  1. .......................without Dowds, we need to maximize our goal threat, therefore it has to be Murphy and Chalmers.
  2. The year is 2049 and Ayr United are delighted to announce the signing of 19 year old Nigel Nobody from South of Carlisle FC. Nigel was on the books of Around London FC as a youngster. Nigel becomes the twelfth summer signing as we look ........................
  3. Not really. I'm saying that we don't enter a new season with 10+ unknown Project Players IE Pendlebury, but with 4 or 5 quality signings IE Murphy.
  4. Good. We need to get to a point where minimal incoming players are quality additions, rather than a wholesale influx of 'projects'
  5. Did you see how far up the park the NI goalkeeper blootered the ball at By-Kicks. ................................Let's give that a wee go.
  6. More so Queens Park than Ayr United. You are referring to Sean Welsh's Red Card. Well, in his last game for ICT at Somerset Park he should have been sent off. No Question. So much so that he was immediately substituted. Loosing 'senior' referees to Premiership VAR is having a far worse impact on the Championship......
  7. There were initial discussions several years ago to run some trial games ( low risk ) at which alcoholic beverages could be sold within grounds.
  8. That is what I like about Musonda, he doesn't panic. His composure / belief emanates, and I belief we are a better team with him in it, somewhere.
  9. Unlikely I know, but a small switch from 4-2-3-1 to 4-4-2 and play Amartey up front, with NO defensive midfield duties. Alongside McKenzie with Bryden / Willoughby off the bench. A degree of nuisance value / awkwardness and frightening pace in attack.
  10. We lost our complete roster of midfield players in the space of 3 days earlier in the Season. No sign of Murdoch's return on the Horizon either, one of the leagues most accomplished operators, so I think we've taken our turn. As Saturday progressed we covered places 5th to 9th, 'As it Stands' Hold on Tight, its going to be a bumpy ride.
  11. IMO We should look to hold, and try and release Amartey from deep 4-1-4-1 / 4-5-1: IE Maidstone at Portman Road. Dowds Amartey Dempsey Syla Chalmers Musonda Reading McGinty Stanger McAllister Albinson
  12. No, I clearly described it as a 'tussle', I am implying that Middleton was fortunate, and Stanger, unfortunate. On any other day Stanger stays down and receives treatment, Middleton gets a straight red. The afters/handbags where conducted by McAllister and Moult, neither of whom got booked.
  13. Point of reference. If Dundee United are allowed to 'get away with it' they will have no problems winning the league. Both players received a booking for this 'tussle'. Stanger went on to receive a stupid yellow for dissent, whilst Sibbald didn't even receive a talking to for 5+ Deliberate / Professional Fouls.
  14. Travelling Teams and Fans should be a consideration, and the weather they have to pass through to get to the game.
  15. Listened to Burnley Chairman Alan Pace on Radio Scotland this Morning, sounded familiar........... Burnley agree partnerships with Ayr United, Llandudno, Portadown & Cobh Ramblers - BBC Sport After a couple of reciprocal visits, it all added up to the square root of not very much.
  16. Exactly this. Has been discussed many times at Hampden, but whilst we continue to run cap in hand to the TV companies we will have to live with small leagues. Serial Diddy European Adventure Clubs also continue to purchase anonymous 'world' talent with the above revenue, therefore providing NO benefit to the Scottish game. Ayr United Football Academy - UEFA Award
  17. Some absolute bellends on there. They walk among us. I'll bite. My friends, these are Halcyon Days. Compare the current Position with losing Three (3) home games in a row against Cowdenbeath shipping 10+ Goals in the process. Having to look forward to ANOTHER away game in Angus. Tying to remember the last time we had a Striker who was genuinely sought after. Was searching for highlights of Saturday and came across this cracker from 19 December 2015, ................................." bring back 'Uncle Ian " aye right. Lots of people upset over the way the last season ended, and havn't had that purged from their system, by anything visualised on the Park, as yet. Like most discussions these days opinions are very polarised, and that is evident on here and in the SRE.
  18. Booked @ 3.12 for lashing out at McMillan. Send Off @4.20 for halving Nevin
  19. "I cast you out, unclean spirit " "Be gone from this creature of God. Be gone, in the name of the Father and of the Son, and the Holy Spirit. With This sign of the holy cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit." "Be Gone, from this creature of God " "Be Gone, In the Name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit "
  20. Unfortunately the people who know this, and appreciate it, are the ones who attend on a 'very' regular basis. IMO Ayr United have lost a whole generation of Support, which looks as if it is being addressed. I recall that The Honest Men Trust carried out such a survey, over a decade ago, which received 'File 13' treatment.
