  1. Donald Findlay in today's Record: "The clubs who are opposing Rangers going back into the SPL are being narrow minded. The stance is payback for Rangers for the arrogance of their success of a number of years because there is always a lot of envy towards a team who continue to win". So, nothing to do with not paying £10m of taxes, double contract for over a decade or walking away from £100m+ of debt then. Glad we've cleared that up Donald. The only arrogance I can see is from Rangers who still seem to think they can do whatever the f**k they want and everyone else can like it or lump it.
  2. Plenty of bites on this one (and I'll join in)! No doubt he'll be on "The List" as well now.
  3. That isn't a reason not to ask the question though. I'm sure there are loads of us whose ex-employers are never done bugning wads of cash into our bank account a decade after we left the company.
  4. I'd love to know why no one appears to have asked Graeme Souness why he was getting £30k from Rangers ten years after he stopped working for them (and the alleged rest). If a person left a job and became an MP, then ten yesrs later got a payment from his former employer, the press would all over it and would hound the MP until they resigned.gave answers. Yet the press don't seem awfully keen to chase up most of the stories that fall out of this story.
  5. I was under the impression PAYE/NI are meant to paid to HMRC by the 19th of the month following the month in which the employee was paid, ie anyone who receives a wage between the 1st and 31st May should have their PAYE/NI sent to HMRC by the 19th June. Happy to be corrected if I'm talking bollocks.
  6. Because they were never worth £111,000,000. The values were hopelessly over-inflated to make Rangers appear solvent when they up to their eyeballs in debt.
  7. Would it perhaps be the audited accounts they need rather than the approved accounts? If it's just the audited accounts you could lodge (no pun intended) them at Companies House/SFA/SPL and notify the shareholders of the AGM date on the same day, although there would be a 21 day wait for them to be formally approved by the shareholders.
  8. The European Court isn't like Cash Convertors....you don't get a decision in minutes from them. It would take years to get a decision from them, too long for Rangers.
  9. Talk about shitting on your own doorstep? Having already stiffed Hearts, Inverness CT & Dundee United for transfer fees/gate money, they've now embarked on a course of action that could see Celtic, Motherwell, Hearts, Dundee United and St Johnstone all papped out of Europe. And then they're going to ask these same clubs, amongst others, to vote them straight back into the SPL?
  10. Traynor had a dig at Spiers in the Record this morning, although he refuses to actually use his name, rather like the childish way Gery McNee used to refuse to refer to Paul Gasgoine by his name.
  11. That's been out for a couple of months, the Channel 4 guy I think. Chic Young said at first CO hadn't got anything from an EBT, the next day Co admitted he had, Chic then described the sum as "no more than you would spend on a good night out". CO got £90k.
  12. Don't think it's as much as that, I think Hampden is around the £100k mark for a re-laid pitch, although there could be other work done at the same time (upgrading drainage or the likes) which could push the cost up.
  13. Just read that as well, what a nonsense. Journalists are so lazy and used to filling up their back pages with 99.9% nonsense transfer stories, that even when Rangers have been banned for a year, and lodged a failed appeal, they still print this sort of crap. I also see Rangers have fixed up their first pre-season game - in Belgium! Good to see they're being careful with their (or is it taxpayers?) money

  16. The security at Hampden for the Olympics will be night and day from your average football match, try anything there and I'm sure they'll regret it. And comparing themselves to the suffargettes and the jews in nazi Germany, good to see they're keeping things in perspective.
  17. Fourth longest serving manager bites the dust today, Brian Reid departs Ayr United. Edited to add: Mark Roberts has been appointed in his place, Ayr not hanging about!
  18. Pretty sure HMRC are already over 25% thanks to Mr Whyte's non payment of PAYE and NI for nine months.
  19. Wonder if they would pass David Murray's "sniff test"? The sort of comment that would get a politician hounded until they resigned but it's ok for DM to say it.
  20. From that: Em, isn't that what you've been doing for the last decade with your tax dodging EBT's?
  21. D&P have done their job, get them through to the end of the season. Now they are free to pull the plug. Go on, you know you want to.
  22. If nothing's been proved, why are Rangers appealing to the FTT to get HMRC's decision re the EBTs overturned?
  23. Indeed, but Gretna were bust weeks before the season ended, the SPL didn't want to deal with the aftermath of a liquidation so advanced them cash to get them to the end of the season before saying "your problem SFL".
