I had to go for an long overdue eye test today, because they stopped sending me contact lenses. Apparently the vision in one eye has got better whilst it’s deteriorated in the other. when I asked if that meant I’d get different strength lenses for each eye, the woman said yeah but that had already been the case for the last 4 years.

Div A Rd 14 Ziggy beats PurpleKangaroo by resignation. Nothing much in it, both us played fairly solidly during the opening, I then thought I was gaining a slight imitative, didn’t make the most of it but then Craig overlooked some threats/pins that my bishop had. Tough game that I was pleased to win. cheers for the game.

Div A- Round 11 Ziggy beats Invergowrie by resignation. I was white against a fairly typical Scandinavian. I thought it was fairly level until Invergowrie played 13..b5 which seemed really committal and weakening. Thanks for the game mate.

I hope he doesn’t Chuck it before PMQs.

Not long back from Glastonbury, highlights for me were Idols and Jarv is. Biggest disappointment for me was Primal Scream (although I only stayed for 6 songs) and the Pet Shop Boys (although I did enjoy the technical problems at the start, I thought they were trying to be more like Daft Punk live) Glastonbury has definitely got more middle class since I first went in 2004 however it’s still absolutely fucking nuts. ps. One of the best additions this year was a Co-op (I’m being serious). The prices were not far off what you would pay in a usual highstreet store so I spent a lot less on food.

Div A Ziggy beats Beef by resignation. Strange game, I was a bit better after the opening, I was a pawn up but it was doubled. I was just settling down for a long fight when beef imploded. thanks for the game mate

Division A Ziggy the Spider defeats Invergowrie by resignation. Absolute nightmare of a game with mistakes galore. Invergowrie should have won, he definitely shouldn’t have lost the endgame that we reached, I was just about to offer the draw because there was no way to win. Thanks for the game mate, I really got lucky.

Ziggy The Spider draws with Dearyme. It was quite a short game but I managed to cram in 5 mistakes 4 inaccuracies. Dearyme made a lot less, but they were big enough for me to get a draw..

Thanks for the game, yeah there wasn’t much in it. Despite being a pawn up I wasn’t sure if i was winning. There were a few times I thought I was taking too many risks trying to win.
