  1. I looked at it pre NI game and they definitely say the point is awarded for attending the game but as POTM says that's not how it works in practice at present.

I can understand that as you're not taking a ticket from anyone in the SSC and it would likely would disincentivise the purchase of season tickets.

Thanks. Downloaded it there to have a look at comparable numbers. I can't recall who I was debating it with back then and can't be bothered searching for it but I recall about the time of the Euros ticket sale saying that I expected a far higher number of fans to have 12 points within the next 12 months than had at the time.

I think it may have been me. I can't quite get my head around that jump - the Poland game falling off and being replaced by the NI one shouldn't have seen much of a movement as far as I can work out from the best guess attendances (I can't find anything official on this). Austria falling off as an Away and being replaced by Netherlands is probably a more significant factor but I would have thought at that level that you're largely dealing with the loyal home fans who don't really bother with away games?

  3. I don't know when it became so fashionable to mock the idea that Gauld should get a look in for Scotland. He was the most naturally gifted Scot I've seen playing in the SPL in 30 years, he's clearly absolutely full of confidence and he's still arguably got his best years ahead of him. If we do get a 26 man squad I'd be far more excited by adding him to it than Anthony Ralston or Greg Taylor.

Was supposed to be back for the ICT game at end of March but now just back to "making good progress"

Yeah I did try and line this up with how Scotland play with 3 at the back and thought Milne could play the attacking LCB role in the same way Tierney does (though obviously not to the same level) with Ngwenya as the LWB.

I still think it's far more likely we just see McInroy or MacKenzie shunted out wide and keep the same formation, especially when the defence has been relatively secure these last few games.

Suspect you're right but would like to see Doolan be adventurous. 352 also offers more options for changing things I think.

  5. Think 3-5-2 is the best solution to accommodate our best players assuming he doesn't see Mackenzie as ready to step up fully. I think Ngwenya and Mackenzie could cover at wingback and arguably suits them both better than full back. Midfield 3 of Bannigan, McInroy and Stanway or Robinson if you're feeling more adventurous. McBeth/Neilson also options if we locate any other fit centre halfs. Robinson and Fitzpatrick options alongside Graham up front.

Still ahead of Cooper? Has he ever been ahead of Cooper?

He may be ahead of Cooper right now

    Glad we agree.

Gordon is the only keeper capable of challenging Gunn for the starting role, the others will never be more than backups. Friday showed that at the very least we need someone capable of that.

  7. Would be very surprised if Souttar isn't still ahead of Cooper. Clarke is about as far from a reactionary as you will find. The person who probably moved furthest in terms of cementing his place on the plane last night (assuming we agree Shankland is a cert) was Craig Gordon.

  8. Other main takeaways from last night:

    - We have a midfield 6 (especially if you add Hickey in place of Patterson) that can compete with anyone in Europe outside the top 2. The rest of the team is essentially a bubble Euros qualifier level. The question is how much they can "play up" at the Euros.

    - Reinforces my belief that Gordon must go to the Euros, he's the only keeper that on form can challenge Gunn, who reminded us last night that he's a good Championship keeper, nothing more.

    - Shankland did well and don't think there would have been much difference in terms of team performance if that had been Dykes or Adams;

I think this was in praise of Shankland but I would say he deserves more credit. The style of play for the first 70 was as good as I've ever seen from us, and Shankland deserves credit for his role in that. No chance we play in that way with Dykes in there and probably not with Adams either. He absolutely looked like he belonged.

I *think* we have our own bespoke lettering due to the partnership with Elms.

The pain just gets worse. The lettering is fine (accepting that the variation in upper and lower case is just a thing that happens now) but that number 6 is nothing short of a national disgrace.

    New font is interesting

If that's the font that might be the worst thing about the entire shirt, which is saying something. Assume all Adidas kits will be the same at least.
