  1. Just watched the Strollers highlights, couldn’t bear to watch that injury time equaliser before. Two points; - We should have had a second penalty on the stroke of half time, Dougie Hill totally got taken out by one of their defenders. - That save their goalie had from the deflected free kick, where he twisted back to get it was a thing of wonder. Well, a third point, we should have f*&£ing won that game. That is all
  2. I’ve given it another listen, but not convinced you guys are watching games you go to. I appreciate the comments were made with maroon tinted specs so fair enough, but to say there ‘wasn’t much between the teams’ at the Hearts B v Cowden game last Friday was hilarious. Did you miss the first 30 minutes of the game when we could have been 3 or 4 up but for a wonderful performance from your keeper, which continued in the second half with another string of saves. Only chances I remember for Hearts were the goal and one right near full time. Also ‘worst game of the season’. Why, because you lost? And don’t forget the obligatory dig at the Cowden fans, same as the last episode.
  3. Great to get all the lads who have been more on the bench some game time. Hope Dougie is close to returning and Scott Walker ok.
  4. Good news. Defence appears a bit frail tonight, wasn’t expecting to ship 4 goals
  5. While I do not condone this sort of (alleged) behaviour in any way, I have seen mention of a 10 game ban, that would seem totally disproportionate to me, and a longer ban than you might receive if you injured someone with a dangerous tackle. I would also hope the powers that be would take into account the players age, whether he has any previous before slapping any lengthy ban. Some sort of educational course would be much better than a long ban. I don’t think the club fining the player either would serve any purpose when they get paid relatively little.
  6. They do, and I don’t think so. There are other very good teams and well put together squads, but I think EK will grind out results, when others may have spells of inconsistency. Still early days though.
  7. Couldn’t give a toss about EK my friend, produce evidence, yeah ok You do sound a bit touchy about others perceptions of EK though. You should be basking in the glory of today’s demolition job, grab a beer and relax.
  8. Nice wee glossy 4 pager done by Hearts last night for a quid. Managers notes, reports from recent matches and a wee bit about Cowden on the inside two pages, with the squads on the back. Sad that some chancer is trying to get £6 for them on EBay
  9. Exactly, it’s easy to be patronising when you could have hit double figures. Anyway, no saying any more about EK on this thread, at least until we play them.
  10. Wound up, not me. Strangely the Gala fans we were sitting around us up the social club end of the stand didn’t seem to share your enthusiasm that there was some sort of love in between the two sides and that the officials were balanced in their decisions. If you missed the niggle that crept in second half you can’t have been paying much attention. Did you miss the swing of the arm (and miss) that one of your players took at the Gala player? Referee chose to ignore completely. It was really cute second half when Mick draped his arms around the referee while they were both by the touch line, thought he was going to maybe give him a neck massage. Lovely.
  11. I’ve no doubt they are interesting to talk to, but there’s something about the pair of them that I can’t take to. Was down at Gala/E Kilbride today, and Kilby won it at a canter, goalie had some good saves to keep the score down to 6. Seriously, this team will take double figures off someone soon if they have the mind to. Even when they were on easy street Kennedy was preening about like prime Juergen Klopp, nipping at the officials constantly. Thought EK were quite cynical as well, trying to wind up the Gala players. I don’t think Gala are a very good side, so hard to make a judgement, and I haven’t seen Tranent yet, but I think EK will win the league with something to spare, sadly.
  12. Great start to the weekend for all the fans, and it’s no even Saturday yet Time to head off to zzzzzz as it’s back to early starts and the grind of the kids football season. Only kidding, love it.
  13. Ah ok, I didn’t know what he shouted. A bit silly.
  14. Players chirp at each other all the time, really strong language used all over the pitch in every game you watch. Can’t think it would be that serious an offence, a bit more so if it was directed at the referee who I thought was pretty decent.
  15. That’s a good summation of how it felt. I thought the Hearts lads looked a bit shell shocked first half they were getting pushed back so much, Cowden players were closing everything down. Said it a couple of times but the Hearts keeper was immense, one I’ll be watching out for in the future.
  16. Yeah I heard the Hearts player yell that, but not what Rodden had said. What a snivelly wee snitch.
  17. He got it very tight from a few fans at the end, close quarters as well.
  18. Might be first home tonight The boys were magnificent tonight. Second half was a bit more even, but it was still Cowdenbeath who made all the chances and forced the keeper into further great saves. The goalie did make a mess of it for the penalty but he had a superb game, whereas Craig had very little to do saves wise. Not sure what Rodden did at the end, he had been booked before, possibly said something to the ref, not sure. Must have easily been 70-80 Cowden fans there again, maybe a bit more, gave them team great support and they in turn were very appreciative of the fans at the end. Must admit I was completely crapping it the last 5 minutes, there was one close thing but the boys held firm.
  19. Anyone not at the game may laugh at this but we should be 4 of 5 goals clear at the break. Hearts goalkeeper made some fantastic saves and Cowden were a bit wasteful on a couple of occasions. Then there was the lovely strike from miles out that went over the keeper but hit the underside of the bar and cleared. Controlled almost the whole game apart from a 5-10 minute spell approaching the break. Meh.
  20. Parking at Morrisons was fine when I was at the Cowden game last season when Spartans clinched the play off place. Not sure what the crowd will be tonight, think they got about 350 for their first home game when it was free versus Gretna, so doubt they will get any more tonight, so it might be possible to get in the car park at Ainslie Park, there are a decent amount of spaces.
  21. Happy with that, he turned in a few good performances, from memory he had a really good game down at Gala for one.
  22. Think the boy is a Lithgae fan, so I suppose their ground is pretty nice. Not that I would change it for Central Park
  23. Just listened to the Lowland League preview from a couple of weeks ago, decent listen despite the scurrilous nastiness about Central Park. Think you might have overestimated Albion Rovers prospects though
