  1. I've not braved the clips on my mountain bike though. Too much of a big feartie.
  2. I've got mountain bike clips for pedals on my roadie, as I wasn't too keen on road pedals. Total rebel.
  3. A few thoughts: New away kit is a stunner. Considine's awards well deserved. Been consistent over the season and Joe Lewis is the only player I'd have argued the case for. I love when someone posts that McInnes trolling pic. Beautiful. Hibs fans are fucking weird.
  4. I think it's about £35? I donated my entry fee to charity if I didn't get in (hahaha, like that would ever happen) and got a nice training top for it. Would much rather be in the marathon of course! I'll enter the ballot again...
  5. I shat out of the Etape today. I dislocated a finger playing football last week and it's still really painful. There was no way I'd be able to do 66 miles of braking/changing gears... the sensible thing to do was withdraw. Absolutely gutted
  6. Well done eddiemunster! I managed a pitiful 5k today. My running has gone tits up. Was supposed to be cycling in the Loch Ness Etape today, but had to pull out because I dislocated my finger last week and I can't brake/change gear without pain. I'm going to focus on running for a bit. Would like to do another triathlon, too...
  7. Aye, but none of them are as fucking loony as you. That was a hilarious night out. We just left the bugger in the middle of Glasgow... I've got some pictures that could quickly put an end to that. She was blind, wasn't she? Shagger Aye, it was me. I had spent most of the day deleting all his aliases. He went ape and threatened to phone my place of work. Except we weren't actually at school that day - I think it must have been our 'occasional day'. He set up a website and started posting about the mods. I think he called me the stable boy or something? Utter roaster. Now there was a complete mentalist. I parked on Ruel Street when I went to Hampden for the League Cup final in November. True story. I'm pretty sure I 'checked in' on Facebook. This thread has been brilliant.
  8. I pulled my groin a month ago and could only do the ice thing at home. It wasn't comfortable!
  9. If you've got an ice pack (or just use frozen peas, obviously), try to ice it 15 mins every hour as long as you can.
  10. Holy toot, that's really impressive! Well done! I thoroughly enjoyed the 5k on Sunday - I ran it with the boy (who is 7). My training has been utterly pish recently, so thought I'd take it easy running with him and try and get him under 28 mins. At 2 miles in, I was struggling to keep up with him! I told him to go on without me and he sprinted off. I saw him cross the line and looked at my watch to see he'd done the 5k in 27:04. Not bad for a wee dude, I'd say. Shame he can't join the club until he is 9 as I think with some decent coaching he could be a really good runner. Some boy. I rolled over the line in 28:14. Boo. I need to sort out this training lull...
  11. Delighted to see Hayes extend his contract. Hopefully McGinn will do the same.
  12. Callum Hawkins goes even faster in Japan 60:00 for a half marathon. Incredible.
  13. Just to say, I did talk about Neal Killen during my run brief, and everyone at Elgin sends their best wishes to his family.
  14. I didn't realise this had happened. I saw someone had collapsed at Clumber Park on Saturday and the defibrillator they have was used and she's doing well. I'm run director on Saturday in Elgin, so will have mention the Bangor runner during my brief. Terrible news.
  15. Loch Ness Etape only 3 months away. Any other P&Bers entered? I've set up the turbo trainer and training will begin in earnest once I get the brats delightful children off to bed. I can do the distance quite comfortably (as comfortably as you can be on a road bike - I think a new saddle might be in order) but I want to up the speed a bit. Plus, that hill. My outdoor training is limited to weekends because of the kids, hence the not-ideal turbo. Have any of you used the Sufferfest videos? Where to start with them - there's loads of them on YouTube...
  16. Haven't run since 1st Jan, so did a 4.5 miler on the trails yesterday. Was slow because my hip was giving me a bit of gip, but it's done and was rather pleasant. I'm going out again on Sunday for 10k on the trail again, but I've set my turbo trainer up and will need to focus on cycling for the next few months before the Etape. Entering it seemed like a good idea at the time... f**k.
  17. First race of the year done this morning in horrendous conditions. 4.5 miles of wind, rain, hail, sea spray and a bit of snow thrown in just for good measure. Was disgusting, but the hot bath after felt awesome. Brings my total for the week to 21.1 miles, which is nothing for some of you, but for me, it's a huge distance!
  18. My stats have been rubbish for 2016. I've done more in the last three days than I did the whole of February or November. It's encouraging that I have enough of a base level fitness to still run 6/7 miles comfortably though. I'd like to be more consistent in 2017 - a trip to the physio would probably help there. More off-road running will help, too. I'm doing Loch Ness Etape in April, so going to have to concentrate on cycling for a bit for the start of the year.
  19. Sheesh that was an experience. Howling wind and pissing rain, but we did it... here's the elevation stats if you're into that sort of thing:
  20. Thanks eddie. Had a slight change of plan as I'm going to do a hard run on Saturday (running up a local hill here - 1000-ish ft elevation 3 miles up, 3 miles down), so I decided to take it easy today and did 6.5miles with the club this morning. Was a fab run though
  21. I did a nice gentle 3.5 miles this morning with some pals to blow away the cobwebs. Club training tomorrow is a 10 mile run along the Speyside Way. I don't know if I'll manage the whole 10, but I'll do at least 7 I think. Time to get a shift on. Been doing 5k runs for too long. On another note, my son ran a parkrun PB in 28:01 last week. He's 7. Wont be long before I'll be struggling to keep up with him, I reckon.
