  1. 3 points would go a long way, even at this early stage in the season. Going 6 points clear of a direct promotion rival would be something to build on. I’ll take a narrow 2-1 win. MacIver and Agyeman to score with the inevitable Burrell goal for Cove.
  2. 1. Falkirk Honestly can see us anywhere from 1st to 4th but this has to be our season… right? 2. Hamilton Made a few decent signings to be fair and will most likely be challenging at the top end of the table. 3. Cove The coffers being filled will be an advantage ahead of most teams in the league and should have a decent enough squad to be challenging. The Hartley factor however stops any title charges. 4. QOS Was impressed with their improvements towards the end of last season and think they will sneak into the playoffs. 5. Stirling Albion Didn’t think much of Stirling until seeing recent results. Think they could potentially sneak into that last playoff spot but most likely will be hanging around mid-table. 6. Kelty Hearts Can’t really see them challenging at either end of the table. Liked the look of Daramola up top and think his goals prevent them from trouble at the wrong end of the table. 7. Alloa Can see a regression from Alloa this season, not bad enough to be troubled with relegation but enough for a fairly uneventful season. 8. Montrose Struggled last season and can see it continuing on into this season. A decent manager in Petrie keeps them afloat. 9. Edinburgh City I can see Edinburgh’s 2nd season in L1 being tougher for them although will be saved from the automatic drop by a poor looking Annan team. 10. Annan Athletic It doesn’t look like many improvements have been made to the squad and can see a long season ahead for the Galabankies.
  3. 100% agree, I like the improvements in attack as Agyeman looks to be a talisman and MacIver looks useful alongside the addition of Miller. However, we are a couple injuries away from an absolute calamitous defence, hopefully McGlynn can utilise the loan market well in the coming weeks.
  4. Not really sure where the idea of having a drum instantly makes you a small club with no atmosphere comes from. There’s plenty of big clubs in Germany like Dortmund who use them and they have one of the best atmospheres in Europe. I think as long as there’s atmosphere and singing behind it then it’s perfectly fine. I understand the noise can do people’s head in but it only sounds tinpot when clubs like Edinburgh City or Alloa are using them imo. I think an ultras group would be decent as the tifo against Ayr was class and was probably the best atmosphere at the stadium for years. Probably will get red-dotted but ah well.
  5. Burrell is a decent player but playing under Hartley is career suicide. Good luck to him as he’ll need it playing for that clown.
  6. O’Neills have knocked that out the park, that’s an absolute belter.
  7. First of all, the sun is an absolute rag of a newspaper and I’m not surprised they’ve somehow got their hands onto this. To me it sounds like FFS are getting 350k off the Government to start investing more into the club now and then pay it back at a later date when investments hopefully begin to recoup. Not sure why people would be opposed to this, basically speeds up the fan ownership process in essence. Obviously will be more clear later on.
  8. From my memory he was received fairly positively as he’d shown to be a good player from the showings he had against us. Willing to give MacIver the same opportunity, unfair to make judgments on new signings before they’ve kicked a ball for the club. While underwhelming to many, I hope the lad does well.
  9. I’d have him back as he was solid for us but I can see why fans would prefer someone with a bit more experience about them next season
  10. On the McGlynn front, I’m on the side of keeping him. There is a need for stability at the club after years of turmoil and failed managers. While tactically inept over the latter portion of the season, he is still our most competent manager since Houston (although not a very hard task to beat). The mandate has to be a comfortable position at the top of the table after the first quarter/half of the league season. Anything less and I think we need to look at other avenues. Big few months ahead as many have already pointed out.
  11. I suppose that’s true but Yeats was night and day when he played instead
