  1. We were all saying the same yesterday where I sit. Came to the conclusion that watching the same turgid football going on for 3 seasons now has dulled our expectations to the point where you just expect the same every game and become used to it. That's more of an observation on the quality of the League and the fear factor of relegation. Even more depressing is we all think it'll be more of the same for the foreseeable future continually trying to avoid the dreaded 2 bottom spots. Of course we're probably not alone in thnking that amongst our support along with fans of other clubs in a similar position. Ever optimistic I'll still renew my season ticket like I've done for 40 odd years and hope that next season is "the one".
  2. The old Broomfield was a great place to watch a game with a terrific atmosphere when we played up there. Section B and all that, blood and thunder on the park and running battles outside, happy days. Remember having to walk there and back from Motherwell one New Year when all the buses and trains were off and getting chased through Chapelhall on the way home.
  3. Amateur team Afghan Utd who gave a really good account of themselves at a higher level than they're obviously used to and were unlucky to lose a last minute goal against the Albert.
  4. I'm led to believe that their local bus hire company gives them a couple of mini buses FOC and they just have to pay for the fuel.
  5. I was thinking more along the lines of possibly getting into midweek territory which would be a nightmare but I suppose the season could be extended for the 4th division to avoid that situation should it arise. Couldn't see any team being able to make the journey down there midweek for a 6.30/7pm kickoff with a full squad.
  6. Am I right in thinking that's 9 Saturdays left and they have 10 games to play.
  7. Maybe someone on here can answer this. Is there a minimum amount you need to have paid into the WS before you get a vote?. Reason I ask is a mate has been paying in a fiver a month for 2 years so £120 so far. He gets all the weekly WS emails but didn't get the one asking you to vote.
  8. I think thats it in a nutshell. People Ive spoken to are a bit unsure of what to vote for so just haven't bothered and think that they'll just wait and see what the offers look like before deciding. Happy to agree in principle but the crunch will be what's in the fine print.
  9. I really dont understand the mentality of these people who only criticise and never post anything positive. I've tried to engage with them at times in the past but it gets a bit tiresome when you're continually called a happy clapper so I just avoid it all now and keep to this bastion of sensibility with the occasional foray into SO when I get the urge to self flagellate (although it is getting better with some new members)
  10. Will the SJFA split the gate according to the ticket sales or on the amount of tickets presented at the gate. Assuming the former?
  11. I'm actually amazed that having been a WS member since the start I've never heen contacted to see if I would be willing to up my monthly contribution. Hopefully with the changes someone with a bit of sales and marketing experience will address that. I'm pretty sure that with a bit of effort the monthly contributions could be increased dramatically.
  12. Surprisingly it seems to have been taken rather well so far.
  13. I am officially in couldn't give a f**k territory over Van Veen.
  14. Quick question for anyone able to answer. Was talking in the pub last night about how loan deals actually work in terms of how the player on loan is paid. Does the club he's on loan to pay their share of his wages up front or on a weekly/monthly basis to the parent club and hes paid directly from them, or does each club pay their share less tax n.i individually to the player. Took our minds off deadline day at least.
  15. Suppose its inevitable when you're looking at an ever decreasing player pool then you're going to try and get players that have played for you at some time and know if they'll fit into your system. I'm sure at some point in the future there'll be a player that can boast to have played for every SPL team outwith the Old Firm. Doesn't say much about the talent coming up through the lower leagues though. I
  16. Rumours going around that Spittal been offered a PCA by the Midden
  17. Pulled his hamstring while doing simple running routines is what Ive heard.
  18. Thought I'd logged into SO by mistake there for a minute.
