  1. You'll get updates (team news, goals) on twitter. It's usually pretty quick. And of course you'll generally get a highlights video on here/YouTube/Twitter a few hours after the game.
  2. Sadly no, Lorne is on holiday
  3. Very unfortunate to come away with nothing tonight, disappointing to see Alison back out injured too. Feels like we'll not see a settled back four all season. On the plus side, Cammy Thomson was immense, great to see him back. Thought Callum Rae did well too.
  4. Outstanding shift put in by every Rose player tonight, they worked hard and were well worth a point. Webby was really unfortunate with EK's 2nd goal, apart from that he never put a foot wrong. We were denied a stonewall pen in the 1st half, albeit they hit the bar in the 2nd, on another day we might have won. EK are probably the best side we'll play this season, outside of a good run in the Scottish Cup.
  5. 1. Direct free kick A direct free kick is awarded if a player commits any of the following offences against an opponent in a manner considered by the referee to be careless, reckless or using excessive force: • charges • jumps at • kicks or attempts to kick • pushes • strikes or attempts to strike (including head-butt) • tackles or challenges • trips or attempts to trip If an offence involves contact, it is penalised by a direct free kick. There's your laws of the game, tell me which of these things Jamie Allan did to commit a foul? There's a handy gif I made just for you so you can see it for yourself, you don't have to thank me, the knowledge that I'm helping the less fortunate is all the thanks I need.
  6. Allan has his arms out and his feet planted on the ground when the striker inexplicably jumps into him and falls over. He's not even goal side of the striker. That happens anywhere else on the pitch and the play continues. It's not a foul and he doesn't impede the opponent with contact because the contact comes from the Colts player, his feet are off the ground because he jumps into Jamie Allan.
  7. Nonsense, what does Jamie Allan do to commit a foul? Skinner's red comes down to whether the ref considers it a goal scoring opportunity, fair enough, it's his call, but Allan has to commit a foul and he doesn't, he does nothing. The Colts player jumps into him and falls over. So you tell me, what does Allan do that's a foul?
  8. There was, both Webby and Gillespie were right there, and 5 yards outside the box, it's not an obvious goal scoring opportunity. In Jamie Allan's case the striker just barges into him and falls down, I don't see how that's a foul either, there's no trip, no push, no kick from Allan. Game ruined by poor refereeing.
  9. He's already knocked in a hat trick preseason and almost did last Saturday. The lad knows where the goals are
  10. I thought it was a fantastic performance, unfortunate not to score more. I felt we coped a lot better against a similarly physical side than we did against Broomhill. Jack Oliver was outstanding, as were Heaver, Patterson and Rae. Massively encouraged by the football we're playing. Great to see Cammy T back. Allison and McKirdy are hoping to be back in contention in the next couple of weeks too.
  11. Taking nothing away from a magnificent attacking performance, a far better attitude than Tuesday night, they were hungrier, more committed, more creative, the weaknesses in the defence are a concern. Albeit an untried pairing in Shyngle and Webb and key players missing. This tactic of passing around the back four, or a ball out to midfield only to come straight back to the centre half or full back is a disaster. It just invites teams forward on top of us, putting us under unnecessary pressure when one small mistake, a short pass or a poor touch then carries a goal threat. We need to be moving the ball out of the back third faster and with more determination, that requires a mobile midfield who can create space if you're not going the route one way. We have to stop inviting teams to put us under pressure. In saying that I loved the match yesterday, it was great to see them scoring freely and it could very easily have been ten or twelve goals!
  12. Too soon to say, need to see how the new boys settle in.
  13. I agree, a more settled 11 would be a huge advantage. I'm not convinced that the way the squad was rotated did work well though. Thinking back to the match against LTHV at Spartans where the entire bench were first picks and we were four nil down before we knew it. I think he brought Stowe and others on and we pulled a couple back but we were well beaten by then. We were subsequently awarded three points because LTHV had fielded an illegible player so we got away with it nevertheless... I could argue the same for the cup final against Gala Fairydean, two nothing up and cruising and mass changes were made for the sake of resting players for the final push for the league and we lost our shape, shipped two late goals and the pens, well that's best forgotten. You could argue that it worked because our main objective was to win the league and gain promotion so the ends justifies the means, but I think that's very different from saying it worked well!
  14. Great performance tonight, sure there were a couple of defensive slip ups we need to work on but there's a lot to feel optomistic about. Jamie Allan was superb even played out of his usual position, or maybe that'll be his position... Callum Rae and Dylan Patterson looked very good and they'll only get better the more the play with the team and Cokesy was different class. Happy days!
