It was Steven’s (aka @Jimi Shandrix) funeral yesterday. He chose the predictably wonderful music himself, and I’m sure you’ll all be pleased to know that the Pie and Bovril forum got a mention at the service as being a passion of his and a great source of strength to him. I’m collating all your messages to pass on to his family. Thank you so, so much for all of them. Happy new year to all of you. Alan x

Hello everybody I'm very sorry to tell everyone on here that my dear friend Steven, known to all of you on here as @Jimi Shandrix, passed away peacefully and surrounded by love last night (Tuesday). I last spoke to him on Saturday morning, when he was excitedly awaiting the France-England game. He managed to watch it, but sadly began slipping away from us shortly afterwards. Typical Smiley (as I and many others called him), waiting for England to get beat! I know how highly thought of he was on here and rightly so. He really was an amazing person, and an absolutely wonderful friend to me and so many others. We're all going to miss him terribly, but are thankful that we had him in our lives. I know he loved being part of this community, and I think it's amazing what you have all built up here. He took a lot of strength from it, which I'm sure helped him find the incredible courage he showed facing up to this horrible disease. So on behalf of Steven, his family and friends, thank you for the support you showed him. It meant so much to him. Lots of love to you all Alan

Hibernian v Ross County (8/11/22)
Rapid Pie Movement replied to Matty-RCFC's topic in Scottish Premiership General Chatter
I'll take any kind of win tonight. St Johnstone last 20 mins apart we've been pretty good at home. But with no Boyle our goal threat is considerably reduced. Mind you, we scored 2 when he went off against St Mirren so you never know... -

I couldn't agree with this summation more. The dive initiates the contact! I don't understand how people don't get this. -
Hello everybody. Jimi is a very dear friend of mine, and he's doing OK. I'll pass on your best wishes to him and let him know you're all thinking of him.

He also completely misunderstood the last question he was asked about Ross County. He was asked about how crucial their game against Motherwell this week was, and he made a comment about Hibs. -
Hibernian v Motherwell 08/10/22
Rapid Pie Movement replied to Lyle Lanley's topic in Scottish Premiership General Chatter
Really enjoyed my last two visits to ER (Rangers and Aberdeen games). Can't wait for Saturday. Early days obviously, but the last few weeks have been hugely encouraging, and we're getting our injured players back gradually. Changed days from the second half of last season, which was truly terrible both results and performance-wise. Hoping for a big crowd on Saturday given our recent form and Sauzee's return. Will be a very tough game no doubt, but looking for three points. -

Hoping for three points in this match, but it will be very tough. Maybe we'll see Magennis on the bench? Although I think the Motherwell game might be a more realistic target for him. The first 11 pretty much picks itself, with Youan or McKirdy the only tricky decision for Lee Johnson I feel. -

Hopefully we can add a fit Magennis (and possibly Mitchell, although there's been no update on him for ages) to the mix too. We probably won't see Nisbet, Bushiri and McGeady until after the WC. I'm with you, feeling a lot happier than I did a few weeks ago. The next few games will tell us a lot. Ross Co [A], Motherwell [H], D Utd [A], Celtic [A], St J [H] and St Mirren [H] in October. We should be aiming to win all the home games, and pick up a few points away too. Of course, it doesn't always work out like that... -

Oops, apologies. Yes, think it’s time I moved on too. -

Three fouls? Incorrect. And yes, I have watched it, I was there. It happened right in front of me. -

Didn’t soften my position, merely accepted I was factually incorrect when I quoted Goodwin, although I am fairly confident about what he was getting at. Just like you’re factually incorrect about Porteous’s three fouls. And the ref was also incorrect in not giving us at least two more pens on the day. Different incidents of course, but there you go. -

Nah. That’s just not right is it? So not that simple. -

What on earth are you on about? -

OK, I accept he didn't sat specifically say Porteous dived. So I apologise unreservedly for that. But he did accuse him of cheating. And no matter what you think of the decision, he didn't cheat. And all this is missing the point, which of course I'm sure you know. Goodwin's comments were outrageous and he has rightly been charged. As regards the penalty decision, I thought it was a pen in real time (and I was right in front of it), but having seen it back I'd call it contentious (not soft). I can see why it was given, but I'd be annoyed had it been given against my team. But then I was annoyed about the other two decisions we didn't get which I'm sure we can all agree were definitely penalties.
