.
