Does anyone know if the new home top is sold out? I didn't realise it'd come out early, seen loads of folk wearing it today.

I thought today was one of those performances that makes you think "how are we so high up this league?" The amount of times the ball was given away was unreal. I don't think Partick had to play any better than okay to beat us comfortably. At Somerset, in a huge game.

We're quite similar, except we haven't been promoted from the second tier since the 60's. Just before my time of attending matches, Ayr were 2nd and 3rd on a few occasions during the Bill Barr era, late 90's/early 00's. I thought in 2018/19 we had a real chance, especially after 5-0 away at Dundee United, but after the nightmare of the Talbot cup result and apparently Shankland's head being turned, it seemed like we barely kicked a ball. The early season form was good enough to still get Ayr the last play-off spot, but we were outplayed by Inverness.

Apologies if this has been answered before. I'm kinda aware of the story behind the name change, but why didn't they just go for Edinburgh FC, if it had to be something other than Edinburgh City?

I ken you're at the wind-up, but I'll indulge ye anyway. What makes Morton a bigger club than Ayr? Correct me if I'm wrong, but you're challenging for the title for this season for the first time since like 1987.

When I was younger I'd have disagreed wholeheartedly, but now I'm a bit older, I agree to an extent. Having said that, I still enjoy the atmosphere in the SRE. During the Hopkin/Duffy era it was quite flat most of the time, but since Bully arrived it's definitely improved. The Ragazzi obviously play an integral part. Aye, but it was more like screaming in an attempt to get songs going. The Ragazzi were doing their usual thing as well, so I don't get what the point of it all was.

A drunk guy in the SRE, presumably an Ayr fan, was having a go at the folk around him for not singing seemingly and trying to start some kind of argument for basically the whole first half. He seemed to have a particular issue with the Ragazzi for some reason. One of the weirdest incidents I've seen at an Ayr game actually.

I thought it'd ultimately be Dipo getting injured which would derail our title challenge, but it seems that it has been losing both our centre halves at the most crucial point of the season. Shame, this was our best chance for years.

Yep, it'll either be Joma, Macron or maybe Puma, none of which I'd like. The modern templates by the lesser brands have lost all the charm that the likes of say Pony or Asics had during the 90's Obviously the club should take the best deal offered, but personally I'd like it if we went with an obscure brand. ZN Sport do a decent job with the Loch Ness kits.

The way Ayr's highlights are filmed, I doubt that it'd be any clearer. I'll take your word for it though, my eyesight is pretty bad.

Thought the refereeing was pretty dire today. Gave decisions the wrong way, blowed for things that weren't fouls. A Morton defender had both arms round Dipo more than once, did nothing about it. The disallowed goal seemed almost like "there's a lot going on in the box here, so I'm just gonna chop this off." A draw was a fair result I suppose. A wee bit frustrating we didn't get a winner with the half-chances late on, but a good crowd and still top.

It wouldn't surprise me if he had to vie for the position with a few other of the ghoulish collaborators booted after that General Election. Douglas Alexander, Michael McCann, Margaret Curran, et al.

Even by unionist standards, he seems extremely bitter about the direction modern Scotland has taken. I'd imagine he thought he had a job for life as Labour MP for Cathcart, until the horrid nats came along and upset the applecart for his ilk. It's not all been downhill though, he has since been parachuted into the boards of both the Scotland Office as well as the Advocate General and writes for the Telegraph.

In my experience, the Wee Alba Book is being received well by the public and fellow independence supporters, including SNP acquaintances. You'd think fellow nationalists would welcome the distribution of any materials aimed at convincing undecideds of the case for independence. While Sturgeonites are gleeful that Alba has not yet secured an electoral breakthrough, I would posit that the formation of Alba, the subsequent breakaway and the continued existence of the party, has nonetheless influenced the SNP's recent actions on independence. In any case, Alba will keep plugging away.
