The St. Mirren FC 2023/24 thread

5th spot will get European football and what a season that would be, 6th from here would be disappointing but nobody could possibly say Robinson hasn’t done a great job, majority of the season we’ve had very important players out and we’ve managed to keep digging out results -
The strange thing about all this Collum thing and rangers not wanting him again is that, he was once the guy who gave rangers a penalty when his back was turned to the incident, no sure they were rushing to slaughter him then, grow the f**k up and move on, or better still, move to England and give them your issues

I’d like to see more of Stav, feel like Mandron, Grieve and Olysanya have all had a bit more of a chance and done very little, last night Mandron looked knackered after 15 mins. Couple important goals between them but not enough on a regular basis -

If we can get 2 decent midfielders and a half reliable striker in, given the fixtures now until the break, I’d strongly fancy us to get top 6 and push for that 4th place, but we def need a couple out and couple in -
Never even got a chance to get going, fair play to celtic for that. feared it would be 6/7 at that point especially when down to 10 but celtic lacked a cutting edge. Games hard enough when we've 3 of our best players missing, the Baccus one is just ridiculous, he's away to play at the same tournament as all the celtic lads, but we lose him, while they get the extra game, leaves a bad taste. Red card is probably about right, although Hart does go down to waist height as the foot is going up. If it was left at a yellow i'm not sure anyone would have cared as the game was done anyway. Last night also confirmed it was right to remove a stand from Celtic, hearing utter shit supporting the IRA from one stand is bad enough, 2 would be horrendous. Times have moved on while those fans have stayed in the past

Some ref decisions were just crazy, booked Tanser for getting clattered, failed to book Atkinson for going through back of grieve in first half but then booked him for same thing in the second half. Gogic slightly lucky after an early booking then he touched McKay who went down like he’s been hit by a train, fortunately got away with it as McKay tried his best. 2-0 was fair but hearts missed a couple other chances we gifted them, won’t say too much about Oda except he’s learnt his trade from the same school as Nakamura

Actually think the quality from set pieces has been shocking, yesterday we had 4/5 corners that with the wind should have been whipped right in, instead they were coming down with snow on them, across the team there is a lot of very simple and basic things being done badly, 20 yard passes, lumping balls into the chanels while there's a hurricane blowing at our backs, we didnt deal at all with conditions. -

With the first goal, now i was half cut and it was well after midnight where i was watching, but did the ref just stop the game to get the decision from VAR?? from what i remember the ball was still in play and hes meant to wait for a break in play -

He could use Fraser at RWB, he’s always been a RB until recently so he goes there and Bolton comes in, or small plays rwb, wouldn’t go ripping everything up just cause strain is out, whatever he does we need a turnaround quickly. Sunday I actually felt we at least tried playing a bit which is more than we’ve done recently -
St Mirren v Hibs 08/11/23

Although Taylor dived in to try win the ball high and left the space behind, Baccus was as much to blame as he ended up about 40 yards behind Newell, effort to get back was minimal, and I’m actually usually very positive about him but Wednesday was not his best game that’s for sure -
Killie vs Saints 30/9

People saying it’s dunne and hemming at fault. Yeah I’d say there to blame, but O Hara passes it short to dunne and should have just been playing straight back to hemming -
I’ve never had a problem with shankland but his behaviour today is embarrassing given he’s the club captain. When he went down holding his face and The saints player was booked, he conned the very poor ref, falls over a lot, moans a lot, don’t remember him like that at saints, as for the idiot in away end making nazi salutes, other fans should be having a word
