  1. If you offered me 4th place after the first quarter I would've definitely bitten your hand off for that! I thought Megwa was excellent tonight, dealt extremely well with everything that came towards him and looked good going forward. For the goal it was great work from Magic pressing the defender into a mistake and a composed finish from Gal. For the goal we conceded it was very sloppy and I think Josh Rae was far too casual on the ball, I'm very much enjoying our style of football but on occasion we do need to mix it up and be a little more direct at times. I thought a draw was the fair result overall but can't say I'll ever be in a hurry to watch that game back again. 13 points from 9 games in a higher league against better opposition without making too many changes over the summer is very promising.
  2. Watching this still brings a big smile to my face, what an unreal day that was, I don't think I'll ever get tired of watching this! https://twitter.com/AirdrieoniansFC/status/1713193181875945531
  3. Corella at King Tuts last night, pretty decent indie band and went along as they came up on my Spotify recommendations list.
  4. I completely forgot about the 'boring shouts'. The first thing that came into my head was 'since when did Nelson Muntz become a Morton Fan'
  5. Massive win for Airdrie today!! Game wasn't exactly a classic but it's great to know that we can be able to grind out results. I think Morton lacked creativity going forward, I never really felt threatened by them during the game and apart from the effort off the post in the first half, they didn't really look like scoring. Was worth getting absolutely drenched in the WDE to see a Lewis McGregor Masterclass!!
  6. The only highlight of playing Rangers in the lower leagues was the fans singing to Moshni 'you're just a cheap Amoruso!!'
  7. Thoroughly enjoyed the game today thought we were excellent defensively and especially with how we moved the ball in midfield. Mason Hancock and Ballantyne were both superb, hard to call a man of the match between the two of them. Their must've been well over 20 passes for our goal as well, great movement and a great finish. Delighted at the reaction from the team to be able to bounce back from last week, massive 3 points today. I did think it was a pretty even game, Easton was completely wasted out wide and that's the poorest I've seen him, he's so much more effective playing as a number 10 through the middle, the triple substitutions were also completely ineffective too towards the end of the game. I still think Raith will be up there in the play offs towards the end of the season, wouldn't massively panic if I was a Raith fan. We played well against Dundee United and Dunfermline and got nothing so it's nice to be on the end of a victory in a fairly even game.

  9. According to this article by the BBC, Ian Murray will be in the home dugout on Saturday.....
  10. A defender that can cover right back and centre back is exactly what we need, ideally competition for Janny's position too. Played 9 times for Kelty last season, can't say I remember too much of him so a bit of an unknown quantity, but I'm sure they'll be able to fill you in on him on their forum. That's 3 loaness all signed from Hibs in the squad now.
  11. The changes I can see are Aiken replacing McCabe, McGill replacing O'Connor and possibly Hancock replacing Watson switching over to left back. I'm not sure that front 3 would work with Gallagher being played as a winger, wouldn't be against Todorov starting but I think it'll be a front 3 of McGill, Gal and McGregor. We definitely miss Callum Smith on that wide left position, hope he and all of the ex Airdrie players have stinkers on Saturday.
  12. Wasn't at the game today so I can't comment on the overall performance but there's some things that are major concerns at the moment. Our disciplinary record is absolutely shocking, I'm not sure how many red cards we have had between the start of last season and just now but surely that has to be addressed. Another game where it looks like we have completely capitulated like the two Edinburgh games and the Dunfermline one. Having watched the goals back all of them are completely embarrassing especially McCabe for the 3rd, I don't believe that's setting a good example for our younger players in the squad. I really do think we need to try and get another defender in, we've only brought in Mason Hancock and he's barely featured so it's the exact same defence as last season. Fully expected to take a good few pumpings in the Championship especially with the way we play but there are a few major issues that need to be addressed and the management team need to take responsibility for allowing these makes to keep on happening.
  13. I think McCabe and McMaster are playing together to try and win the midfield battle, plus I'd we are going a bit more direct then McCabe's passing range is good for that. Personally I'd have started Aiken ahead of him as he's been excellent but I can see why he's done it, imagine we'll be using both McGregor and O'Connors pace on the wing too.

  15. Genuinely have no idea how Virgil Van Dijk and Matthijs De Ligt are going to cope now.
  16. I've been to the last 6 games between Airdrie and Dunfermline, I respect posters on here can have different opinions but you cannot be more wrong. Whilst Dunfermline are a very frustrating team to play against as they are very good defensively, the games between ourselves in recent times have been very entertaining with goals, drama, comebacks and red cards etc.
  17. 'One word to describe myself is that I'm magic'. That'll do for me, welcome aboard Liam!!

  19. Was having a look at the free agent list the other day and Blaine Rowe doesn't have a club. From what I remember he was pretty decent for Falkirk when he played us in the 3-1 game. I'd be happy with him or Euan East if we are gonna sign another defender as a free agent, McCabe can cover centre half if need be too. I think that's more the pond we are fishing in rather than 'GMS and Wotherspoon' etc.
  20. That was a massive 3 points today, the Airdrie team of last season would've collapsed like a pack of cards going down to 10 men but I was impressed with the way we managed to hold out and show some resilience to grind out the win. We definitely weren't at our best today but any win is massive in the Championship. With 6/9 points in the league and winning 4 of our league cup group games it's been a fantastic start to the season. Only downside is Frizzell missing the Dundee United game. Lewis McGregor was excellent today, he's certainly starting to come onto a game this season, both him and McMaster had very good games. Onto Tannadice next week!!!

  22. When he played against us he was their best player last season, I think he did score half of his goals against us too . It took us till the play offs to suss him out, once we doubled up on him, all he did was dance around the 18 yard box like a wee f*nny, his performance in the 2nd leg of the play off semi was pretty embarrassing (like most of their players tbh). It'll be interesting to see where he ends up, he's been on loan to pretty much half of the Championship and must've been on a decent wage at Rangers, like yourselves I wouldn't particularly want him at Airdrie.
