  1. Someone has to be putting their hand in their pocket to fund CSS, even if it’s not on the scale of some clubs. Their crowds are negligible, they don’t appear to have any external fan funded schemes that a lot of clubs have. They have done an incredible job to be fair, and it gives hope for all clubs in the Lowland that a solid team can be built on not a huge amount of money.
  2. Hearts at home, Hibs had a big away game.
  3. Ironic really as they were closer to the flats with the drums and megaphone going most the evening. Well done to you guys tonight, great performance.
  4. If I had come down from Montrose for that (and there were a fair amount did) I would have been raging. The Mo fans seem very passive though, little dissension at all. Didn’t look like Montrose were up for it at all, whereas Edinburgh where biting into tackles and played very well. Seemed little urgency from Montrose until closer to the end, thought some of their players were less than committed. A few of the younger lads that came on second half didn’t seem up for the fight, a couple of them shirked 50/50 challenges which I would have been extremely pissed off with if I had been a Mo fan. Well done City, absolutely deserved victory. Seemed a decent enough crowd as well for a midweek game., probably as many there as for the first attempt.
  5. Really poor first half from a Montrose perspective, no urgency at all. City have been the better team and have carved out the better chances, Montrose have rarely threatened. Dick Campbell sitting almost in front of us, scouting mission
  6. What’s the crack with the wee gang of City ultras, are they banned from inside the ground? They’ve got into the wasteland bit on the opposite side, not sure if the club are just happier with them over there. Best view in the house mind you.
  7. It’s a braw evening. Crowd is building, extremely slowly right enough.
  8. It’s a wee bit windy again, though nothing like the other Saturday. Might as well head along as have tickets from the other week, and close to home.
  9. Great place to visit, love the ground, depending on the way you are driving a stop in Nairn is well worth it, beautiful beach there.
  10. The chap that presented the Andy Forbes trophy was his son of the same name, is that right? I was struggling to hear when he was introduced. Think I heard it said that he was a goalie and coach in his time, I take it that is the same person mentioned in the Jubilee Athletic article in Saturday’s programme?
  11. The team were on fire that night at Ainslie Park, especially the first half, could have been 3 or 4 ahead but for some great goalkeeping by the Hearts lad Liam McFarlane. I don’t get to all the games, but that game was the best I saw them play this season, plus a couple of the Viaplay matches they did very well against higher opposition at the start of the season.
  12. Ha ha, thanks for confirming, was a long shot.
  13. What are the thoughts of EK fans if the club fail in the play offs? Would Mick and co. be moved on and someone else given the chance, or would they be trusted with another big wedge by the club’s benefactors to try all over again?
  14. Any chance we squirrelled away the league cup cash to spend in 24/25, as that would not have been in any budgetary projections heading into 23/24 as only got the invite last minute?
  15. We are not a kick in the arse off 7th (which is really 5th if discount the b teams), can’t make it now of course, but for all those cheap points thrown away we could have been. And that would have seemed like real progress.
  16. Watching back the highlights it’s made me realise that it’s going to be over 3 months until the next competitive match at Central Park. Ok, the match wasn’t a classic and was certainly not helped by the wind, and our home form has been hugely frustrating, but I am going to really miss our Saturday trips across the bridge, spot of lunch if we are not rushing too much. On the way home always go the Hill of Beath/Crossgates way and give a wee tip of the cap to Jim Baxter’s statue as we drive past, even though I have no affiliation with this old club whatsoever, just think it’s a superb statue. Am I rambling? Yes. Not sure if anyone else is going to miss it, but I will, so there.
  17. Highlights are up from yesterday. I forgot about Robbie’s sublime backheel flick in the lead up to the equaliser, which was a better finish from Zac than I thought at the time, they were both fine goals.
  18. It seems to be windy on the east side of Edinburgh permanently at the moment, Tuesday looks relatively ok, just gusts in the 20mph + range
  19. Robbie and Zac took most of the awards, with goal of the season to Josh Jack who is of course no longer at the club. I expect Robbie would have won that too for today’s winner, if it had not been already decided on. Got a couple of pics today of Elise with Craig and Robbie, thanks to Craig for the gloves, what a gent.
  20. I don’t mind saying well done to East Kilbride, if I won Euromillions next week, I’d chuck money at Cowdenbeath to get out the Lowland League as well, so congrats and enjoy the weekend. Please do us a favour though and make sure you win the play offs and clear off out of here.
  21. It was nice to turn that around, didn’t feel that it was likely for a while. And yes, the lounge is packed with the awards and the wedding on as well. Robbie’s goal was an absolute rocket.
  22. 1-0 to Gretna at half time. Not a classic surprisingly in the really strong wind. Reckon we can turn it round second half when we will have the advantage of the strong wind.
  23. Apart from service dogs, they don’t seem to be allowed. Hutchison Vale who play there as well always mention it on their matchday graphic.
  24. Thanks, wasn’t aware of the depth chart, that’s a lot of keepers.
