  2. Ayr Utd 1-1 Airdrie Arbroath 0-2 Dunfermline Dundee Utd 1-2 Raith Rovers Morton 1-0 Queens Park Partick Thistle 1-1 Inverness CT
  3. Taking from that he is no longer an option to replace Perez next season. That was the whole point of him being at this team in the first place. So its going to be now whether he decides to be done with F1 before F1 is done with him. I'm sure he will give it his best shot, however no one escapes the axe warning, not in F1. Not a surprise, everyone could see he had lost some speed at McLaren and that wasn't down to the car. He's a different level in understanding the car and communication than de Vries was but looks like not any quicker. It would also be annoying if people start trying to lobby other teams to take him just because they believe he has an entertaining personality.
  4. Its going to be every game is going to be significantly more important than the last one. We could go into the game at Firhill four points adrift if Ayr keep up their bogey this season over Airdrie. Crazy that we have only lost one out of our last seven league games and sit in 9th. Far too many draws (5 out of last 7 ). Partick's home form isn't that bad only a point away from Raith and Dundee Utd. I'd imagine the bad run is over and its all about securing 3rd.
  5. A BG own goal in the first 10 minutes, shut up shop, park that bus and ugleee anti football all the way and some dodgy ref decisions helping us to the final whistle and the liberation of all three points heading up the road.
  6. Going into playoffs when you can't score enough goals is not going to end well. Never ends well. At the moment it might be Montrose who we could be up against. When you have people telling you about the lower standard this season of teams in the playoff places in L1, that does not bode well for us, I don't believe them. Even if we get past Montrose we will certainly get pumped by Accies who seem to beat us regardless how rank they are at the time. So we need to win, a draw is no use. We are in the position now where we are starting to look at the other teams results to go our way. Not good.
  7. This is a must win for us, no chance we are going to draw our way out of 9th place and into safety. After 3 draws in this fixture it stands to reason that this one will end in a win for someone. If this was up in Inverness I would be less confident. As I mentioned before we have traditionally gone on a late season runs of wins, with only 8 games left is a case of soon, when? or never.
  8. The Bught was ruled out back when the site for the new stadium was discussed back in the early 90's. It would be a nightmare with traffic and parking. Plus there was a concern among the residents with noise and trouble. The Bucht itself is not suitable anyway because no one wants anything built there, no one wants to lose any more green space and we found out how much opposition there is to change when Inverness City had a temporary pitch there, the club were not allowed to close the gate for the boundary fence when it wasn't being used as the public had right of way. So people could walk through the ground if they wanted including dog walkers. So many reason why the Bucht Park was a bad idea for a football ground especially one that had ambitions to play in the top flight.
  9. Well that is impossible as explained earlier with the pipes running close to the opposite side of the pitch, no stand can be built there. Unless you mean the other side of the road and having the Main Stand there and which would require a floating pitch, facing east it would still be open to the elements especially in winter.
  10. No excusing bad pitches, stuff happens like weather once in a while but once a pattern of call-offs is established because of the state of a pitch then its pointless making excuses. I did say Livi should sort themselves out but they are not going to anytime soon with changing out their old rug. If they beat Celtic on the last day of the month, it might be totally worth it just for the shits and giggles, especially if Celtic and their armys of darkness blame that pitch. Dens has been a tattie field for years, everyone knows that. Bad pitches are bad pitches regardless of whether they are grass or plastic. Nothing is better than a well maintained grass pitch. We used to have a bowling green like surface at Inverness for years. Nairn County, Station Park was very nice as well.
  11. Clyde 1-2 The Spartans Dumbarton 1-0 Bonnyrigg Rose East Fife 3-2 Stranraer Elgin City 0-0 Forfar Ath. Stenhousemuir 2-1 Peterhead
  12. Arbroath 0-4 Partick Thistle Ayr Utd 1-1 Queen's Park Dundee Utd 0-2 Inverness CT Morton 1-2 Dunfermline Athletic
  13. Just the game at Motherwell. Kilmarnock played that day and have an artificial surface. I don't see any other games on the fixture list that were played that day in the top flight. Which other game were on? The only other games to survive that day in the SPFL whom have grass was at Firhill and the Caledonian Stadium, no one else did. The other two leagues, the only three games that survived were on an artificial surfaces, Hamilton, Stenhousmuir and Forfar, all the others were off. I would say Livingston pitch is an very much outlyer and not a good example of all artificial pitches. Livingston really need to sort themselves out.
  14. How would a ban on artificial surfaces in the top flight have an effect on the playoffs? I can think of a few scenarios that create an absolute farce, just Scottish football being Scottish football.
  15. Funny thing is a fourth place finish isn't that far in front of us, considering our annual habit of going on good runs towards the end of the season. Imagine the banter if this actually happened, .......................imagine the cranial detonations???
  16. I don't believe that means anything in playoffs. Brechin City is a good example of one of the worst teams ever to get to the playoffs and then succeed in a two leg final against a bigger team with so called better players. Its about who turns up on the day . Poor teams get found out during a season, but easily can wing it over four games with the right tactics and motivation. If we end up in the playoffs I'd take no one for granted, especially our old nemesis bogey team Hamilton Accies. Another way of looking at it and not taking anything for granted is you just have to look at the cup games, example the Scottish Cup this season and the surprise results.
  17. Easy 3 points for us. Another dodgy penalty given, Billy McKay scores 1-0 up, shut up shop. Job done.
  18. Lodovica is out of contract end of season, I doubt he will be here next season regardless of which league we end up in. We have only 5 or 6 players under contract for next season, Billy McKay and those signed at the start of last season on a two year, everyone else is up for renewal or away, plus lots of loanees who will go back to their clubs. Regardless of which league we end up in, its going to be a big clear out in the summer. Huge job for the management team. I think even those who still have a year left on their contract might not get that far.
  19. I don't think ''long run'' enters anyone's thoughts just now, especially when it would add to costs in the present. If I recall it was considered a few years back and then left. I don't see any reason to change to artificial and make it an issue in the future, plus the players train at Ft. George and have done since we moved from Telford Street.
  20. With this playoff talk does that mean folks are confident that we will avoid administration?
  21. Only 12 clubs from 42 allowed to vote?? So when the elite Premiership breakaway from the SPFL?
  22. Far as I'm aware the stadium faces the correct way. It would look a bit daft if the main entrance was on the opposite side from the access road.
  23. Imagine if the last game of the season decides which of our clubs ends up in the playoffs. Could happen.
  24. I'd rather have a view overlooking the Moray Firth than looking up at rows and rows of tenements. But each to their own.
