  1. Highlights are up from yesterday. I forgot about Robbie’s sublime backheel flick in the lead up to the equaliser, which was a better finish from Zac than I thought at the time, they were both fine goals.
  2. It seems to be windy on the east side of Edinburgh permanently at the moment, Tuesday looks relatively ok, just gusts in the 20mph + range
  3. Robbie and Zac took most of the awards, with goal of the season to Josh Jack who is of course no longer at the club. I expect Robbie would have won that too for today’s winner, if it had not been already decided on. Got a couple of pics today of Elise with Craig and Robbie, thanks to Craig for the gloves, what a gent.
  4. I don’t mind saying well done to East Kilbride, if I won Euromillions next week, I’d chuck money at Cowdenbeath to get out the Lowland League as well, so congrats and enjoy the weekend. Please do us a favour though and make sure you win the play offs and clear off out of here.
  5. It was nice to turn that around, didn’t feel that it was likely for a while. And yes, the lounge is packed with the awards and the wedding on as well. Robbie’s goal was an absolute rocket.
  6. 1-0 to Gretna at half time. Not a classic surprisingly in the really strong wind. Reckon we can turn it round second half when we will have the advantage of the strong wind.
  7. Apart from service dogs, they don’t seem to be allowed. Hutchison Vale who play there as well always mention it on their matchday graphic.
  8. Thanks, wasn’t aware of the depth chart, that’s a lot of keepers.
  9. The entertainment at Cowdenbeath matches transcends mere monetary terms…
  10. Saw on Twitter this morning that Craig Hepburn has signed a 3 year extension with St Johnstone. Great news for Craig that he has this sorted out, I fully expect he will continue progressing up the leagues, unless St Johnstone will want him in the first team squad, perhaps as back up.
  11. Any news about the abandoned Montrose game, will fans who were there be entitled to get into the restage, someone mentioned if abandoned before half-time time we would be? I’m not really wanting to write off the £40 I paid for the 3 of us for absolutely nil entertainment, other than watching a bag of about 5 balls take off in the wind across the running track, that was quite something.
  12. Thanks for that, I must have been short of something to do the weekend before Christmas. I was probably allowed to go to that game with a pal without my Dad, he would never have let me go to Easter Road at that time aged 10 without him.
  13. I didn’t know Alistair, but I do remember Cheers. I used to go to Meadowbank a fair bit in the early 80’s and I seem to recall a friendly against a West Brom select (would that be right?) and the programme was the Cheers version rather than the usual issue, and it seemed to have so much to read in it and be less stuffy compared to the usual programme. I must have it up in a box in the attic, need to go up and have a look for it. RIP Angry Al.
  14. From memory Cowdenbeath had just over 300 (including a few away fans but not many) for the Friday night home match against Hearts on the windiest winter night you could imagine. I said at the time I would welcome them trying that now and again. A late summer Friday evening with a nice bit of weather could attract a decent crowd.
  15. I agree, am sure they will go again. Must have gone through a few hundred k this season though.
  16. Cowdenbeath played Hearts B both home and away on a Friday and I for one enjoyed both of them, nice way to end the working week, especially winning both of them.
  17. The capacity of K-Park is about 700. I expect that day there were about 550 Hamilton fans as it’s a couple of miles away.
  18. That’s not really that bad of a crowd, it’s approximately the average home crowd of the two teams added together, so not terrible in my opinion.
  19. I do not remember at all Tony Higgins being at Stranraer, but in looking him up he was there a few years in the mid 80’s.
  20. Probably not any worse, but Meadowbank is kind of really open to the elements, it just felt crazy, there was no quality football in the first 20 minutes whatsoever, players trying to play passes forward into the wind found it heading the other way instead. We had heard that Montrose didn’t think the game should have started (and you can understand that sentiment as they had everything to lose in the situation), they were right.
  21. It was awful, shouldn’t have started. Weird to say as it was a sunny and warm day. Montrose were kicking into it, a couple of times dead ball kicks literally did a 180 degrees and ended up behind where they started. Getting the ball to stand still for a goal kick was a nightmare, often 3 or 4 times it would roll back towards Cammy Gill before he could take the kick. This happened several times. A slightly misplaced pass would just take off into the distance, probably made worse in this case on the 3G pitch. Felt sorry for the Montrose fans who came down in good numbers. Abandonments are pretty rare, anyone know if refunds are issued or at least re-entry when it’s played, though that might not be much good for travelling fans midweek?
  22. Absolutely amazing that the game is on today, I gave it zero chance, credit to the ground staff. The rain has been relentless much of the week.
  23. So what would the ceiling be league wise for any B clubs prepared to start right at the bottom of the pyramid?
  24. Wonder if they will turn up on Saturday for the game when Blair isn’t there with his camera to make them famous for 5 seconds? My daughter knows a bunch of them from her year at school, so makes the kids 12-13 years old for the most part.
