  1. Was going to post something similar myself but thought it would come over as sour grapes. It maybe just shows our acceptance of expected defeat these days too that nobody had mentioned it previously? It seemed to me that McHugh jumped for the ball in an awkward fashion which made it look like he had been fouled as he fell; I couldn't see Muirhead touching him at all. No Morton player claimed for it I don't think either which means that our defenders should have been going mental at the award. None of them did; just simply meekly accepted the decision instead which I think says it all. Whilst our performance turned out to be shite (had been ok up until then) it may have turned out differently if the penalty hadn't been given?
  2. I agree. I get the impression with him that he's simply lost due to others under performing rather than his own shortcomings. I think he's got huge potential and would much rather we got the benefit of it rather than possibly another team in the same league.
  3. Was anyone at the development game last night? How did Loy play, did he look interested and put in the effort or just going through the motions? Who was the trialist? Ta
  4. Nothing at all wrong with scouting players from the juniors or lower leagues because the odd diamond can occasionally be found. The vast majority however are playing at those levels for a reason so I wouldn't be expecting us to fill our squad with them. Having said that, we don't have much (any?) cash, so the signing policy will have to be very carefully thought through.
  5. I generally agree with you as I do think there was plenty of endeavour on show on Saturday. Like many games this season we had more possession, shots etc but not the quality required to create enough and score goals. There are certain players however who let their heads drop far too easily and it has an adverse affect. I'm thinking of the likes of McKee, Harris, Gallagher, Hippo, Fash & Craigen. If it's not going well they do have a tendency to hide a bit.
  6. Nobody really knows WTF is going on but, if it's not sorted soon it could ultimately kill our club!
  7. Harkins couldn't believe his luck today with the amount of space he was getting. He's a good footballer so he should be closed down at the 1st opportunity. Tawio would have done that I think.
  8. Noo I'm no convinced that everyone was kidding!
  9. McGhee? Look at what we paid for Craigen FFS!!
  10. Do you know how much we paid? I believe that Partick were looking at Hippo at one point and may have been willing to make an offer. That may have been our best outcome?
  11. I wouldn't be too upset with Hippo going as he's turning into a bit of a luxury player who gives us maybe one good game in 5. It's looking difficult to get any sort of consistency out of him. If Hartley can't get to the root of Loy's problems and get him going again it may be better for both parties that he moves on. He's obviously not the committed guy that we had previously when his work rate was fantastic, in fact he used to piss me of at times because he was often charging about all over the place to get involved. Not so now. IMO though Austin would be worth keeping. To me he just looks a bit lost at the moment however I still think he looks the most dangerous of our forwards but definitely needs a good experienced partner playing beside him. Hopefully that can yet be Rory Loy.
  12. Fair to say you're not happy then? Give it until the end of next season and you won't have to worry about it!
  13. Should've used a question mark, not a full stop.
  14. Aye, because that's what I said - not! I said I would be happy to have him back but that I don't think he's what we need just now. I think we need someone in the middle of the park that can take the game by the scruff of the neck and drive the team on, A bit like Kerr but with legs and a forward passing brain. There's a guy playing with Rotherham at the moment that would fit the bill but I don't think we can get him! Unfortunately we can't just sign Alston for nothing and it's obvious that we can afford very little at the moment so, IMO, we need to be looking at a different type of player, assuming of course that we have the funds to sign anyone at all. Alston for me also is the type of player that would be adversely affected by the malaise surrounding the team currently rather than the type that would help drag us out of it so we'd possibly end up with yet another player with a mysterious loss of form!
  15. I'd be happy to see Alston back but I don't think he's what we need at the moment.
  16. I think you've misunderstood; they're not blind, they're all fans of the Man Utd defender.
  17. Who? Only one that we sold that I can think of who's come back up the road is Higginbotham. Taylor (who's since gone back down again) & Biabi on loan as well but can't think of anyone else. Who is my befuddled auld brain missing?
  18. There's clearly no evidence therefore they need to go and find some from somewhere.
