  1. If he's as bad as he's being made out to be I'd like to think that Kettlewell has at least had him at a couple of training sessions to see it for himself. Always assuming what is essentially an online rumour is true of course.
  2. Think they were at some point last season. At least there's no midweek games which was sensible but 2 successive away games in 2 weeks to Royal Albert and Newmains is a tough gig travelling wise. I honestly don't know how they cope with it but they seem to do ok despite all the trouble with landslides on the Rest and be Thankful road. Smashing wee ground, friendly people and a great away day.
  3. I'm sure I read somewhere that they helped to fund our walking football teams trip to Newcastle for a tourney.
  4. No but that's what you mainly see in public, although its quickly getting to the stage where they're doing lines in full view because they don't really give a toss who sees them anymore. What goes on in the toilets is another matter. Getting away from the subject though.
  5. Not just footballers. Go into any Glasgow night club on a Saturday night and there's a hundred Goodwillies waiting to happen, mainly because of alcohol. Not condoning it but its a fact of modern life.
  6. Exactly, somebody can correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure McGinley has never played in the wingback position for us just as a LB so to write him off before he's even been tried there is a nonsense. It's been so long since I've seen him play I can't even remember if he's good bad or Indifferent but those with better memories seem to have made their minds up already.
  7. The problem you have there is they haven't broken any rules just as Clyde and Raith didn't break any rules when he signed for them so there's not a lot the blazers can do except wring their hands or get a new rule on the books banning players with certain convictions which would open up all sorts of cans of worms.
  8. You know that really pissed me off big time and it's the one thing that makes me question why I keep going to games to listen to the brain dead moron boo boys amongst our support. As I get older I get less and less tolerant of them.
  9. A bit more exotic than Motherwell or Kilmarnock that's for sure. Hope he does well over there.
  10. Aye strange one. Am I right in thinking that Tierney is the only player from the recognised 1st team squad that hasn't had any game time yet( with the exception of Efford and Shields who both might be away). Fully expected to see him at some stage in the opening 2 games.
  11. That's fine, as I said I wasn't confident that the information was accurate. Thanks for clearing that up. Hope the boy gets his chance at the big time, if not I'm sure Beith will welcome him back with open arms.
  12. It's not that we weren't interested, just couldn't agree a fee with Beith so I'm led to believe, so presumably that would mean he's still contracted to them (which I assume must be the case unless my info is wrong which it might well be). Don't know if anything transpired with Killie.
  13. At least we're not being linked with Lafferty any more as he's apparently just signed for Johnstone Burgh in the WOSL for a reputed £1600 pw.
  14. I would imagine it makes life extremely difficult for Kennie to organise a fixture list as well, especially if games get cancelled and have to be re-arranged. I'd also imagine that leads to requests to switch fixtures as grounds subject to sharing arrangements might not be available on those re-arranged dates (although probably not so much of a problem for those grounds with floodlights).
  15. Would we realistically have got more than the development fee of 380k/400k as a transfer fee if he had signed a new contract?
  16. According to someone over on SO who seems to be in the know, he's going to work as a sales rep for some foreign company (presumably in the pitch maintenance industry?)
  17. Ach well it was inevitable that a bigger club was going to come in and poach him at some point. At least with the new hybrid pitch we don't need another miracle worker to keep it playable. Still a big loss though.
  18. Changed days from the old Juniors when you could get a player for a set of strips and some training balls. Got potential but I certainly wouldn't be paying any kind of serious dosh for him.
  19. I'll probably be proved completely wrong but I don't think we'll see Fletcher at either us or St Mirren. I think he'll turn up at some English Div 1 team where they'll match the wages he was on at Dundee Utd.
  20. See our 16 year olds got beat 4 0 today in the Lanarkshire Cup by Airdrie who fielded a very strong team by all accounts.
  21. And that goes with my view that maybe Casey looked better than his previous playing history would suggest because he had Callum Butcher beside him. Wouldn't mind seeing the same partnership again next season but if Casey is off then maybe Blaney might turn out to be just as good given time.
