  1. Well, if Coll sees it differently to me then I am not going to argue! Full John Terry is class as long as he only means fully stripped. We seem to have a great dressing room so hope he doesn't have his eye on a teammates wife.
  2. Just watched the highlights and our second goal shows the brilliant work that Ross Maciver does that doesn't show up in any statistics. He doesn't score or get an assist but the goal doesn't happen without him. My angle in real time isn't too different from the FTV angle so I appreciate other opinions but it's a very harsh red I think. Coll gets the ball first, isn't anywhere near head height and is in no way malicious. It is chest height and the follow through gets the Kelty player so it's a yellow but I'm not seeing a red card offence there. Nevertheless, it gave the players another reason to demonstrate how superb they are and it gave the fans another chance to step up in support too. Think that was real collective effort to keep the unbeaten run going, against a team that I thought were very good. 2 to go and 2 more collective efforts needed but even if we come up short of an invincible season (and regardless of it "only" being league 1) this is so so good right now.
  3. This for me is why this season is so special. We could have been looking at part time football and probably lost the number of fans through gate that we've ended up gaining this season. Who knows where that would have led? Instead the club is more together now than ever. Fan ownership can't be underestimated but the ultras, I think, have helped build a connection between fans and players just as much (thank you!) and despite the pressure on the team and the manager, we've won the league at a canter, playing some outstanding football. I don't think it's too big an exaggeration to say this season was do or die..... and we've done it in some style!
  4. Folk can have differing opinions on Eddie May the player, Eddie May the academy manager or Eddie May the 1st team manager but it is irrefutable that his disco pants were second to none.
  5. There are 6 games left for the whole team, including the management team, to become legends.
  6. I'm happy to put forward a potentially unpopular opinion here: I think we are currently better than Rudden can offer. I also don't see how he fits in to how we play and, I honestly don't see him as the gold that others do. Quite frankly he's a bit of sweetcorn standing out amongst the shite that was there at the time. When we go up I hope our aspirations are higher than the players who took us down. Move on.
  7. Surprised there's been no mention of the Accies fans who "left" at 3 - 0 only to reappear 5 minutes later when Accies scored. Think I spent the rest of the first half laughing at that. Brilliant performance today. Despite some of the comments around goalkeeping, I thought that it was only a few wayward kicks that went wrong and the save at nil - nil was big, and we blew them away after that. Hamilton scored from our slack play (I thought offside but others around me disagreed) and a set piece but, with about 15 minutes to go I felt we were comfortable and extending our lead looked more likely than a draw. That said, they aren't as bad as their fans make out; we are just much better.
  8. If Brad McKay can move on I'd be tempted to just save the cash. This loan allows Henderson drop back if need be as Yeats can cover midfield, there's Logan who's been on the bench lately and Mackie to come back. All I think would be better options. At 30 years old and his contract up in the summer I think McKay must have quite a bit to mull over now. Not an easy position to be in but it's the brutal reality of football I guess.
  9. It has to be remembered that Hartley will be holding back a fair chunk of his budget to empty all his summer signings and put another new squad together in January.
  10. The statement put out by the club states that as well as 2 seats on the board, the FSS will receive support in growing its membership and shareholding. If that is in-line with what's in the formal agreement then it seems as though the club may not be adhering to it and therefore FSS could be within their rights to withhold donations. https://www.falkirkfc.co.uk/2023/05/31/fss-to-become-major-shareholder-in-ffc-after-succcessful-application-to-scottish-government/ At the very least it would seem sensible for any funds provided to the club to be made via a mechanism that allows for a conversion to shares in the future to prevent dilution should other investment be raised. My suspicion, from the clubs perspective, is that they possibly think that FSS effectively holding a veto over any resolution that requires a shareholder vote (with 75% support) could deter other investors. I'm in favour of fan ownership so personally think the board should allow FSS to hold 25% + 1 share in the club and work harder to find an investor who is comfortable with the arrangement, albeit they will be far rarer. Anyway, that's my tuppenceworth here because I can't attend the meeting on the 1st. Do I need to change my username now that I've posted for a second time?
  11. I read this forum on and off, mostly around transfer windows or when something specific is happening around the club, to see any rumours or gossip but, I would never normally think about posting. However, after reading the last few pages I've signed up only to say thank you to: The Crunchie Initiative Those who have organised FSS The patrons group The new board All club volunteers Why on earth anyone would raise their head above the parapet to try to do something good for this club knowing that they'll be met with the criticism and derision we've seen far too often from Falkirk supporters is beyond me. These people have though and they've invested a hell of a lot of their own time and money in doing so. Without knowing any of them, it's clear they are Falkirk people trying to make our club, and the community attached to it, better and that deserves thanks and encouragement. Who knows the talent we have in our fan base that is put off from volunteering to help by the criticism they know they'll receive? It is holding the club back. If we all want the club to improve we need to welcome and encourage anyone who is willing to try to improve it. So thank you to everyone who is doing so.
