Not sure where you're finding the humour in this.

Wasn't the wee boy I seen. It's cool though you can all jump to conclusions and assume I was talking about the wee boy and laughing at him 👍 cause that's the usual on the internet. About 6 of you quoted me jumping to that wrong conclusion.

It was an idiots who lit and chucked them getting his hand treated  I seen🖕 is everyone wanting to feel sorry for and jump to his defence as well?

  2. My question is will they have learned anything from the game against Dundee at Dens?

Wing backs completely isolated in wide areas defensively especially on our right side. If we allow that again the result will also be the same.

We started two up front at Dens and while we weren't brilliant we dropped off even further when they withdrew Kimpioka and tried just holding on.

Well...I take it this is your doing @RandomGuy.

I imagine it's probably something that  one of new media guys at Saints have gone to the Courier with "here's a wee exclusive for you".

Both previously worked at the Herald and Perthshire advertiser(owned by the Record) doing sports coverage. Both Saints fans too and no doubt will hate VAR also.

I don’t want relegation but if we were and went back up in one season with a team scoring loads of goals every week the fans would be encouraged and crowds improve. It would be a joy to watch. The atmosphere at games would be electric.

I must have had a dream.

The season in the Championship with crowds of 2000 through that winter months would be far from electric though 😂

Saints going down and bouncing back quickly IMO is unlikely as we'll find it hard to build a squad unless we somehow get a number of younger players stepping up and we've yet to see much hope of that.

The one thing at the moment that can attract players to Saints even with the relatively average wage is it's top flight football and it gives them a chance to use it as a stepping stone.

If we went down we'd still have Championship clubs able to attract players ahead of us because they'll pay more than us. The likes of Queens Park will be offering better money than us next season if we're in the Championship, especially off the back of the 2 million losses and another year this year which will also include a decent loss I suspect.

New ownership may change things of course!

I'd just rather not go down I think 😂. Some of the suggestions of "but new places to visit" comments that people make on the banter page etc... I just don't get the appeal. Falkirk? Dunfermline? Great.... 🤷‍♂️

No doubt  the response will be to “tweak” VAR but I honestly don’t think I have seen a version of it anywhere in the world which fans will consider ok.

    Yup.

In the same way they told us the problems at the start were "teething problems" that are still continuing and arguably worse now.

Emailed my club (Raith Rovers) today on behalf of our group of 7 ST holders.

Thanks to the OP and colleagues for the kick up the arse!

For some reason whenever i've seen Raith fans having a great time, last min winners etc.

The first thing I think is... Just wait until they promoted. VAR is going to ruin it! :(

Not having Phillips contribute much in terms of goals and assists would be fine if he was the midfield disrupter and others were getting the goals and assist, but we have all our current midfielders not contributing enough to goals.

Phillips, Max and Smith, (could even throw in Crawford and MacPherson) are all decent technical footballers, but offer way way to little in terms or real offensive contributions.

Possibly unfair on Philips as he breaks things up and Smith does try to get the ball forward, but generally, the are not contributing enough.

I'll be proved wrong with stats I'm sure, but I wouldn't be surprised if our midfield have net backwards and sideways passes vs forward and if it is positive to the forward, it won't be by much.....

Funny thing is Crawford has probably scored more than the rest of the names have combined for Saints 😂😂😂

I know one stat (if it ends up being correct) in isolation means very little though.

  8. Maxwell: "I know what'll get fans on side about VAR. I'll be rude and patronising, that'll DEFINITELY help things."

    p***k.

The fact they see the fans are to blame and not the officials just proves that things simply will not change. They believe they're doing a great job.

Sadly I am in the "will do none of the above" category.

While I think VAR in its current iteration is awful and makes the experience for fans dreadful, I dont believe the authorities have any inclination to do anything about it, nor will they take much account of what fans say.

Same. I'll just be going a lot less as I don't enjoy it the same.

The evidence that backs up exactly what you've said as well is they don't generally give a shit about anything else that detracts from the fans experience so why would VAR be any different. Especially when it's something the authorities actively want.

  10. The going every week pattern has been broken for me. I do still look forward to going to Edinburgh for the day out for the Hibs game for example though but... Forget going to Motherwell midweek for example while this team offer me nothing in terms of excitement.

It'll be make or break for many fans in the summer whether we stay up or not. A massive upheaval of the playing squad isn't ideal but if there isn't one, the fans who feel negative about it the squad are going to be very angry if a few of the failure players are offered new deals they don't deserve.

I don't feel the same resentment towards the current management that some others do. While I'm not exactly happy about it my patience is probably because I don't see them solely to blame for the current squad or state of things. Although I do feel much more negative than I did around the clusters of midweek games pre winter break as I felt over a period of time while things weren't perfect and it didn't always work I felt i could see in patches of games what seemed like a plan in possession. Since then though they've binned that direction and just gone into just being extremely negative and trying to play on the counter against everyone 💩 very much mirroring Davidson's way of things and the direction that went. Most of the January signings have offered nothing.

As for off the field 🤷‍♂️ it's just in a permanent holding pattern until a new owner takes control. I did think the plan to get new ownership would result in the club seeming frozen and not willing to make decisions with off the field matters. Not too sure that's been the case but others will know more than I do.

Once a new owner comes in my guess is we'll get the new owner excitement which will fade away when it's evident they don't have a fucking clue.

This team means absolutely nothing to me. Genuinely wouldn't be upset if every single one of them left in May. Mitov maybe the exception.

I'm going to the next game as my wee ones are the match day mascots and after that will I spend money and time going down the A9 to watch us misplace every pass? Probably not.

Pretty much how I look at away games. Can I be arsed traveling to the likes of Aberdeen or Paisley... 👎 Absolutely not.

Would go to every game but I've only attended 1 away game in 2024. VAR ruining it is also part of it also. Have I missed it, no not really.

Will try to get behind them when it comes to the crunch though 😬
