  1. Never really paid much attention to the 'B' teams, but the one benefit that I would have expected is an increase in the crowd counts when they visit. The table doesn't reflect that. I'm also surprised at how low the crowd counts are for their home games. It's as if nobody really cares about watching the emerging talent at Celtic and Hearts
  2. This link will hopefully help: https://rjmsports.com/rjm-club-shops/boness-united-fc/ I see the strip size starts at 5-6 year old

  4. It would be interesting to see the report the supervisor created. Perhaps we'd see the ref in a different light? Half the problem is we want the game ref'd with common sense, the ref's meanwhile have to stick to the rules. I think the bigger problem with refereeing the game nowadays is the rules. If the ref wants to progress up, he must apply the rules. This common sense stuff just doesn't wash with the those who control the game sadly.
  5. Any chance @lokforever could stop polluting the site with his highlight package. Every thread you open has them! If only there was a 'recent match videos thread'........
  6. I hear the Facebook page kicked off with a fan blasting a previous manager for the mess the club's in. Then the said manager hit back with a list of reasons explaining why the demise occurred .- and then the post was locked and the comments 'hid'. It seems freedom of speech isn't a thing at Penicuik.
  7. You guys sound like utter cretins. What did you do at the weekend? Went down to Gretna and hurled abuse at their keeper for 90 minutes. Oh, did you win? Don't know, we just go to the football so we can shout obscenities' at people for 90 minutes. Oh dear.......
  8. Ah, the fickle football fan and their opinions.....
  9. I see they lost 10-0 to Preston Athletic the other night.......
  10. What a shambles Vale are these days. Where did it all go wrong.......?
  11. From the article: “The SPFL had the Deloitte review which was commissioned by Aberdeen, Hearts, Hibs, Dundee and Dundee United. B teams and player development was a key strategic priority within that. “There’s been a lot of engagement. We did that through the pyramid working group. We thought the resolution was the right thing to take forward. “The feedback we got was that wasn’t the case. Rather than go for a vote that could have been divisive and lead to further problems, the board took the view that the most appropriate thing at this point was to take it off the table. “But we will go back and engage again with clubs and stakeholders and see what that player development pathway looks like going forward.” Player Development also involves coaching, and having capable coaches on board. That to me is the problem. It's not simply about the league structure, it's more to do with the standard of coaches we have in our game.
  12. Elliot's name must be in the bag - he's bound to be getting itchy feet after being in charge at Cowdenbeath for so long.....
  13. Why bother with a trial, both are guilty according to a select few on P&B.....
  14. Get some of the derbies down for Friday night football and the ref situation should be sorted. And a wee mention to Dunbar. Another team who didn't panic when things got tough last season. Stuck with the manager, and now they get the reward their loyalty deserves.
  15. How's this for a different perspective on Little: Has experienced being the manager on a number of occasions and hasn't felt comfortable with it. Likes coaching rather than dealing with all the baggage that comes with being a manager. Through loyalty to Bo'ness stayed after Max left and steadied the ship. Now wants to go back to coaching and was delighted when Max got in touch.
  16. Great stuff Spartans. Delighted for Dougie and his coaching staff...and medic man Craig. A lesson for so many other teams. Things didn't seem to be progressing as they'd like with no promotion over the years....but perseverance, trust and loyalty has seen the job done. I can't think of any team in any of the leagues that would have given Dougie the time he has been given, to get this right. All the others would have had him relieved of his position years ago. Well done Spartans.
  17. With respect, it's not the Colt sides that have made the mess of the Lowland League....it's the Lowland League who have made the mess of the Lowland League.
  18. Considering the carbon footprint this final is creating....I expect a pitch invasion from the Extinction Rebellion folks.
  19. By way of explanation....when I played amateur football I always looked up at the Junior and East of Scotland teams. They were, in my opinion - and many others; a step up in quality. Whenever we played against teams at this level, we tried all the harder to get 'one-over' them. We rarely succeeded. Later I made the step up and played both Junior and East of Scotland. We played friendlies against amateur teams and they always hard fought - to the point it was almost dangerous playing against them. If you weren't sharp you could end up injured. That told me the desire to get one over the 'big boys' was still there. By letting in a team who finished fourth bottom, of the bottom league in season 2021/22.....a team who are currently sitting third bottom in the third division of the amateur league will, IN MY OPIONION, drop the standard of the league. Linton Hotspur may have a nice ground, but will they be competitive? They might have reached the final of the South Cup last season - but they have shown nothing that would convince me that they'll enhance the standard of football in the East of Scotland league. The step up is there. Try telling Harthill Royal or Fauldhouse that they are an amateur side - I'm sure they'd be furious. Both teams take pride in playing in the EoS league, and at the higher than amateur level. It seems there's an air of 'If you build it, they will come' in all of this. The EoS league should be looking to keep the standard high. The league should always be a step up for an amateur player. Allowing teams in on the basis they have a nice pitch and facilities is stupid. If, and when Linton Hotspurs join the league and lose heavily week in, week out - they'll fold or head back to the amateurs. And the league will be left looking stupid. As I say, MY OPINION - so don't bother coming back with the character assassination comments if it differs from yours.
  20. So a team who aren't even one of the strongest teams in their current league - 3rd division...and near the bottom of that league; are joining the EoS league! And we slag off the Lowland League!
  21. Led by Rangers and Celtic apparently. Yet we're also told it's an SFA idea. Perhaps Rangers and Celtic lead the SFA? Constantly picking on the Old Firm teams whilst ignoring Hearts and (possibly) Aberdeen isn't doing the cause any good. Whilst Rangers and Celtic might want this to happen, it can only happen if the SFA approve it. They are the main culprits in this situation. They could have stopped it immediately IF THEY WANTED TO. This is their feck up - not Rangers and Celtic.
  22. I see they played last night. I'm sure @Blue White Dynamite will provide an update on the 20's situation when he posts the highlights
  23. 'Two clubs', 'Bigot Brothers', 'Old Firm'....so much hate for Rangers and Celtic. It's as if Heart aren't in the equation...and the unnamed fourth team doesn't exist. This isn't being done to accommodate what Celtic and Rangers want, this is being done because Maxwell is under pressure to make the pyramid work. Sadly, the man is so pathetically incompetent and out of touch with the lower echelons of Scottish Football - that he thinks this is an acceptable solution. It's alright a handful of 'fans' kicking off on an online forum, but their voice isn't being heard - nor does it mean anything, to those at the SFA. What is really needed is a joined up protest involving all the clubs in the HL, LL and the various leagues below. But that won't happen because the teams involved don't have the will, knowledge or even appreciation to what the people want. Most clubs have an aging committee who doddle along ensuring the club runs. There's no passion for the future of Scottish football. Can you imagine asking the folks running your club if they're happy with this option? And, if they're not, asking that they then present their objection to the SFA? They wouldn't know where to start.
