  1. The open-top bus parade when the team got back to Glasgow was a bit much, I'll admit.
  2. Really do not think that the fans as a whole have been showering the team with praise over the Netherlands result or that the players or staff seem satisfied with the way that game turned out. Recognising that there are positives to take from the 70 minutes of that game where we played in a very competitive and assured manner against one of the world's top-ranked teams on their own turf is probably a healthier "mentality" than just writing the entire performance off based on the scoreline.
  3. Not sure why any professional footballer with a modicum of self-respect would feel the need to "debate" some youtuber who thinks he's crap, to be honest.
  4. Whenever Ten Hag brings on Scott to save the day at the end of a game I picture Mr. Burns instructing Daryl Strawberry in that Simpsons episode where they play softball. "You - McTominay! Score a late winner!" "Sure thing, Skip!"
  5. "Precautionary pitch inspection" to be carried out at 1pm as per the Airdrieonians twitter feed just now.
  6. Paul Nuijten being introduced as "caretaker manager" by the BBC. I know it was basically assumed that this was the case but am I right in thinking this is the first time he's actually been referred to as such?
  7. Bizarrely I actually had a dream a few nights back that Scotland V. Cowdenbeath was the first March fixture. Steve Clarke was drilling the players and kept sternly telling them not to underestimate the other side as "they'll be desperate for a win here."
  8. The upcoming nations league campaign would be the most natural time to start getting him involved in the squad I would think.
  9. He is spiderman and the section of the fanbase that's constantly angry at him are J Jonah Jameson.
  10. Clarke has said that he wants to target European sides who failed to make the tournament for the friendlies.
  11. The important thing is that we've ended the campaign unbeaten in our head-to-head records against all of the other teams, and that's the real quiz.
  12. 3-0 to Scotland and Georgia to dive their way to a 1-0 win against Spain. Steve Clarke already crowdsurfing around Hampden before the final whistle's been blown.
  13. good enough to start against toulouse but not good enough to start against georgia aye ok (5 of those sideways cry-laughing emojis in a row)
  14. I reckon we're due at least one absolute blowout victory before this campaign is over and the Georgia game seems like a good candidate. I'm thinking 4-0 at HT and a cheeky two or three more in the second half as we let all the subs get a run around and bury the spectre of Georgia (A) once and for all. (Followed by a torturous 1-0 win against Norway to cap it all off).
  15. I mean, it's not that unlikely that we'll be playing at least one of these last three countries in an actual competitive game next year. In any case I doubt anyone will be regretting this run of fixtures when our next meaningful match against a high-ranked nation rolls around.
