I can mind Brockville being heavily sanded to get a game on, v Hibs, in the 80’s & it fcukd the park for years.

I've got no qualms with the pitch yesterday to be honest.

At Brockville we'd use that to our advantage back in the day. What irks me about yesterday was that Bonnyrigg didn't really master it either.

The difference in the end was the "quality" from set-pieces which we didn't manage to get Lang, Hendo, MacIver or Donaldson onto at all. They were over-hit or under cooked.

Chuck in Longs performance and without that in previous cup games it's a replay when they happened.

Having watched the highlights back and my thoughts from the time, is there no hint of offside on their second goal? I mean the guy is literally on the line and hasn’t moved. Suppose there was no real complaints from players or management.

Long ran to the linesman but everyone looked pretty resigned to the outcome at that stage.

I don’t however think chopping and changing them all the time does any good for confidence.

I agree - We had a settled defence and continuity breeds confidence. McGlynn undoing that on a whim seems like an unnecessary mistake and it's cost us the last two games.

Hogarth although prone to the odd lapse has conceded a maximum of one goal in the matches he's played since taking over in November. Long on the other hand with the exception of Cove has conceded six in fewer games.

His return is beginning to look like the Kinnear situation all over again where the worse he played the longer he was picked.

  4. Having watched the highlights this morning I am still convinced this should be the beginning of the Long goodbye.

The 2nd goal is particularly embarrassing when you see the distance it travels and the fact his positioning is spot on, only for him to let it sail through his gloves 😳

  5. Never got grips with the surface today and didn't create too many opportunities as a result.

Have seen some Bonnyrigg fans comment that it was sweeter as they were playing 12 men!

Not sure how that conclusion was reached when you factor in the late challenges which went unpunished; Miller being dragged out the pitch and the linesman awarding a throw-in and the corner they scored the winner from not being a corner! 🤷‍♂️

It's a disappointing result and shows how quickly football can turn. Only a month ago we looked unstoppable and now we're decidedly shaky. Any coincidence it's coincided with Longs return?

With all due respect to those suggesting it won't be on - your grass isn't prepared weekly by groundsmen, protected as best it can be to the elements and probably contains a shed load bricks and debris just below the soil from when your house was built!

Bonnyriggs isn't a carpet by any means but it's ongoing maintenance and preparation gives it a chance, even in the conditions we've experienced the last few days.

    ...

Not long until I'm proved correct 😆

They are playing Welsh Cup Final tomorrow evening kick off 5 30pm v Swansea City under 21s & its live on S4C (sky channel 135) if anyone interested in seeing what level they are at.

What has gone under the radar , I feel, is that Declan McManus returns to TFS with them.

... Would be madness to let Agyeman go in this window, especially to someone else in this division.

I've not been impressed recently but would agree I wouldn't be shipping him out.
Would prefer to see him played centrally as a replacement for MacIver in games but Allan and now Shanley seem to be favoured instead.

We've seen Ola used wide and use him off the bench there, so that would be the tweaks I'd make.

Would be much more satisfied with contract extensions being announced this window than new signings in all honesty.

... although I expect at least one outgoing before the deadline.

Can't see any movement before the SC 4th round ties are played.

Ahh that area. Ventured in there for a nosey last year and it is amazing how big that area is. Could easily host large wedding receptions. Just a pity it’s not ours to benefit from.

Remember the top floor being used for a Xmas event and Gin/Whisky festival* in the past and mind it being cavernous due to the lack of partitioning unlike the floors below.

Ideal for a "fanzone" and more relaxed setup if at all possible.

    * My memory of that may be impaired 😵‍💫

Is the fact that season ticket holders not turning up thus leaving empty seats got something to do with kids season tickets being free, people getting season tickets for their kids coz it costs nothing even though they might only go to a handful of games at best a season ...

    That's valid.

I suppose whilst there is availability in the main stand it's not an issue.

Curiously, does anyone know if the fans survey will happen again this year?

That said, I can't help but feel somewhat skeptical over the official attendance figures these last few games at TFS. The KM7 has been *packed* and it would not shock me in the slightest if the figures are higher than we're led to believe.

Sorry, I'm confused as to whether you think there are less or more fans in the KM than declared?

KM was "sold out" against Cove but there were definitely empty seats. Obviously the seats available Vs. utilisation at play there but isn't the attendance taken from validated tickets so unused won't be counted.

KM definitely the preferred area in my opinion and would be interested to see if the club would entertain a "seat swap" facility to increase utilisation I mentioned earlier.

The real question is whether Morrison can remain focused and invested for what time he has left here. It's hard to not question the fact that when the chips were down on Saturday, McGlynn didn't turn to Callumn, despite the fact he'd just scored twice against Cove. Hopefully I'm speculating over nothing and he wasn't fully fit or carrying a knock, but why have him on the bench in that case?

I'd suggest it was purely because he had 5 subs and Ethan Ross was the only irregular starter who didn't have a stinker from the 6 changes who wouldn't be ineffectual switching to the right hand side.

Everyone else brought on didn't require a positional change from where they'd normally play.

    Where did you hear that??

It's portrayed as a "courtesy" between managers but interpretation is to sow doubt that the player is as committed as he was before. The approach coming from your "rivals" is designed to increase that doubt ahead of future head-to-heads.

When you add everything together that Accies have done - attempting to minimise the away support, over-age ball boys and now this - they are trying every trick in the book to disrupt us.

Our focus should purely be on ourselves and let Accies worry about us as they clearly are.

... Conversely, looking at it another way it is him letting other clubs know that the three players in question may be out of contract at the end of the season and this is a ruse to get bids for them.

I'd hope Accies could try and act like a football club instead of agents. I know that might be difficult based on recent experience!

Since Falkirk can't stop Cal from discussions with Hamilton I hope he politely tells them where to go and that he has management to handle his business and doesn't need them to act on his behalf.

    What a shower 😒

... If it was me running it I would wait and get highlights out much later and rely on the full match replay at midnight ...

Recently we've seen from other clubs just the goals from their match and then the match highlights later.

Either way it's resources and time.
