  1. Harris couldn't have meant that. I reckon he saw one of our guys coming in to tackle him so he just belted the ball away as hard as he could. It would only be after he looked up that he realised he was facing the goal at the time !
  2. Because it's a personal choice which is very possibly heavily loaded with nostalgia, just like mine was.
  3. Given that McKinnon was unhappy with the fitness levels and as he's introduced a tougher training regime there may well be something in that.
  4. I'm sure that Parker & White would be included in any team of those old enough to have seen them a few times.
  5. How very dare you!! (1) Donaldson, (never seen Wigham play) (2) S Kennedy, (3) McLaughlin, (4) Markie, (5) Miller, (6) Gibson, (7) McAllister, (8) Latapy, (9) El Alagui, (10) Stainrod, (11) Shirra. Loved Farid's attitude and rapport with the fans and, of course, Cunningham as manager.
  6. I'll see your Brendan McIntyre and raise you a Terry Mullen!
  7. Probably, but I would have expected their fitness levels to be better by now considering that both have already appeared in the team. Unless they've sustained further injury since of course?
  8. Aye, I wouldn't expect to see a manager publicly saying that this or that player aren't good enough, at least not one with any sense anyway! I think it's probably obvious with TOE & Turner however I'd love to know what the problem is with Russell & Greenwood.
  9. TOE, Turner, O'Hara and very possibly Russell & Greenwood although I don't agree with the last two as they both seemed to offer something in the limited game time that they've had. From my own point of view I'd like to see Fasan, Paton & Haber away and also possibly Dallison with McGhee now available and Brough and Buaben able to play in CD. I think Lewis has shown that he can give McKinnon something to work with and I'd like to see how Sammut would perform alongside Buaben. Of course I'd like to see the back of all of them if we were in a position to bring in the Messis & Ronaldos of this world but given that finances are obviously going to be stretched I'd be happy to keep those not mentioned to form a squad while bringing in as many first choice options that we can afford.
  10. I assume that you weren't there given your location but it looks like McKinnon's going to play a defensive formation looking to hit on the break with the pace of Lewis and Petra and I think that'll continue on Saturday. There's definitely the potential for goals in the team so I think the crucial aspect on Saturday will be the performance of the defence and defensive midfielder whoever that may be. Hopefully McGhee rather than Paton assuming that Bauben's not going to be ready yet.
  11. What do you think of the Bauben signing? What about the display on Saturday?
  12. I think Robson's as a good a defender as Brough TBH and is better going forward (although Brough's not too bad at that). Brough tried to clear a ball on Saturday and ended up skying it before it landed in the middle of the box.
  13. And I'll tell you another thing; Shodwall Dog/Cat is all over our threads like a rash to tell us how shite we are. Every single day. What have we heard from him since we managed to get an unlikely win? f**k all. And, just before EB red dots me again, I should explain that I don't think we're very good, in fact we're at a very low ebb currently. I do however appreciate the difference in some very ordinary players since RM came in and feel that some of them can improve a bit further. I'm more confident of escaping the drop now than I was at this time last week although there's a very good chance that the despair may have returned again by this time next week! Time will tell. I'm generally not a very positive person either, folk that know me will say that my glass is nearly empty most of the time.
  14. Thanks very much Edibairn, I expected nothing less!
  15. Have a look at who liked this post then go and have a word with yourself ffs!
  16. Big Petal Rennie was on the terracing too! Asked him if he had his kit with him but he said he didn't think things had gotten that bad yet!
  17. Aye, me as well. From Bonnybrig' originally and left Denny High in 1975. There were a few Bairns fans among us including Big Gordon McFarlane who many will know as Mr Falkirk due to the tireless work he put in for Falkirk over the years, the vast majority of which was voluntary!
  18. There are a few players out there who are far better than anything we have currently, we just wouldn't be able to afford them though. I'm thinking the likes of Gordon Greer, Russell Martin, Steven Caulker, Paul Caddis & Zander Diamond. Ross Wallace signed for Fleetwood just the other day too.
