  1. Last game tomorrow, and I would like to thank the team and staff for making it a truly enjoyable season. I would also like to thank the committee for all the work they do behind the scenes. It’s noted and appreciated.
  2. I’ll be honest, I don’t know how to PM in P&B, but is it possible to get a Bo’ness top for my grandson, he’s only 3 but started at a football class?
  3. Let’s face it, his coat’s been on a shoogly peg from the day he started
  4. Not a great game, but a win is a win. Not a great wee rose team compared to years gone by. Thought Hunter did well at half time, the switch to back 4 was the right thing to do, though why Lithgie changed to the long ball was beyond me. Tranent loosing again makes it a good weekend for us. 1-1 at half time was a fair result, but we definitely deserved the win. But that’s 5 games without a win for the rose, and I can see why if they play like that. Both teams were no angels today, but the rose were lucky to finish with ten men. 3 games left, onwards and upwards.
  5. I really don’t care what competitions we get into next year. For me, the return of Newtown Park as my happy place has been the thing I will remember this season. I’ve enjoyed (most of the time) watching the team this year, last season it was a chore (most of the time).
  6. Good win today with so many regulars missing. Don’t want to get hopes up just yet with a difficult run up to the end of the season, but does anyone know if the top four teams entry to the Challenge Cup includes the “b” teams?
  7. Think Dave has already said everything there is to say about the game today. Best thing about today’s game was three points.
  8. Please don’t give him the oxygen of publicity, personally I wouldn’t give him the oxygen of oxygen. Just don’t read his posts.
  9. I wonder if he can explain what’s happening with Musa?
  10. I suppose it didn’t look like a glamour match. But fair play to Edinburgh Uni for the effort they put in.
  11. Stuart has been a tremendous asset to the club as a player, and now as manager. The BU’s have been so much more enjoyable to watch this season. I for one am extremely grateful for all he has done for the club, and surprisingly for BU fans, also have hardly heard a bad word about him.
  12. Was looking forward to the Wee Rose finally managing to get promoted as missing the derby games, but my god, the bunch of moaning numpties they bring with them. You should feel pity for people who only get a sense of superiority from other people’s efforts.
  13. I was too far away to have an opinion on Saturday. Just watched highlights, and in view of all the jersey tugging that the ref let go, the red card seemed at odds with his previous/further decisions. I think he was a poor referee when we played Glencairn, and he was no better on Saturday. Thanks for the info John, I should check my facts.
  14. The better side won, but the standing ovation for the BU’s said it all. Well done everyone, the best team came second.
  15. He can only have improved since then. In his defence he was equally bad for both sides. An “it’s all about me” ref.
  16. Hope the second half is better than the first. Or is the plan to give Morton a false sense of security?
  17. For the first penalty awarded, from where I was standing the tackle was fair, the ball was played, sending it towards the sideline. The Hearts player then tripped over the player after the ball was away. I think it was in the box. I could see how a penalty was awarded though. Couldn’t see second penalty, no reaction from anyone because the ref was having such a nightmare. Gemmell’s second yellow was, from where I was standing 20 yards away, the wrong decision. It was Gemmell who was fouled. To me, admittedly wearing blue tinted glasses, there was absolutely no consistently in the ref’s decisions. There were several occasions when similar fouls/tackles were either over reacted to by the ref, or completely ignored. I don’t think he was a cheat, I just thought he was inept. Possibility he realised he had not got a handle on the game and overcompensated; I really don’t know. However, it is what it is. A very enjoyable game, especially in the second half if you’re a Bo’ness fan, and a really surprising result based on the first half. Well done to the Bo’ness players, and based on the turn around at half time we’ll done to Stuart in the dressing room. But for a soft penalty, and a goal keeping error, which Musa more than made up for with some superb saves, who knows what the score would have been. Can’t decide if the ref spoiled or made the match, but would prefer not to see him again.
  18. Bo’ness put in au cracking second half, well done lads. Gemmell’s sending off was a joke, no a disgrace.
  19. Just want to say what ever the result this is the worst referee I’ve ever seen. Absolute disgrace.
  20. Today’s not about the pitch, but the drainage. Will the game be on?
  21. When Lucas’s goal went in I think it was the happiest I’ve been at Newtown Park for a very long time.
  22. I was just thinking you had to be there last week to appreciate today’s performance.WHAT AN IMPROVEMENT!
  23. Well done to the team, who really lifted their game today. Very enjoyable day for the Bo’ness fans. Good win over a very competent Darvel side. Third goal was a peach.
