  1. Any year we have had better players McKenna always seemed to up his game and form relationships on the park with them. Nouble, Low, Hamilton and Hylton. Still a championship player so could do well for you guys. Still hopefully he will stay though
  2. I think he would get more out him and the way you guys play would suit him more. Definitely a player in there . Had heard murmurs from someone in the club Mikey McKenna turned down new deal and is going to Falkirk. Not sure if there’s any truth in it .
  3. Good player but very frustrating . Can hold onto the ball to often at times but that could be to do with the current team. Also heard another of our players is a done deal to Falkirk next season.
  4. We weren’t at the races last night but I’m looking at the positives of 6 wins in 7 games against full time teams before yesterday. That kind of form takes you up the top end of tables
  5. What’s the difference on concentrating on survival and aiming for a higher finish up the table. How do you approach games differently if you are just concentrating on survival. Play for draws ? Makes no sense to me. You play every game with trying to and expecting to win other the United games and possibly Raith away as things stand.
  6. After losing the first 3 , win the last game of the quarter and we are 4th at worst and possibly 3rd. Always count on this team
  7. Arbroath’s last two away performances 3-0 at Morton and 3-0 at Partick have been their best of the season. Strongly fancy us here. Scoring and creating chances every game
  8. Tattie was a regular poster when the team were on a poor run. Doesn’t post as much now, strange considering he calls himself a supporter
  9. 3 points from next 2 games to equal 21/22 first quarter . This team look just as good to me with arguably more quality attacking options. Priorities - Hylton new deal Scott Stewart new deal McKenna new deal
  10. Goldie when played there does a very good job at this
  11. I feel with another couple good solid signings the whole team will benefit and we can get more out every player. Tam missed a lot of the first part of the season injured and suspended. McKenna injured for half a dozen games. Lost a lot of players in August which is very unusual . Nicky Jason Craigen and Donnelly all away after the season had started. If we can get off to a good start and build momentum it will be a different season because there isn’t a lot between the teams . Just my opinion of course
  12. As it stands Gaston/Adams Steele/TOB/Little/Hamilton ( Gold&Stewart for cover ) Stewart/Dow /Balde/Slater/Gold/Allan/Jacob’s/ Dow/Stowe McKenna McIntosh That is a strong squad as it stands and only need probably 3 other good quality signings. No need for umpteen trialists . Another full back , another winger and 1/2 strikers
  13. I have been watching the team and not denying how good a player he is and how important he is but to say we would be well relegated without him is not true. Making great saves in a game we lose means he has won us no points in those games. Also had games we have won and drawn because the team have deserved the points ?
  14. How many points has he won us, genuine question. I can think of Morton at home he definitely won us that point. Any other matches ?
  15. Completely agree with a lot of these points . Don’t have the personnel to play long balls to a target man but still do. Missing out the midfield where we are probably strongest. Manager should see this ? Wing backs point is right as well. Look how many times JT would be around the box, by line, putting balls in, getting in at the back list for headers. Wing backs this year no where near that and a massive downgrade. I don’t think they’re a single player that has been brought in that is better than anyone we have lost . How are the core of existing players still expected to keep getting results like last year with a much weaker squad. At some stage the manager has to take criticism rather than hang others out to dry. You say you would give him another year which is interesting because you have stated a lot how bad this season has been but our manager has always been vocal in saying 8th is the target . We look like we are going to meet the target but you saying it’s a been a shocking season? Sounds like you having different aspirations to the manager
  16. I can see an Arbroath win Saturday. A midweek game up at Inverness after 4 midweek games in a row isn’t easy and team have 2 wins 2 draws and 1 defeat. Thrown in with a draw with the form team of the league last Saturday. Still one of the form teams in the league just now and something to play for unlike Raith imo
  17. Obrien, McKenna and Stewart all out for this game and next week. Shuffled pack again !
  18. First visit to Cove and looking forward to it. Already a very important game given how early on in the season it is. If we were at full strength I would really fancy us here. A lot will depend on who is fit and who isn’t making it. More hope after last couple weeks and some players starting to up their game. How have Cove been playing, unlucky to be sitting joint bottom ?
  19. Is that seriously your take on the game ? Allan kept losing the ball because our wingers are slow ? Wow
  20. I think there will be several changes for East Fife but Cove game should be picked based on main players back and how current players performed against Morton
  21. For the Cove game Tam back , Allan back, Ricky most likely back. Who starts and who drops out from last Saturdays game ? Few headaches for Dick
  22. Hilson shot ( saved ) and even the McKenna header first half were both closer than half these Morton chances. At least Arbroath highlights are not biased .
  23. First half was as good as any I have seen for a while ( also take into account our last few performances down there ). Hammy was outstanding at centre half and arguably his best position. Looks solid. Scott Stewart as well, so versatile and has so many great attributes. Midfield won a lot of second balls like Dougie Imrie said in his post match interview . Full backs got forward well and Oakleys delivery’s we’re superb. A real asset. Hilson playing off McKenna seemed to work, I thought the 2 of them together took us up the park much better than any other game, gave their centre half’s a few problems . Hilson gets his goal, McKenna makes another penalty this season and gets off the mark. Time to build on this performance
