  1. Kelty tickets now on sale. https://app.fanbaseclub.com/Fan/Clubs/Choose
  2. Hamilton's three latest signings celebrate the Accies win yesterday. Oh.
  3. Fair enough but the first goal was from his assist.
  4. My son was taken to games as a child and had to be bribed with sweets to stay quiet for the 90 mins while his mother and I watched. He never really took to the club or football despite being a Xmas mascot one year (although he did enjoy that). He's now graduated as a camera man (he says "cinematographer" but he's flexing) and thanks for one great guy on here (you probably can guess who) he went to shadow the latter doing his job at the Celtic Hibs game a few weeks ago. He found it an amazing experience. To my astonishment he asked if he could come to the match today (and didn't really know its importance). So he's coming and I may for once not have to buy sweets to keep him happy. Myself I drove back from Genoa in the last 3 days to be here for this match. I have a repetitive strain injury in my right ankle from the continuous driving but totes worth it. COYB.
  5. You can see why they've been flooding the park to avoid playing now.
  6. If you need cheered up see the 3rd, 4th and fifth goal here.
  7. Starting to think we could have beaten Aberdeen if we'd got through the cup - they are awful depsite holding on at 0-0 just now. Also the VAR at the game isn't working so the referee is doing what he is told by audio connection - in other words the referee in this game has given up his primacy in final decisions which is not meant to happen VAR is shit and needs to be scrapped.
  8. I have to go away and drive in Europe in the next few weeks but I am flexible on dates - selfishly I am quite pleased the Cove game is moved so I can include a weekend and not rush back. Any idea what date it may be moved to?
  9. So how large a fee would we be happy with if he did go?
  10. his old man got done for his support for the IRA did he not? Includinng a guy being gunned down outside his pub (where Stoakes has been at Real IRA related events) And this still has to come to fruition: On 6 January 2023, Stokes and another man were arrested in Crumlin, Dublin on suspicion of dangerous driving; the Gardaí allegedly found €4,500 worth of drugs in the vehicle. The two men were charged and bailed.[152]
  11. I often wondered if Stokes showed any of his later nonsense while he was with us? Any stories?
  12. Fair enough but we are asking someone to take time out of a Saturday evening when they would probably be happier in the pub with mates than sitting down at a laptop. Less pressure to get it up early but an expectation for better edits (for example we are not shown the substitutions and unless you are pretty au fait with who is on the bench etc., you might clueless as to the changes) would need some extra compensation surely? I know it is not easy and people are critical.
  13. Editing takes time: a rule of thumb I was taught when doing the edits for the Millennium Dinner films was one minute of image takes an hour to edit if done properly although highlights are slightly different from a full edit with music etc. I am never going to slag off a volunteer but a bit of investment would improve things and less expectation of early uploads. We don't really need 5 replays of the same goal - which shows it's being taken from the camera and the live stream. Paying someone to do a good job would be c. £50 - I know we are strapped for cash but that is surely findable. As for yesterday that has confirmed in my mind that we may never have to return to some of these awful grounds (Meadowbank is a given now that the points deduction has doomed Edinburgh City) and I am glad for it. I'm sure planning for next year has already started. Tait was very good when he came on - it's a shame he will struggle to get a start but how it goes. The kid has confidence and I bet McGlynn can get the very best out of him. Is he out of contract at Hibs this year? Finally I would bet Hogarth back in goals next week for the cup game but Long really made some good saves early on when Alloa were trying before we broke their spirit. This year has been some of the very best football I've seen us play in the 50+ years I've been watching us.
  14. Very upbeat and positive about our club. Good news.
  15. That's like the known nickname of stupid people in Nigeria as Dundee Uniteds because they played an awful tour there and the nickname stuck locally. Genuinely true. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2021/mar/11/the-unlikely-story-of-how-dundee-united-became-an-insult-in-nigeria
  16. He wouldn't fit in to the structure McGlynn plays - it'd be great to see him back but he cannot play 1 up front in the way that McIver does - playing the ball off to the advancing midfield or into the channels.
  17. Wish him (and Clyde well). This was probably the most predictable loan of this window. Thanks Jordan but sadly you don't fit this team's formation.
  18. If you want to see it from a different angle. Sadly Long's mistake for the first is much more apparent.
  19. Last year's cup run was profitable but not as much as we had hoped. The SFA reported that the costs for the OF semi were much higher than expected so instead of Falkirk being given more money after that game we had to refund some of the ticket sale cash we had taken in from our own semi. The profits from the two games are pooled and are shared out equally. That said I am very suspicious that some creative accounting didn't take place and we got screwed - there's no transparency in the costs and income - if the SFA cannot make good money from a Glasgow derby semi then they really are incompetent.
  20. My mistake I really thought that was PJ Morrison - oh well what do I know about football. Idiot moi.
  21. I always liked PJ and wondered why we released him. Watching the highlights a second time I guess he got his revenge yesterday without him they lose that game 3-1 or more. And the FPS is awful again - I would prefer if the highlights went up on a Sunday afternoon if it was to improve quality.
  22. I remember the long slow drive home on a B road that meant no-one could over take.
  23. Someone yesterday said it was a cliche that a bad pitch was great leveler - today disproved that. Our wingers couldn't play the ball or use their pace and ball control to get round them and we were forced to play a long ball game (once we wised up after 15 mins). I also think that that pitch suits the hammer throwers that Bonnyrigg are composed of. if that had beern at teh Falkirk Stadium we would hammer them. Oh well.
  24. The high winds forecast have not appeared - my dog walk was actually pleasant and not too cold. Other than the pitch surface the game should be OK. I'm looking forward to it.
