  1. Shoehorning players into the shape rather than playing a shape that suits the players. Where have we seen that before?
  2. Drey Wright summing it up. Zero communication and St Mirren first to every second ball. A lot of disinterested Saints players. A lot not good enough as well.
  3. Absolutely stinking. All just stood there and let him shoot. Smith ran the other way. Dropping back for no reason.
  4. That one with Tanser didn't look anywhere near being the whole ball over the line.
  5. As the commentators have pointed out. Teams just let us have the ball and 9 times out of 10 we'll just gift it back anyway. It's been exactly the same for years. Yet somehow we find no way to sort it. It's like Levein didn't watch us any of the Davidson's team. This is identical.
  6. I think he means, cause we're pish. Which would be factually correct. Murder so far. Zero confidence on the ball beyond the half way line. Constantly panicked and very loose. On queue Robinson and Carey make an arse of it.
  7. It's not going to be 4-4-2. Robinson isn't playing left wing. It'll be Matt Smith at right wing back and 3-5-2. That's exactly what they did in the second half on Sunday.
  8. Ambitious appointments. Especially being able to persuade journalists to quit established jobs to take the role. Don't know the guys personally really other than an occasion passing conversation but hope it goes well! I do like in the past how they've given those cutting their teeth and opportunity to progress their skills (as long as they're paying them!!!) but I can see why they've gone down the experienced route now. Key point in the clubs history. Potential new owners and a chance to reinvent itself image wise to a certain extent. Going experienced gives them the best chance to get the right message out about the new potential ownership as well as trying to grow the brand marketing wise. Of course we know nothing about the future plans of ownership etc but if there is big news to come over the next 2-3 years beyond a new owner taking control it will be an exciting time to work in a role like that at the club. As for the pay wall interviews. I don't watch them very often when they're free so I definitely won't when they're paid for. Football player and manager interviews a cliche filled nonsense that means very little. They just say what they think you want to hear.
  9. Think Stan basically said never happening at one of the meetings when asked similar about hosting events in one in the car park
  10. If your in the right ball park though thats a substantial increase within 12 months. What it produced as well was no better than what it was with the much power wage bill as well.
  11. Wasn't there rumours of Clark's fee being around that an annual wage bill of near 5 million???? I dont follow the accounts much to be honest but that sounds wildly out of control (as I type this though I do start thinking... well we kinda knew it was out of control). Especially compared to turnover! That seems to be at least double what it should be?
  12. The council refused a bowling alley down there as they were concerned about the litter..... Thats the kind of planning challenges they'd face. That would be good for the club and the people of Perth and while times have changed in terms of council and budget challenges etc I just can't see the council okaying anything near the town whatsoever due to the traffic issues and lack of parking. Craigie Locals would have a meltdown as well. Happy for a new stadium but unwilling to allow it on their doorstep. Although things like that could well be alleviated by some kind of P&R system. Have a carpark elsewhere, shuttle people in and out etc. I just cant see it. If it does happen, it'll be in the middle of nowhere. Would it be crap for fans even further into the middle of nowhere, yes? Would the council care? No.
  13. I'm struggling to see the value in the land as well. What's going to be built on it? House builders at the moment have basically stopped
  14. I think people are just bored. If they genuinely wanted to renovate McDiarmid they could just do it stand at a time over a prolonged period to spread the cost etc. I think people are more speculate from the prospect of how does a new owner make any money out this. It's about increasing the match day revenue so increasing per person spend because they're not going to increase the crowd by huge numbers long term. Thats about more more hospitality space, more bar space to allow buses to come and drink pre match. Modernisation will also reduce ongoing running costs. Moving to a new stadium would potentially take 10 years anyway. I can't see planning being straightforward for example. No chance would it be allowed in the town centre.
  15. I love all the ideas. I'd just settle for them having a bar that doesn't sell pints of flat piss! Much lower expectations
  16. I still can't work out if hes at it or just the village idiot? It's always a fine line with folk like him though I suppose.
  17. Talking some shite there. For a start the profits from the sale are being donated to charity.
  18. Based on other American owners of clubs the more time they spend on the golf course and away from the club the better
  19. Imagine the meltdown form some of the locals if a stadium was proposed they'd need 5 years to work through just to wade through the objections raised! I don't fear an asset strip. If the Brown's were willing to sell to someone else so they could asset strip they'd have just done that themselves prior to selling. Although I presume thats what you're also thinking! So using those rough numbers. If they got 8 million then it's going to take minimum of 10 years for the buyer to break even. That's without anything going wrong and it being incredibly ideal scenario. Which won't happen. Just isn't a sensible investment at those kinds of levels without there being another motivating factor - I hope it's just that they love football and Scotland
  20. That was in the press a while ago and my first thought was that it absolutely reeks of the Browns selling Saints their land that they can't get shot of or build on out there. Moving isn't necessary at all but if they did not out there. Somewhere within civilisation please.
  21. Summed up my feelings also. Debt for very little then years of debt pain after. I know that sounds negative but it's much closer to the reality of what will happen. Much more likely anyway than it going smoothly without issue and not being treated like a vanity project.
  22. If what was allegedly being asked financially for the club is true taking a dividend would take them about 400 years to make their money back That's why I don't think there's a business case for someone to buy through club. It's got to be a toy.
  23. That's always the fear for me. Becoming a rich persons play thing. Pile the club into heavy losses chasing that dream with his toy and then when they get bored walking away, not putting another penny in and the club having to struggle to manage the book while carrying the debt. Beyond it being a play thing I cannot see a single reason why a foreign investor would buy Saints.
