Chasing VAR out of Scotland
Eatmygoal replied to HibsFan's topic in Scottish Premiership General Chatter
Exactly. Whether he was offside or not is academic. Essentially they have tossed a coin and overruled the on field decision and then appear to have attempted to cover it up. -
Chasing VAR out of Scotland
Eatmygoal replied to HibsFan's topic in Scottish Premiership General Chatter
Or for other clubs who weren't directly involved to support the original statements. -
If I'm honest i was grouping peds and cyclists together in my head. I took his post to be that because in his mind women don't feel comfortable using it late at night it's fair game to get rid of it. Despite the many (men and women) who cycle, walk, run, push the pram or walk the dog along it every day.

That's such a wild take. This man is in charge of transport policy in the capital city of Scotland!?
-
I know you're taking the piss, but I don't think it's unreasonable to suggest all dogs should be kept on short leads when in public. I lost count of the number of times a dog has bounded up to my 3 year old. Some owners are very apologetic, but most seem to think the sun shines out of their dogs arse.

The Famous Aberdeen - Season 2022/23
Eatmygoal replied to a topic in Scottish Premiership General Chatter
I'm exactly the same. Given the figures of 2.5 - 3 million I'd edge towards keeping him. He is such a unique and exciting player and when on form I can't remember anyone like him in recent times. If Miovski goes this window we absolutely have to keep him at least until summer. -
Infuriating Things Your Partner Does
Eatmygoal replied to Dee Man's topic in The General Nonsense Forum
We have a 3 year old and a 1 year old. Almost everyday I take the 1 year old when he wakes up at 6 and entertain him whilst my wife gets a bit more sleep for an hour or two. Last night I had a very rare trip to the pub, the first in months. I've facilitated a few nights out for her recently to have a break, so naively I thought she might take him this morning as I do when she's been out. Well she did for all of 5 mins, before he was clambering all over me on the bed, resulting in me getting grief for having the nerve to be slightly grumpy about it. -
I am well aware we are reasonably well off in the scheme of things, but I'm hardly living the life of luxury. I wasn't trying to be argumentative, just stating how I felt and asking a geunine question about Norway! Just out of interest, before I stop engaging with your trolling, what do you feel taxes should be subsidising? Essentially that is the purpose of taxation.
-
1) My wife has a relatively low income not me! 2) I own my car, its not fancy or new. I have a very modest mortgage. I don't expect the state to subsidise my lifestyle as you put it. Your tax base will soon be eroded if we all stop having kids!
-
Are salaries generally higher in Norway and are things for example childcare relatively less expensive? I wouldn't mind paying more tax if I had loads of disposable income at the end of the day, but as someone with two young kids and a wife with a relatively low income we are already feeling the pinch.

The Storms & Severe Weather Thread

Their first reaction to seeing a tree(s) being lifted into the air by the wind was to walk up and film it! -
Okay I agree with that take that the cyclist should have used a bit more common sense and not have put them self in harms way. However it is definitely up to the driver to make sure they are safe to reverse in any situation. The driver clearly knows there is a cyclist nearby too. You don't just slam your car/van/lorry into reverse gear and hit the accelerator. You've got to make sure it's safe before moving.
-
I'm not on twitter so no idea about vine personally. This looks like a cyclist braking to avoid a van turning across him, then starting off presuming the van will be going forward and not reversing! I have no idea how this is the cyclists fault and it's concerning that it could be interpreted as such.
-
I think most of the new cycle lanes you see around are a legacy from COVID funding. Whilst some are a welcome addition, a significant minority if not a majority make cycling worse than it was before. I suspect the people involved have never used a bike, gone for low hanging fruit with very mixed results. I honestly think that properly designed and funded cycling infrastructure would not only massively benefit 'cyclists', get people out of cars and also improve life for 'drivers'. Instead the poorly funded, badly designed infrastructure makes the general public question any further funding.

The El Sackio Derby - Part Deux
Eatmygoal replied to Lyle Lanley's topic in Scottish Premiership General Chatter
If they manage to somehow put a few results together perhaps. -
Will be interesting to see which presenter and pundits decide to appear now. It would be great if they all followed Ian Wright's lead. He can wind me up at times over football, but I'm fully behind him here.
-
Why would it even cross your mind! Can understand an apple core etc. But just drive home and put your rubbish in the bin. This country despite liking to portray itself as being pro community, anti Tory etc etc is full of selfish self centred arseholes.
-
Judging by the amount of litter at the roadside the number of people who do this in Scotland must be considerable. Must be some on here give how common it seems. Total c**t behaviour though.
-
Ah yes, saw someone do it this morning joining the Edinburgh bypass. Clearly couldn't be bothered queuing on the slip so jumped into the hard shoulder and sped along past 15 or so cars to join further along.
-
Why do so many drivers constantly creep over stop lines, through the bike box and beyond the second stop line.. you aren't going to get anywhere an quicker. Especially in rush hour traffic. Shame red light cameras aren't really a thing here.
-
Aye, but that's some wee ned near a football ground. Not a 5 year old in a booster seat in the back of a 70k Volvo.
-
Just went on a short walk through town, during which I've seen two cars parked at the side of the road engines running with the driver nowhere to be seen. I assume in the shop they were parked next to. I'm not that familiar with stealing a car, but do surely all I'd have needed to do was jump in and drive off? What makes it worse is both had kids in the back, probably around 5-7 years old. Is this normal behaviour?

Shout out to the VW Passat driver who ploughed on through the red light at the pedestrian crossing on the Meadows in Edinburgh. They overtook a row of cars stopped and stacked back to the junction ahead, as the were turning right and I presume he didn't fancy queuing. Not sure the road had even split at that point so may also have been on the wrong side of the road.* Lucky I just had the feeling he wasn't stopping and said so to my Mrs who was understandably not paying attention to him. We were crossing with my partner, 2 year old and 6 week old baby. *Just checked and the road had split, so just the steaming through a red light.
