  1. Are you and the Virgin from Greenock part of the problem? If not what solutions would you two experts on the subject offer?
  2. Like you I’ve been priced out of away games. I can watch away games on my TV. Ideally we should have a “Twenty’s plenty” campaign by Supporters Direct Scotland for away Diddy fans in all leagues.
  3. Are we not deviating slightly from the topic at hand? It would be great to debate how our society reduces the death rate rather than focus on areas of poverty. We all know areas where we live and work where there are such issues. A lot of deaths must be related to people who have unfortunately succumbed to homelessness. Ideally an independent Scotland moving forward could look to provide better employment opportunities and tackle the food bank crisis. We need ways to get people out of work back into engaging in society rather than being socially isolated.
  4. I’ll give most things a try. I’ll see if I can get some to try before I buy. Maybe just take a knife into my local tescos.
  5. Do you agree that saying “not one of them really understands the basics of anything” is a blatant lie?
  6. We should welcome the free speech we have in this country. What I despise is the paid politicians that have got us into this mess. My point is that although you may class all the users on this forum as idiots, at least they are not responsible for the fcuking state our country is in. I’d hazard a guess that some of these so called idiots could have done a far better job than many paid employees in Westminster, Holyrood or local council offices up and down the country.
  7. I detest peanut butter. I just can’t stomach it. But then I’ve always hated peanuts from an early age. I did try peanut butter again a year or so back but it just gave me the boak. Any decent healthy alternatives?
  8. Report from record drug deaths in Wales. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-62393799
  9. But you said “not one of them really understands the basics of anything.” That is blatantly a lie. I get that you don’t agree with everyone’s views or ideas but I’d argue there are some on that board whose views and arguments are far better than a vast number of over paid MPs, MSPs and councillors. I won’t try and prove you wrong. Just let them debate.
  10. We really need to get a £20s plenty campaign for away fans in Scotland. It’s beyond a joke now. Surely clubs can’t sustain a model that sees away attendances dropping season upon season?
  11. Ronan great player at our level, but I just don’t see him cutting it in the EPL with Wolves. Hope I’m proved wrong though. I never thought Kenny McLean would play in the EPL.
  12. Agreed. As I say I’m only basing it on my personal experience. I lost one of my closet cousins to heroin and alcohol addiction in the 80s. She died so young leaving behind two kids. She was in an abusive marriage. Let’s not forget the part that drug gangs play in getting youngsters hooked by giving them free drugs and money to do drop offs. I made a lot of bad choices growing up. Without a doubt who you associate with plays a large part. I’ve been honest with my kids about my past. I believe in sharing my experiences to them in the hope that they don’t go down a similar path. I believe the availability of drugs are greater now than they have ever been. You can get access to drugs as easily as ordering a takeaway.
  13. There are a multitude of reasons for why people start down the road of taking drugs. Like a lot of people on here I have my own personal experience over the last few decades. In the majority of cases people will try drugs for the first time when under the influence of alcohol and seeing their friends do drugs and want to be part of the group. Most youths who start out drinking try weed for the first time. Once they start going to clubs some will use ecstasy, speed and coke. Youngsters despite all the drug education available now in schools will take drugs. They see others doing it. Whether that is older friends, older siblings and their own pals and want to be part of the gang. Peer pressure in many ways. When I was growing up coke was very much seen as a rich man’s drug. It is now more easily accessible and lower cost. It’s used a lot at football grounds now in Scotland by youngsters. You would never have seen that in Scotland in the 70/80s on the terraces. Regarding poverty. When you have have been unemployed for a long time and are experiencing depression and isolation and you can’t afford to drink to block it out, then you can easily get street Valium for 50p. The highs and lows that you can get from drug use are highly addictive. When mixed with alcohol and other drugs these can be deadly. Unfortunately many of the side effects of these drugs leads to further depression and paranoia which leads to increased drug use to block out the effects. Vicious cycle. It’s not just poverty. I’ve had friends with high flying careers with a lot of money to burn turn to drugs to deal with the stress of the job/marriage/family/mid life crisis. One of my closet friends in his 50s who was very successful in his career became addicted to alcohol and coke. He lost his job, his house and now he can’t even recognise his own wife and family as his brain is fcuked. He is now in a care home. So sad. Is that classed as early onset dementia? How much of that was down to his addictions? I would like to see Scotland introduce new measures to tackle this problem along the lines of this. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-glasgow-west-48921696
  14. Wrong. In the second act of the musical, Nettie Fowler, the cousin of the protagonist Julie Jordan, sings "You'll Never Walk Alone" to comfort and encourage Julie when her husband, Billy Bigelow, the male lead, stabs himself with a knife whilst trying to run away after attempting a robbery with his mate Jigger and dies in her arms. So typically Scousers and Celtic fans latch on to this.
  15. But Billy stabbed himself after a failed attempt at a robbery! Darwin Award!
  16. We can’t afford the petrol for the Molotov’s!
  17. That’s quite the sweeping statement. Even by your standards!
  18. To reach 32 pages on first league game of the season is great work fellas. This @Pat Boon character is unhinged.
  19. Do you have something in place if you die? Is there any 2FA in place when you are trading crypto? My concern would be someone managing to exploit a way to sniff out my passphrase. I have never dabbled in crypto currency so I don’t know how secure it is.
  20. Yes I agree. But you can see why he is trying. I guess it must feel the same as a mega lottery winner who lost his ticket.
  21. I see our Welsh IT Computer expert is launching another “bin dipping” expedition. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/uk-wales-62378542 Imagine a computer expert chucking out a PC hard drive without erasing all the data first? Why did he not keep his Bitcoin passphrase separate as a backup? Why did he not keep a backup of the hard drive? What backup plans do you have in place @Satoshi ? Will we start to hear phrases like “looking for a pen drive in a tip” instead of “looking for a needle in a haystack”? Instead of robots I don’t know why he doesn’t pay for some Morten fans to help find this drive. Far cheaper and more likely to be more successful!
  22. Yeah. Agreed it all started out well, but has taken a sinister route with violent demonstrations against their own club when they don’t win! Is there not also a splinter group who broke away from the Green Brigade because they were not mental enough?
  23. Really? Adult versions? You might be able to, but I’ve never seen an adult Celtic fan wearing a modern day replica top without the main sponsor on it. Sure the clubs charge extra for SPFL logos and the like. I appreciate that kids tops don’t have betting or alcohol sponsors but that only covers a small age group. Most teenagers probably have to buy the adult sizes. I would imagine that this sponsorship would not be something that Brother Wilfrid would approve of.
