  1. Friendly with Dungannon Swifts tomorrow night who are in the Northern Irish Premier League. More importantly are any of their players signed up to Consilium and even more importantly do they play left back or centre back?
  2. Doesn't seem likely, noticed from the game yesterday there was only one substitution made so I'd imagine the likes of Todorov, McGill and Telfer will be starting today.
  3. Read from the interview that the team are away to Coleraine tomorrow for pre season training. @Mr November mentioned that Brighton have a Northern Irish striker Ben Wilson who's out of contract just now. On the Brighton website it actually says that he was signed from Coleraine so if we're playing 'Consilium Bingo' then I'm taking him on my card.
  4. Pretty sure Miracle Okafor and Dylan Ruiz Diaz will be saved for tomorrow's cup final.
  5. Funnily enough the article does state that he is 'highly rated'. I don't really know what the standard is like in the Northern Irish league but 5 goals in 31 games is pretty decent for a winger at 17 years old. If we have pretty much the lowest budget in the Championship we'll need to think outside the box when it comes to signings so I definitely wouldn't be against it if we pulled off signing him on loan. Not quite the 'West Ham Striker' but a 'West Ham Winger' is the next best thing.
  6. Go into the Airdrie thread with lots of unread posts thinking I've missed a signing. Oh never mind...........
  7. Think it was mentioned on the QOS thread a while ago but I think Euan East would be a pretty good signing. I'm sure he played in the same team as McCabe down there and he's in his early 20s so always room for improvement too. Thought he looked good the last time QOS played us. I think Darren Brownlie would be a shout too as he has Championship experience and that's what we really need in defence. Left back is a tricky one, with Brody Paterson I think the last time he played was back in January and I don't really know how bad his injury was. The only other one I can think of if we are going down the 'Celtic loanee route' again would be Matthew Anderson. All pure speculation of course as I'm not ITK but I'm looking forward to whoever we bring in. The article did mention that deals had been agreed and it was just paperwork to sort out so hopefully some news over the weekend or early next week.
  8. I'm not too concerned with the latest signing, McCabe has said in recent interviews that he likes to develop young players so it's no surprise that we've signed players at 17/18 year old. I'm sure it's likely he'll slot into the reserves. I'd be concerned if we were planning to play a midfield 3 of McMaster, Aiken and Elliot Dunlop against the likes of Dundee United etc but that would be highly unlikely. However I do think within the next few weeks our priority should be signing a left back, centre back and a holding midfielder that are all Championship quality. The goalkeeping situation isn't too concerning we have plenty of time to get a youngster in as well as another wide forward ideally. One of my mates showed me the screenshot of some of the tweets on the Airdrie account today and all I can saw is 'ffs'. I'm glad I don't have twitter or I'd be permantley raging at the tweets . Also good luck to Euan Deveney hope he does well at Alloa and he's a decent signing for league 1 level.
  9. I think at this moment in time I'd agree with posters from other teams about us finishing 9th/10th. I would certainly bite your hand off for 8th place but on the back of getting promoted I'm just buzzing to be in a higher league and having better games to go to. I watched quite a few of the Championship games on a Friday night and there wasn't a great deal between a lot of the teams. I definitely think Airdrie would struggle with the physicality against teams like Ayr and Morton etc. I'm certainly not underestimating the opposition we will be playing and the step up. We definitely need to sign at least 4/5 quality players to at least make us competitive. That being said I'm not going to go to the games this season completely dreading it either, I think any fan of any team would be looking forward to the new season on the back of promotion. So it's definitely an exciting time to be an Airdrie fan. We've had discussions on the Airdrie p&b page about some wild takes from Facebook/twitter etc but as it's already been pointed out, those are we guys who I'd imagine are around 13/14 years old.
  10. Highlight of the pre season photos, big Todorov looking worse than me going to my work on a Monday morning
  11. Excellent news to hear that McGill and Telfer have pretty much agreed to sign up (albeit not been officially announced yet). Is that now 14/15 in total that have signed up? I'm sure Telfer was in the video training with the rest of the team as well. That training outfit for this season is stunning, particularly the tops that the management team are wearing.
  12. I'm pretty sure Ian Murray will find a way to fit in your many midfielders into your starting 11 so I wouldn't be surprised at some point to see Callum Smith at left back and Scott McGill at centre back. I hope you're able to experience 'Murrayball' when he chucks on 6 strikers as it's pretty entertaining. I remember a game years ago I think we played Partick Thistle in the league Cup and we played a formation that had Nat Wedderburn as our only midfielder in a midfield one so gone are the days of Ian Murray playing teams with no midfield. If you are going to sign another midfielder I'm pretty sure Jamie Barjonas would be a shout with his connections to Potter. I don't think he has a club yet and I'm pretty sure he'll be linked with Raith.
  13. Yeah you're probably on that one, Monday perhaps if not through the weekend? Wouldve been quality going into the weekend with a 5.30pm announcement again to keep the good news coming but I'm pretty patient . I remember last year the club released photos of the players in pre season, could be some new faces amongst them.
  14. I was just about to post the same thing, other than Connor Smith he was the only one that stood out for me and I think he'd have given us a bit more physicality in midfield. Great for Hamilton getting him signed up on a two year deal, was certain he'd go to a Championship team. Still early days though and still plenty movements to happen yet, would it be too much to ask to get the pen out for tonight going into the weekend?
  15. I was think this year's 3rd kit is more Fiorentina 2014 inspired rather than Harchester United Notice that their kit manufacturer back then was also Joma. In 2019/20 Joma made some decent kits for us so I've got plenty faith that the home and away one's will be crackers.
  16. I'm sure McCabe said in one of his interviews Dean McMaster reminds him of a 'young me' so I'm not surprised to see him sign up. He's always talked about signing young players and developing them too so if he's a squad player I'd probably rather him than some other league 1/2 jobber to pad out the squad. I can see the both sides to signing him, I'm not the most excited about it but at the same time he's still young and can improve. I'd probably put him in the same category as 'McGregor'. Still hoping we can get a more physical and experienced holding midfielder signed up but great to get some business done early.
  17. Number 23 is coming up today on the 30 days of player profiles. There's a certain striker from Yorkshire that wears the number 23, hopefully up next
  18. Pump Dumbarton Pump Dundee Pumped off Inverness Lose on Penalties to Bonnyrigg It's the Airdrie way in the League Cup group stages
  19. Out of the Cup Winnings Trialists we signed Euan Deveney, Jay Riley, Alex Henderson, Bright Prince and Charlie Telfer so a few more than the previous year though I might be missing some, those are from the top of my head. Forgot how bizarre the signing of Telfer was considering he played a trial game in June and didn't take until September to sign, apparently he was 'exploring other options' which meant he had zero offers elsewhere and then signed for us.
  20. How can you not be excited for the NL Cup? You get to see such talented players like Miracle Okafor, Josh Jack and Dylan Ruiz Diaz?
