Yup I agree, Murray and Watson having a go at Big Kev for the entirety of the match . The first Morton goal was unavoidable, the second the defence sold him out. Kev just needs to learn to take charge of his 6 yard box. He will get better.

I appreciate that you're trying to stand up for the 'keeper but he'll be disappointed that he didn't keep their first goal out.

It was straight at him, he's flat footed and he's gone with his trailing hand.

  2. Definite dive from Vaughan. I thought that yesterday from about 100 yards away but the highlights confirm it.

I suspect Morton would have kicked f**k out of us anyway but the sense of injustice at the first penalty award just exacerbated the problem.

Excellent cross and header for Morton's first goal but I feel that Dabrowski goes for it with the wrong hand.

Also, the wee ball boy at Vaughan's pen... 😆

Yes tells us the refs don't  like us much.  However I'm sure your players just got a yellow for  headbutting one of our players . Also If you own admittance stated probs half were not yellow worthy then your 11 don't stack up. Weirdo

I wish Google Translate had a 'seething weegie' option.

Morton were an absolute gang. Trying to hack, dive and manipulate the ref on their way to a result.

Pleasing that it got them absolutely nowhere.

Anyone know the reasons behind Sam Stanton only being allowed back on the pitch when the ball was out of play, but later in the game Stuart Finlay was waved straight back on during play ?

I didn't see the game, but going by the pictures I've seen might it be that the ref would have to check that the bandaging was appropriate?

Programme resurrected for those that like that sort of thing.

Plenty of good writers and genuinely funny Rovers supporters on P&B that would make good contributions.

I think that, while the club is making great strides with their slightly cheekier social media output, it would be good to see the programme follow suit.

Obviously nothing that'd get the club in bother but perhaps a wee bit more risqué.

  6. I think it depends on how well the artificial pitch is maintained.

I've played on some really good ones (Stark's Park) and some really bad ones (Ochilview) and some in between.

Came off the bad ones feeling like I'd been running and turning on a hard surface for the duration of my game which isn't good for the old knees and ankles.

Saying that, our injury list at the Rovers is often horrific so there may be something in it...

If I remember rightly (or I could just be making this up), there was a delay re-starting after that goal because the poor ref went over to get the players back and ended up getting poked in the eye with the corner flag!

It wasn't the corner flag, it was a supporter who mistakenly poked the ref in the eye when he ran on the pitch to celebrate the 50yd wonder goal.

I'll not name him on here but he rhymes with Vario Dalente.

Not sure anyone is saying that exactly, and I think everyone is aware that it's difficult to find the right players in that position currently.

And yeah, starting competitive football in July isn't ideal for the purposes of building squads. I don't think it's "because its Dunfermline" in the cup, its because it's the hardest Pot 3 team you could get in a fixture that basically decides if we will continue in the cup and the income that would bring which is surely important.

As it stands, our defence looks no better than the start or last season: Watson is a higher pedigree than Lang or Nolan, and a bit younger than Berra who was the one available  back then and a better player still but a fair chunk older.

We are also starting without either of our natural midfield pivots.

Is Masson up to it? Is Corr? Its not inconceivable that we will end up with those two as a starting duo which is far less than ideal.

I dont doubt that a lot of work had been done in recruitment so far, but it's undeniably frustrating for fans, and likely even kore so for the club to be back to trying to plug holes in a half existent defence.

It's where we are. To read some comments you'd think that the club isn't actively trying to bring improvements in.

As said above, folk are only getting jumpy because it's the Pars first. If it wasn't the case, folk would be content with having the additional three weeks to bring in the right player/s.

We're not at full strength but can still put out a decent side.
