To be fair, I was referring to another thread regarding the again bit, which I never commented on again. However, I am genuinely attempting to debate the pyramid because it looks like it will happen. It is difficult to do that when a collective of people on a Junior forum, in a thread about the future of Junior Football are actually hostile to the Juniors and, it seems, would be satisfied with the complete demise of the grade. Some have genuinly promoted the pyramid, on principle it is difficult to argue with. My issue is that we could be hurtling towards something that could be problematic for every club.  The attitude by some is so what and are not willing to listen. Some seem to be so consumed in hysteria that they won't concede that there are any issues, when there clearly are. If the Juniors join the pyramid, and it appear likely, they will be the biggest group of clubs in it, they will also have the biggest clubs, it would therefore appear that they could have a big say in the future. The arrousal by some on the prospective demise of the Juniors could indeed be premature. Interesting times, you never know it might all make for some juicy encounters in the future.

I have always said that the pyramid would be much better with the junior teams participating as that would give us a unified non league system.

I think there is a lot of posters on this debate being hung up on the terms 'senior' & 'junior' as either implies a better grade of football.

Unification will certainly throw up many problems, but these are not insurmountable.

At the moment, as I understand it, apart from the scottish cup, the SJFA have an overseeing role in the juniors but the regions are effectively left to provide the nitty gritty work

What I would love to hear is how it is envisaged the role of the SJFA would be in this single structure ?

Is there in fact a role for the SJFA when the regions  could provide the support with the SFA providing the overseeing role ?

So, the usual suspects jump all over this without actually understanding what is being debated. The Pyramid is not working, it exists that is not the same thing. As for fans of the big fish wanting the status quo, have you actually read any of my posts? A hell of a lot of people making a lot out of information which is no more than gossip, guess work and wishful thinking. Where did the 55% - 45% come from? Did they actually vote for a pyramid or was it the pyramid as is?

Again, just my opinion but I would not vote for what we have, but I am not against a pyramid, I suspect some clubs have a similar view. Until the significant deficiencies of the current pyramid are addressed, or some proposal to do this, big clubs in the west will not buy in. This dose not make them unambitious, big fish in small ponds or any of the other frankly inaccurate accusations. I personally think that it is time to join the up the non league and create a proper pyramid, got that? I have intimated it often enough! So, FFS read what I post and lets have a proper debate.

I have followed all the various threads on the pyramids with great interest.

I understand your distaste for the pyramid system as is, but I would appreciate if you lay out your proposals as to how the various non league systems could move from the current dogs dinner ( in your view ) we have at present, to how it should be - with a timescale too if possible.

  3. So which is the best free one then?

Avg is the one that i use and it has as good a reputation as any.

tbh, there isn't a lot to chose between the best of the free ones.

If you check the rankings they each seem to take turns at being the best as they upgrade and improve

  4. According to Microsoft themselves, they do suggest that MSE will only give the minimum level of security and suggest that a fully fledged antivirus be used.

I read somewhere that the reason they had to provide a beefed up minimum security system, was to counter the Apple claim that the Microsoft products had no antivirus and open to attack.

  5. Is there such a thing as an iTunes-esque library programme out there for digital images? I've got about 5GB worth of photos saved to my hard drive taken on various cameras and mobiles over the years. At present they are just organised in folders within 'My Pictures' (Holiday 2012, Christmas 2009 etc.) I'd quite like to have them all in one place with information such date taken showing to allow me to sort them out a bit.

    Anyone any suggestions?

I would suggest the first thing you might want to do is back your photos to a flash drive, (just got a 128gb one for £24) and sort your photo's from there.

I know that Adobe Lightroom is probably the sort of program that would do the job for you but that is the best part of £100 ! :o Picasa is great for editing and will also show the technical info about the photo, including date etc.

  6. This is quite petty but when viewing the window of the "My Pictures" folder, instead of a small thumb nail of what the picture is, it's the standard Windows Vista picture thing. I'd much rather it's the former so it saves me all of two seconds of bringing up a new window of the same thing to check them.

Doesn't seem to be an option to change this; only to change its size, grouping etc.

Probably been a setting change somewhere along the way but tis simple to get your computer to show picture thumbnails in your My Picture folders.

Computer / Properties / Advanced System settings / Performance pane / Settings button / Visual Effects Tab / Ensure the Show thumbnails instead of icons option is checked.

    Have fun !

  7. I reckon the feeling of QoS fans on here must be very similar to those of the Motherwell fans earlier when Stuart McColl decided to be interviewed by Sheffield United. In the end he chose to stay at Motherwell.

Who knows what decision AJ will make once he has all the facts to make his decision.

Best of luck for the season ahead anyway.

  8. Would you have honestly preferred it if Gretna had stayed financially prudent in the Junior Leagues, and not had that insane roller coaster ride?

(I'm not making any comparison to the Rangers situation there, just curious about Gretna)

Gretna were financially prudent when they first admitted to SFL3. They were 6th then 3rd in the first 2 seasons in Div 3.

It all started to go wrong sometime after Mileson got involved. I have no idea when he first started his financial meltdown of the club.

  9. I can understand the animosity towards Rangers and i appreciate the club itself have done little to endear themself to the footballing public in this country so expect absolutely no sympathy but i truly hope no other Scottish football supporters ever have to go through thsi regardless of who they support or what they think of Rangers,Their support or me. It is like a never ending nightmare that has me so disillusioned that i just want it to end and end now. If there is a Rangers to support fine if not then i'll just have to spend more time golfing/hill walking etc. Life will go on but there will always be that little something missing that cant be replaced.

Been there, done that............. and moved on.

When you have an owner, who in their own wee world, that thinks there is nothing wrong with the way they run their business and yet is so at odds with normality, everyone gets screwed.

Both had owners who decided that it would be simpler to ignore the system while chasing the fame and glory.

Everyone knows that in reality there is nothing different between the way Rangers and Gretna were run - simply a matter of scale !!

In the end up the fans get screwed, have to take all the abuse from all other supporters that were shafted by their run to glory - and then move on

Rangers fans rightly dished out just as much abuse when Gretna went under and now simply have to take it themselves now.

  10. I have been following Alex Thomson. It's amazing what an INVESTIGATIVE journalist can put forward & put's the WoS "Succulent Lamb" hacks to shame.

However, having read this, & agreed with everything he had to say. He has missed out another elephant in the room, in the case of the double contracts, which is also in contravention of SFA rules.

They have stiffed umpteen clubs, but worst of all, they've stiffed their own fans (who are too blind to see it).

    6950472951_26c821611c_z.jpg

Being in a situation where relegation to the bottom division is the only reasonable outcome. This inexplicable contravention of the rules, for what you can only assume is the whole of SDM's tenure at Ibrox, should further result in expulsion from the Scottish Football setup SINE DIE.

Am wondering what we are expected to believe with this list and what is it trying to tell us ??

Is it really suggesting that only the finalists in each competition should be the real winner ??

Not any other team that Rangers put out on the way to the final ??

IMO this is simply a totally nonsensical view of amended historical results.

  11. The SPL club chairmen are gonna be doing a rare old balancing act with a lot to consider in the next few days.

Sky/ESPN could pay a lot less for tv rights if Rangers not in the SPL – so less money coming in. But

Rangers not in the SPL could mean a higher league position – more money coming in. But

Rangers not in the SPL could mean more competitive matches – more money coming in. But

Rangers fans next season have been threatening a boycott - so no money from them. But

Each club has supporters threatening a boycott – no money from them.

Sounds like the chairmen are all gonna need a lie down after they finally make their decision !!

  12. I do believe that automatic relegation to division 3 should be the penalty for going into administration.

The problem we have is that we would need to have the two organisations, SPL & SFL, to work together to achieve this.

As Gretna were gonna be relegated anyway, the additional punishment was imposed by the SFL to demote them to Div 3.

They simply didn’t last long enough to get there. Livingston suffered the same demotion.

So the precedent has already been set by the SFL, and it just needs the SPL to make relegation automatic instead of the current proposed hotchpotch.

I reckon that if it had been any other club that was in administration then the SPL may well have been considering relegation as a suitable punishment.
