  1. Realistically we've seen that is unlikely to happen. The longer we've been in L1 the closer the games have become even against some of the "lesser" sides. Titles are built on strong defences - being prolific to boot just helps all the more but grinding out games by the odd goal is what will get us promoted.
  2. This. There are many reasons the non-football related topics discussed here appear. For me, it's to gauge what other seemingly like-minded fans think about a subject or to highlight to a wider audience an issue that affects a smaller group but could be detrimental (or beneficial) overall, as this seemed to be. FSS members will be able to debate this at the upcoming meeting but where else would the wider fan base access this info currently? I've also emailed the club directly in the past but only once I'd aired my issue here and saw that others had similar views that I thought should be addressed - I probably wouldn't have done if I thought it was just me. This is just one channel available to posters and it is very much read by people within the club. I doubt it influences them substantially but at least the issue is visible.
  3. @CoveRangers1922 makes a very valid point. They've signed relative unknowns (I've seen that somewhere before) and have to integrate them whereas the advantage we *should* have is our squad is evolution over revolution and it's guys who know this league and above in the case of Lang, Spencer and Miller. Agree we shouldn't expect to win every game but currently feels like we intend to make heavy weather of it. I personally don't want to spend the season chasing a rival and relying on the play-offs as our insurance policy.
  4. @MulsonFFC it's a good spot by the ref and on balance of probabilities that's what he's awarded it for. What I and others are peeved about is that we know similar incidents won't be given for us if the shoe was on the other foot.
  5. I disagree that the ref's angle is obscured by Ageyman. I'd suggest Yeats knew very little about the contact as the size difference has left his arm in the flight of the ball once the Cove player ducks.
  6. Oooft but would agree Best of it is, Yeats arms end up in that position - above the Cove player - as the Cove player is ducking Burrell's high boot! Soft award of many over the weekend, which is galling as you won't ever see us get the same in our favour.
  7. Having viewed it far too many times I can't be sure it was awarded for handball but could concede that it's been awarded for Yeats holding or jumping over the Cove player at the near post to win the header which then cannons off Burrell's hand. However, I look forward to a penalty per game being awarded if that's the standard for such things
  8. Like them both but they've got to translate that into goals. MacIver has had the knack recently and Ageyman has shown glimpses but saying "too much to handle" is a reach whilst there's no consistent, end product.
  9. Novel approach but scoring to lead and avoiding gifting goals when you're on top might help! Not sure it'll catch on though
  10. Mostly agree that it's not as clear cut as is being made out. Camera distance and angle on the highlights doesn't rule out that it didn't pass Burrell and hit Hendo then redirect to Burrells hand. Amazing spot by the ref if correct but look forward to him and his fellow whistlers missing much more obvious awards in our favour
  11. I'll admit I'm not convinced either way what happened yesterday as I've only the highlights to go on but if the ref can make a mistake like that then ones like Morrisons last week you'd think might get given.
  12. What annoys me is we don't even get ones which aren't! Refs are so bad and we can't even con one over 30+ games
  13. "... Robust tender process ..." We seem to do this with every platform the club use and yet improvements benefit whom. Premium prices for best efforts services.
  14. Concerning that for all the good play we've had,.conceded two and needed an OG. Where have we seen this before...
  15. Said last week that Alloa would be the game to judge our progress and looks like that was prescient. Hamilton winning and setting the pace - as I hoped we would - but looks like it's gonna be the slow-and-steady approach ultimately
  16. Other posters spelling weighs quite heavily on some ...
  17. Paul Dixon Unpopular opinion but personally, I think he fooled many and whereas others got found out much quicker and emptied, he hung about far too long. Spoke volumes for me that when relegated he praised the running of the club and then in his last - and our worst - season with us, bemoaned players "downing tools". Reaped what he sowed.
  18. You're as bad as the Falkirk admin last week!
  19. Davie Sinclair No idea why but always liked him even though he played quite infrequently. I was probably sh*t scared not to like him!
  20. That involves growing the FSS four-fold or something like that as the money you mention is going towards filling the £400K deficit before you even start funding the academy further.
  21. That's where the agreement has potentially left the FSS on a sticky wicket.
