  1. And us asleep in the stands watching the dullest football we have ever seen.
  2. If you compare attendances in the Championship and League One (without Falkirk) then it paints a very stark picture in terms of income. Relegation would be disasterous from that point of view.
  3. I don't think so but Beuker may be given the state he left us in.
  4. Interesting selection for us. Great the Dom is back. Wilson out, presumably crocked. With Dom and McKinstry both playing I am guessing we are changing our shape to a 4-3-3? Big day for Fox and Tizz.
  5. I see from Owen Coyle Jnr's post on Linkedin that his dad has taken Chenaiyin FC to the play offs in India. Well done to Owen Snr! A celebratory (curried?) fish supper beckons I am sure
  6. Congratulations to Inverness. You played the better football and deserved the three points today. You had the better run of the play and the better chances on goal. The Queens Park squad didn't turn up. And that is now three games in a row that we have stunk the place out. Whilst the referee gave too many soft fouls for my taste (both ways) I don't think he had a decisive decision that altered the game. There was a lack of leadership on the pitch in the Queens Park squad. To my eye, it seemed as though whoever had the ball was expecting someone else to do something special with it (with the honourable expectation of Jack Thomson and Louis who at least had a go). We play best with pace, movement, and with the ball on the deck. Floaty long balls do not play to our strengths. Let's stick to what we are good at, just like we did at Ayr and we will be fine. We should not be ninth with the talent in that squad, which is, in my opinion, better than what Inverness had to offer. I do not sense that our squard are playing for their survival in the Championship. Today looked like a pre-season friendly. It is time for the team to stand up and be counted. And us as well in the stands, which are far too quiet when times are tough.
  7. A stellar performance from Greenock's finest with a league leading 380 fouls and five of the top 10 in yellow cards. Surely they are being persecuted by the fascist SFA refs of Scotland? After all they are gentle footballing souls down that way are they not?
  8. He has been a revelation. Three goals and three assists since he joined us. And in most games he didn't play 90mins. Cheers Dunc!
  9. Indeed. As exciting as it would have been to be promoted I personally i think it probably would have a disaster for the club. We are not ready for that level of football on the pitch or off it. We would have had to jettison the youth "project' and burn what cash we had on journeyman players. Don't think it would have ended well.
  10. None of them frighten us either, even after yesterday's scudding.
  11. Think it was leftover from the last Scotland game. Put there in case the Scotland fans sh@t themselves if John Soutar was brought on again.
  12. That was an amazing season that we will all look back fondly on. But in that parallel universe you are referring to I think we would be where Livingston or Ross County now are. I know this has been a tough year but yesterday was a taste of what it is like to play Premiership quality opposition. I don't think we would enjoy being pumped every week.
  13. Feeling bizarely confident about next week, which is unusual for me. The team will have a point to prove. 3-0 to us.
  14. Eight points should see us fine. Looking at the fixtures I would say Inverness have a tougher run with Raith and Morton. We both have Dunfermline who are looking decent now they have their players back. Win next week, draw at the Pars, hopefully win at Abroath, then hold out for a point at Airdrie. If we lose next week then by all means hit the panic button .
  15. Well played Utd. Totally outplayed us today. I thought we had manged to ride the storm of the first 20mins and put in a dogged performance but the goal on half time let the air out of the balloon. Second half was abject. Gaping hole where our midfield should be. Sloppy passes and we seemed to be second to every ball. A poor day out for McInstry and Turner but they were outnumbered for much of the game. The swirling wind certainly made Call appear indecisive but the pen save and his goaline heroics leave him credit in the bank with me. Time to shine over the next for games!
  16. A wee bit harsh calling Hampden a dump. In need of an upgrade yes, but it is a bit of a palace compared to some of the stadiums we have to visit. Agree with you on Lesser. A couple of temporary stands giving us a capacity of 3-4000 and we would be very snug in there.
  17. You probably should win given the relative strengths of the teams. Much will depend on injuries and whether we can get Dom Thomas and Jack Thomson fit and playing. If they are then, a point or more is certainly attainable for us.
  18. Err. My original post was on Sunday I think. You guys are keeping it going! It is wonderful watching Paton and Longridge. Much better than thugs in fita strips like Crawford. He played like a complete see you next Tuesday. Should have been off the park after his tackle on Thomson.
  19. A different primary school class or local kids football team is invited each week. So about 20-30 kids each game as far as I can tell. A nice try indeed.
