  1. If you went for a FOI to all part time teams including the Lowland league you may be surprised at how many are getting paid a damn good wage might not be quite the £500 I see quoted on here all the time but a hellavae lot are not far off. Plus a lot of part time teams can offer other employment to make up the balance and probably more than what a full time player at L1 level makes. These part time teams who also give part time work also allows players to train and use fitness coaches as well as attend games. That is why they appear as fit as full timers plus teams are not weakened as much during midweek games. You also have a huge amount who are fitness instructors and the ones who own their own business. Gone are the days of "The Part-time Team" very few about now. There are teams in the Highland/Lowland leagues who offer stupid money for signing on and a weekly wage which is absurd, not fully sure where these teams get there money but they do.
  2. Hi sorry champions ...... actually didn't mean to look like I was gloating I certainly wasn't, we have nothing to gloat about, have now read back a few pages and understand how much people are hurting , anyway all the best for the rest of your season and honestly I mean it when I say I hope you get things sorted out down there in the coming months as I truly believe Falkirk Fc are a bigger and better club than what they are showing at the moment.
  3. Hi all ...... not on here to gloat or knock you or your team as I think today said it all for you. We needed a big result today to keep us away from the playoff place and a big result we got. I read with interest some of your comments about the boy Wilson can I just say he may not be the best player in the world but he had more commitment and desire to chase and close down in his 25 minutes or so than a lot of your team has had in the last 4/5 games. Yes he was fired up with a desire to please today and maybe got too carried away and got himself two bookings and sent off but maybe if a few more of your players played with the same commitment and desire mixed with the skill of a few you wouldn't be in the position your team is in at the moment. Maybe it is because I am a Peterhead supporter and that's what makes us tick along with some skill we see something different in these types of players than you do.
  4. Agree with you fully that midfield is our strongest area but the defence are strong when balls are pumped up the park and the ball dropping in front of them they will mop these up all day. We tend to dominate possession in most games but cannot score we lack the firepower up front. Where we lose games is when teams go back to front over the top and start turning our defence, milk has turned quicker think tonight will be an interesting game and a game we cannot afford to lose, we may end up going 4-5-1 or 5-4-1 with the view to not losing the game and hope we can hit you on the break. Unfortunately I cannot make the game tonight due to work commitments so here's to a good game and will watch the highlights with eager anticipation
  5. He played at RWB for Dumbarton v Aberdeen last season and was arguably Dumbartons best player on the day, he also played there in the last CDG against Livingston and apparently had a really good game, I can only assume he is starting the game against St Johnstone in the same position of RWB.
  6. Think you misread what I said, I agreed Sheerin had you playing well don't think teams worked it out think it was a case of pressure to bring certain players in especially the loan ones and none of them improved your team in fact it has made your team worse. No fight and no heart but the ones who were criticised at the start of the season would have burst a gut for your team and would certainly not rolled over like some of these premadonnas who you now have. The teams you mentioned played football but also knew how to stick the boot in when they had to so it's not just football that will get you out this league.
  7. I was very surprised Sheerin was your new manager, I would hate to lose him but I think someone like our manager Jim McInally would have been ideal for a job like that, he has the knowledge and understanding of the lower leagues and what it takes to stay in them and with the right budget I think he would have turned Falkirk in to a force to be reckoned with. He has been our manager for 10yrs now and is the longest serving manager in Scotland. You have to understand the position your in and I am not sure your BoD quite understand that.
  8. Okay I take back about the budget if you are telling me it's the biggest in the league, okay and what have you got for that big budget...... oh yes a second rate team. If I were you I would put the Euro millions on as I think that is the only way you will get rid of the Bod by buying them out. On a more serious not the thing that Falkirk FC have not accepted is you are in the 1st Division and need a team to get you out of there. You won't get out by playing pretty football like you did today and against other teams. If you look at what you had at the start of the season you had a system, with tactics, with grafters who Sheerin had working well together and were hard to beat yes I agree you needed an out and out goal scorer but that is where you should have burst the bank for a striker with that ability. You do not win the 1st division playing football you win it by scrapping and fighting for every point. Look at us today we took a point by fighting our way to it and yes an inspired goalkeeper but hey did we come away with something. If your team could have done that against Alloa, Airdrie etc then they may be in a healthier position than they are. We will always scrap and fight to stay in this league but you know what we know and accept what we have to do.
  9. Yes .... I think Mr Brocklebank may have bought it Ps We are quite good at Fishing
  10. Shadwell Dog ..... the difference is we know that and unlike yourselves we accept it, unless we get a massive cash injection and the chance to go full-time like a Queens Park we will remain where we are. Look at yourselves what do you have, yes a lovely stadium, yes a nice view of the Kelpies and yes a half descent support (the genuine ones) what you don't have is what should worry you, a BoD who are only interested in what they can get for themselves, a guy GH who nobody really knows what he is supposed to be doing especially for 50k a year, owners who don't want to spend money, a team who is going backwards quicker than a Ferrari in reverse, no money to buy your way out of trouble, I could go on and on but i won't all I will say is get used to it cause you will be in the 1st division for a long time to come
  11. Having only read the Falkirk thread since the start of the season can I just say I have read things that make me think you and your team get what they deserve, I have read players being called C***S, Dug Shite plus the way some of you talk about other teams well get used to it cause Falkirk are just one of they teams. You are now a First Division team and at best a lower half of the Championship team, we know where our team are and acept we will never be a premier league team but get used to it neither will Falkirk. Look at your team at the start of the season with all the so called "Jobbers" in it they had a better work ethic and better results playing Sheerins tactics than all the dross that has been brought in under supporter pressure. All I can say is C'mon the Blue Toon
