  1. It would be interesting to see how often any of the floodlight-owning clubs have requested to play a match under them in the last couple of seasons. The only one I know about was Ardrossan (v Ardeer??) last season. Although not strictly a floodlight owning club as such, Royal Albert played Bellshill under floodlights at Carluke a couple of weeks ago with a crowd that was probably double what would have been expected on the Saturday at the same venue
  2. There is a popular misconception that there is some kind of "ban" on the use of floodlights in the juniors. There is no ban. There is a rule that says both teams must be in agreement to their use and that is where the problems arise as some teams take the view that it somehow gives the home team some kind of advantage and others say it is harder to have a full squad available midweek when travelling is involved. Have never personally agreed with any of those excuses.
  3. Isa I don't know why you bother even trying to put any point over that even remotely differs from those who have seemingly taken over the whole forum with their single agenda. It's not even pro pyramid posts anymore it's turned into an anti Junior free for all and even the older regular posters on the forum are so sickened off they've deserted in droves. Just leave them to self congratulate each other with each new post.
  4. I don't know the workings of the EOSL inner sanctum so a question Who has the final say on who gets accepted, the clubs (as happens in the SJFA) or the EOSL Hierarchy. I ask that because if I was a current EOSL member club I would be thinking what's in it for me allowing a mass influx of former Junior clubs.
  5. Really hope you're right Jamie but I have a feeling that the SFA will take the side of an already existing association over a brand new one although anyone with any brains should see that the top West juniors should sit above the SOSL. Time will tell
  6. Getting his Easter and September weekends mixed up methinks. Another dig right enough, they just can't seem to help themselves!
  7. Don't disagree with any of that although I don't think there will be a MASS exodus as such but probably enough to set up a league of some description if the SFA ever get their finger out although if it is set below the EOSL and SOSL which it probably will be then a lot of these clubs could face years trying to get through the WOSL into the SOSL and any possible play off scenario. Whether that would be a deal breaker for some clubs I don't know.
  8. I think what is going over everyone's head is that the Junior posters on here probably have no objection to being part of a pyramid in principle if done correctly not the dug meat of the current form, What is pissing most of us off is the sudden influx of posters who are seemingly taking great delight at predicting the demise of a grade that has been around for 140 years and being encouraged to do so by certain people
  9. Probably taken on one of your many jaunts up the park to take a penalty though. Do you still swing on the bar?
  10. See you've shaved your tache off on that pic Hamish
  11. Clubs that havent bothered there arse to try and better themselves for years..... Don't take it to heart Stevie Anyone who doesn't agree with Boringboy's views apparently talks "pish" but never mind, only another couple of months to go before he toddles over to the EOSL forum for good hopefully.
  12. A bit like some of the posters on this thread then? ?
  13. Nice one Daleboy you've got all the usual suspects frothing at the mouth on the end of your line with that one. Boringboy and Groggsy's heads must be exploding
  14. That would bankrupt the SFA in about 3 seasons
  15. Hopefully you make it all the way along with the 'Well getting to the final of the big one what an achievement that would be for the area.
  16. happieaccie would be better googling to try and find out if it's true about the rumours that their main sponsor has gone tits up
  17. That's why I've had him on ignore for 3 months
  18. Great post and a pleasant change from all the anti Junior merchants. You very eloquently sum up the feelings of the majority of clubs in the West Region
  19. And without the BIG Junior teams the standard will still be mediocre
  20. It's being discussed because NO team can keep on surviving unscathed up to 3 months at a rime without gate income. That is true whether you are Junior/Senior or In/Out of the pyramid. Nothing to do with trying to deflect from the pyramid discussion or trying to keep TJ in a job as much as the Junior haters would like it to be
  21. Sorry, must be my sense of humour but I found that quite funny for some reason
  22. As far as stats go I remember an old lecturer telling us that 10% of all car accidents are caused by drunk drivers which means 90% are caused by sober ones. So always drive when you're drunk and you 've less chance of having one. Moral of the story? Stats can be manipulated to prove anything
