  2. Don Cowie, if he keeps County up somehow, will be a superb achievement. It's been a mess of a season really. It can happen, but let's face it, it's going to be very tough to avoid the play offs. Dragging Motherwell into it, St. Johnstone obviously. Can't see Aberdeen go down, but strange things can happen if County win on Sat.
  3. Aberdeen v Ross County (Sat 30th March) Kilmarnock v Ross County (Sat 6th April) Ross County v Rangers (Sun, 14th April) 1 game at a time and all, but tough matches ahead. Kilmarnock will be extremely difficult, they are flying at the moment! McInnes will get them into Europe. The Rangers game, just hope for a County point of view that Celtic are pushing them damn close for the title. This could be a very nervy match for Rangers. About fuckin time County beat them!!!
  4. For folks actually from Glasgow that support Rangers & Celtic, while severly lacking imagination I don't blame them. I guess at least it's their 'local' team. It's those from every other area, like Inverness, Dingwall, that support the old firm that pisses me off. Have some imagination and support your local team. Even if parents from Glasgow, time to rebel for those with an imagination. Support a club just because your Dad does, rebel for FFS! I like Livingston, sad to see them relegated. Motherwell like as well (especially as Kettlewell with them) though obviously hope County catch them. Don't mind either Dundee or Dundee United. Great away day both sides. Aberdeen are fine with their impressive hatred of Rangers. Rangers/Celtic and to a lesser degree Hearts/Hibs with the religious bigotry can get to f**k! Times have changed, time to move on. St. Mirren, Kilmarnock, St. Johnstone don't mind. Same goes for any other team really. Don't have strong hatred for ICT either, it's a good derby and I like that it doesn't usually involve trouble.
  5. Do you think there will be a big attendance for the Dons for this match? County just need to turn up for once against Aberdeen, the previous matches this season for large parts County sat back and let Aberdeen completely dictate play and look great. While Miovski when on form is sheer class, the rest of the squad are are low on confidence. This game is f'in winnable, even though away from home! I hope to see County go for it, like they did last season against Dundee United. Hit them fast on the break, inteligent play, Dhanda to leave with a positive legacy FFS. I doubt Aberdeen will go down, but they aren't as good as County have made them look. A win would be superb.
  6. My pre-match optimism mixed with a few beers when I started this thread now being reminded of the actual results this season against the Dons: 3rd Sept '23 - Ross County 1 Aberdeen 1 (Akio equalising 5 mins into injury time, after it looked like Duk had won it for Dons on 88th min) 24th Sept '23 - Aberdeen 4 Ross County 0 (Shocking considering the run Aberdeen had been on) 27th Sept '23 Ross County 1 Aberdeen 2 (a superb Shinnie goal to be fair) - League Cup 2nd Jan '24 Ross County 0 Aberdeen 3 (a match I missed) For as bad as Aberdeen have been, County have been terrible against them it has to be said.
  7. I hope to see a big turn out of County fans for this. I'm gonna get the train myself. A decent performance is all I can hope for, Aberdeen despite their win against Motherwell are edgy, nervous and if County can be solid defensively, keep it 0-0 for a while, this match is winnable. This is the time for the fans to turn out, avoid the play offs as this year I don't fancy our chances against Raith/United or worst of all the Partick Thistle revenge. St. Johnstone can't score, Motherwell aren't out of sight and a nervy, tense atmosphere in this, it's a game for even the neutrals. Let's face it, whatever team you support, Wimpy & The Mallard you want County to stay up.
  8. VERY early for a match thread perhaps with the Scotland friendlies in-between. To save others googling Netherlands away Fri 22nd (Viaplay... I refuse to give them money, f*** em!!) Whilst at least the Scotland v Northern Ireland home match on Tue 26th is on BBC, 7:45pm K.O. Once that passes, on Sat 30th March this relegation battle. Why is it not on Sky, nah, that is Livi v Celtic of course The fact that a team with Miovski, Duk etc are fighting to avoid the play offs is hilarious. Am I the only one sensing similarities between this game and the Dundee Utd away match last season? Dhanda is back and will be fit, Murray on form. County's squad is for sure thin, best not over analyse now. Overall it has been a dismal, depressing & very unsettling season. Yet, there is hope. Simon Murray is turning into one of my favourite players in recent years! Murray has such a superb attitude & work ethic, gives 100% It's brilliant to see an attitude like that especially through the changes of managers. If others players could do the same... while the squad is not the best, we wouldn't be in the position we are now. Now County just need Jordan White to do his hatrick thing like last season and Aberdeen will be in trouble!
  9. The County defense will have to be on their best form to keep Shankland quiet. From a Scotland point of view it's great to see him at the top of the scoring charts. At least Liam Boyce is not playing (still injured?) as otherwise could see him scoring. I wasn't impressed much with Hearts in the last home game, they were poor but County toothless that day. Deservedly lost. Not been to any of the away matches against Hearts, but seem to be playing well in those from what I heard. Today I'm not confident at all, in the 1st half against Hibs, Hibs were there for the taking. 2nd half was dismal, 'hoofball' exactly and lucky to scrape a draw. A victory here and if Motherwell beat Aberdeen, which seems likely, the Aberdeen match at end of month reminds of that 0-3 victory against Dundee United last season. Go on Hearts, lie down and let Dhanda do his skills. Hope to see Dhanda start, if fit enough.
  10. After the 2nd half performance last night, I'm not optimistic at all for the home match on Saturday against Hearts. However, that Aberdeen away match on Sat 30th March is winnable. Just hope Livi don't go on a winning streak as otherwise...
  11. I can't see County winning against Hearts sadly, however that Aberdeen away match, anything is possible. Don't think Aberdeen will go down, even if they ended up in the play offs, however something is wrong at that club with the talent of players like Miovski, Duke etc!!
  12. The 1st half I thought was ok, was quite even though 1-0 probably flattered County a bit. Thought County did well enough in 1st half, tried to play. 2nd half was indeed brutal! Cowie didn't sign any of these players, nor get a Jan window. Whether he is the man who should be in charge after end of season, is a discussion for another day. For now, it's not his mess.
  13. Good luck in the derby anyhow. If Turner plays, hope he plays well!
  14. There's a discussion going on in the County thread about Kyle Turner, even how the loan signing came about in the first place. Wonder if anyone here knows more about it? How ironic it would be if he Turner was to score the winning goal in the play off final against County!! Is he doing ok with Raith since he joined? It seemed a strange signing, especially when we knew Dhanda would be away from a County perspective. While obviously not in Dhanda's class (which is why Hearts have signed him...) on the glimpses I saw of him I thought there was a player there! Yet have heard Mullin is keeping him out the team occasionally. I do have a funny feeling it will be a County v Raith play off final and really, Raith would be favourites the way our squad is at the moment!
  15. Totally. Alex Samuel is a true gent, a genuine, very nice person. There are so many arrogant, flash players these days. Wasn't like that as much in the 80s. Don't mind so much if they players put the effort but so many don't. If County get relegated Samuel and perhaps Turner could be handy players to have. Someone has to replace Dhanda, question is is Turner good enough? With Samuel he ives 100% in a similar way to Murray. I like players in general that have that positive attitude, regardless of who the manager is. I won't blame Cowie if relegated, unless it's a like after a ridiculous run of defeats. The Championship is an exciting league to be in, where doesn't matter which position teams are, on the day anyone can beat anyone. I know financially it would hurt the club and the most of all the town. Would be great great to have the Derby back. As much as it would be funny to see ICT go down, would be strange without the derby. That match brings in new supporters.
  16. Murray out with a bug, Dhanda still injured. Can't say I'm entusiastic Here's hoping Hibs are totally off form. A point would be an excellent result in the circumstances.
  17. What a turnaround. Well done Arbroath. Hope ya catch ICT now!!!
  18. I rate Kyle Turner a lot, although been a poor game so far. Not as bad as County's match against St. Mirren which was shockingly bad!!! Away to Arbroath always a tough match, 3 points and it keeps Raith going for direct Promotion. 2nd goal there, great result for Raith. As for Abroath, sometimes relegation can give chance to rebuild etc. With Falkirk winning the league, possibly Hamilton promoted as well. Might not be ad bad as it sounds. First things first though, get a better manager lined up for next season.
  19. You certainly have a good point here, bad rumours about McIntyte up here. That's all I'm saying...
  20. As long as it is a better performance than Tue night, will take that. It can't get much worse. In what is to be a double header, playing Hibs at home on Wed 13th March, would be happy enough with 3 points over the 2 matches. 4 points would be better. So 2 draws it is...
  21. Well looks like Arbroath going down with McIntyre, so hey ho.
  22. Watching this to see County's potential play off opponents. That is IF County are lucky enough to reach the play offs. While I type Rovers score, oh well... Hope Arbroath win tonight, but can't believe Jim McIntyre is still managing! Should have stuck with Dick Campbell even if it mean't a relegation. While I was there when County won the league cup, great day & memories. Cannot stand Jim McIntyre!! Prefer Malky to him for reasons best left unsaid.
  23. FFS Aberdeen!!! Please don't lose to St. Johnstone. Unless the team seriously want a play off battle!
