  1. Really looking forward to this game on Saturday, huge chance for us to build real momentum after Saturdays historic win. Felt like the last couple of weeks fans have been growing tired of the managers slow play and uninspiring interviews, win on Saturday and we go into the derby in great spirits. Might even start to push the Hearts fans into being more acceptant on Naismith's time in charge.
  2. I would say there is a lot of people who would agree with Adams regarding the standard, also those who would argue he is wrong but all conversation surround the Scottish game is legit. Arguments on both sides would have a lot of substance. The issue I had with the interview is he doesn't make the point well and it doesn't come across as I thought out personal opinion that he can back up. It looks like he lost game of football because his players make a mistake and he tried to hit out at anyone and everyone like a child who had just been told they were getting ice cream after dinner. The English comparison was poor IMO, I watch a lot of league 1 and championship football and I've watched some rotten games over the past 3 months. Last thing on it would be that if he genuinely believes the standard of football is that bad in Scotland, what are his suggestions to improve it? not any good telling everyone how bad something is with no potential resolutions. I think Derek Adams will regret the way he came across and probably shows again why interviewing managers directly after games is not also the best idea, especially when emotions are high.
  3. Not a great game for either side although Kilmarnock probably happier with a point. Hearts far too slow in the build up and when we managed to get into the final third there seemed to be no imagination, Shankland in particular looked done in and lucky not to see a 2nd yellow. Vargas looked pretty sharp when he came on and Kent looks like he will be a solid defender, Kingsley didn't have a great game IMO but is a solid player and can be forgiven for not being at the races. Overall need to accept that Killie came with a good game plan and implemented it well, they were tough in all areas of the park and didn't give hearts anything! It was up to us to find a way to unlock them and we weren't able to do that on this occasion, we move onto Thursday which I have a funny feeling might be much of the same considering Rosenberg have the advantage. Need to find a way to break teams like that down.
  4. Difficult one IMO, I would love to see us give our own young players a chance either in a starting position or regular substitute appearances. Especially with players like Pollok who looks like he could be a really good player and possibly ready to step up. Ultimately though we are all going to quite rightly judge Naismith and McAvoy on results and how we start the season, with that in mind they need to be allowed to bring in the players that they believe are going to allow them to do their job the best. If the management played young players to meet fan demand and it didn't work we couldn't really hold them to account, let them do the job with the tools they think are best and lets see how it goes. I don't think it really shines a negative light on our academy either as we have had a few players come through the last couple of years and the B team could be used as a metric to judge the progression of young players and they seem to be doing ok.
  5. Totally agree with this! As a hearts fan I am relatively happy as selling more season tickets is great for the fans and shows we are right behind the team, as a football fan I understand it may dilute the atmosphere which may not be ideal for the game. IMO I seen this coming when the old firm began changing allocations and a few month ago agreeing not to have any fans at all. As a neutral it didn't effect me however I did have a concern that it may start a trend, when the SFA / SPFL refused to get involved and try to mediate it was noticed by other clubs and it gave them permission to make decisions based on their own self interest (rightly or wrongly). I think if this continues in 3/4 years you may have a situation where there is no away fans at several games and that for me would be completely wrong. The only way I see this being resolved is the governing body stepping in and dictating that all clubs get for example 5% away allocation, if tickets are not sold in a certain timeframe then clubs have to hand them back to the home team. I am delighted we have an agreement in place for derby allocation to stay the same as I love going to Easter Road and the Derbys at Tynecastle are always a good game.
  6. 'loads of scum' .. Not a great perception of the area and the people who live here, I moved here around 7 years ago and have been welcomed into the local community, even receiving a free season ticket for Perthshire because we live in G22. The minority will always grab the headlines, the majority work hard to help these areas prosper.
