  2. A wonderful win for the mighty Jags yesterday and as I was unable to attend I came here to read all about it, and Sir Kris Doolan's 100th League Goal in a crucial game which gives us the torture of renewed hope of (an undeserved) escape... but there seems to be no match thread at all, despite the importance to both teams and the emotion of the Lambie Derby occasion for both sides. How odd. Surely no one's taken a huff because of the result? No one who supports a relegation-threatened team could be that childish and thin skinned?? Anyway, well done Thistle - I see McCarthy played rather than Osman and Devine was also benched. Better late than never, Archie...
  3. A guaranteed point and a day out in the capital. What’s not to like?
  4. Looking forward to our trip North. Hopefully the break for the International unpleasantness will have recharged the players batteries as we seek our first points of the season. Thankfully we won't be facing an MOH or a Ryan Christie quality of player and this is a game Thistle must be looking to win (or not lose). Doolan, Erskine and Lawless relish a game against the Staggies and I think Sammon has scored a few against them in his career. My main concern is in midfield, where Bannigan needs to cut out the brain farts and stick to what he does well. Ive really now idea how well line up. Could be a 5-3-2/ 3-5-2 or the old 4-2-3-1. I always enjoy a journey up to Dingwall, the return trip is shite if we get beat though, so fingers out Thistle and bring dem points home. Thank you.

  6. After a couple of great results we welcome Aberdeen to Firhill for some Friday night football. On telly so may have an impact on the attendance but should still be plenty of visitors to make for a decent atmosphere. With no change in the players available we'll continue with 5/3 at the back. Not sure if Archie may tinker with the formation to allow more creativity? Aberdeen look unlikely to be winning the league but won't want to take the foot off the gas as they'll be wanting to regain second place. So a tough game awaits the Jags. I'd be happy with a point but you just never know with this team!
  7. An unispiring home fixture kicks off our 2014/15 season. Preseason has been low key at best and we find ourselves facing a County side who have apparently greatly strengthened their squad. Thistle have two confirmed signings to date but may have one or two new faces in for Wednesday. Hard to predict our line-up as Archie has rotated the squad over the last few weeks. More questions than answers at the moment. Fox or Gallacher? Balatoni and Muirhead? SOD or McMillan? McMillan or Keenan? Ossie and Stevenson will start but will Stevenson play behind Doolan or will they get in each other's space? Not sure if we'll even go 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3/ 4-3-2-1? I guess we'll find out soon enough. C'mon the Jags!
