  1. Then may i suggest becoming Leader of the Scottish Tories, no effort needed.
  2. Tory prices.. sorry, process is a 1 or 2 million donation; plus a stint of 1 year as Tory treasurer then; your in. Labour basically same; but cheaper. They are thirsty for donors and power. 100k might be enough to get the ermine. Or you could attempt to get one on the strength of all your good deeds. You're just a bit too late to suck of BJ, for the lifetime peerage award. Must 've been a good one though. Top prize! It's often touted as some 2nd house of legislative scrutiny, and whilst there might be some examples of that happening, it actually functions more as a private members club where they get to wine & dine at their leisure. All subsidised by the public purse, of course. There is little oversight of their activities. It's openly stuffed with dubious characters. A rank system of privilege. The Labour Party's failure to reform Westminster is a massive red flag. The unwillingness to implement a PR system, when PR has been present in the UK for decades, just doesn't speak of a party that cares about fixing systemic problems. It's also weirdly backward. We know better ways to run a state than this. More functional, more deliberate and democratic. In that respect ScotGov outshines UKGov.
  3. Who is at all surprised? Sir Kier as advised by Lord Mandelson. Why not cut the numbers instead? It would have the same effect.
  4. A drop in polls is not unexpected, where it becomes farcical is that a party polling around the same as the SNP in England & Wales would be described as popular, a government in waiting no less. Even this poll only gives Labour a narrow win over the SNP and given we're some way away from a General Election being announced. It does not mean all that much.
  5. I was talking about the leader of the Labour party. He was up here yesterday saying something. Sarwar was also there. Which is about as much as can be said for Sarwar. Merely there.
  6. Seems unlikely. Starmermania is not a thing.
  7. I'd favour getting rid of the monarchy altogether. I can see the case for a ceremonial head of state with perhaps a long term appointment. Gets the seal of Scotland and acts as official signatory and whatnot. The coronation and the absurdity surrounding only cemented my republican leanings. Having read Paine has also helped, he loathed the monarchy. It's just so ridiculous and unnecessary. Unhealthy even. Charles is a twit. All the finery in the world doesn't lessen that. He just becomes a twinkly twit.
  8. Rumour has it that there are some 200 plus screenshots of the events. They were going to the press. Nothing on Reuters yet.
  9. Humza launches part 4 of the Building Scotland series of papers Building a new Scotland - gov.scot (www.gov.scot) Building a New Scotland: Creating a modern constitution for an independent Scotland - Summary - gov.scot (www.gov.scot) This one is about the need and process of creating a constitution.
  10. There was no obscene images, unless f a t fingers are objectionable. And i was not posting the same. I merely informed the poster on whose parts were being discussed and like King Charles, i barely touched the sides.
  11. Bad news for Nicola i guess. Fortunate that she's not running for re-election. I see support for independence and the SNP remain steady.
  12. Sources; the arseholes of the editors.
  13. I was thinking to myself "why Elgin?" then i remembered whose twitter feed they are likely to be following.
  14. Please realise that the vision of a post-independent Scotland is one were we effectively cut out the middle man of the UK in that relationship and have input and say in the regulations we implement in co-operation with the EU. The idea that indy should mean some Brexit-style isolationist state is ridiculous. Brexit has shown what a farce that would be.
  15. I recall someone saying it was a "Mickey Mouse" league. They meant a leviathan of a corporate beast that bestrides the world, no doubt.
  16. If Europe is laughing at anything, it would be at Brexit. Deserved. I doubt the 'woke' agendas even elicit a titter.
  17. Another two chances yet. Liz Truss then Rishi Sunak. His pompous arsholery will net him some reward.
  18. Jack's latest complaints are that the SNP are "undermining the UK" by talking about how bad Brexit is and how much better is would be for Scotland to be part of the EU. Good. If the UK can be undermined so easily have at it. Brexit is bad, Scotland would be better in the EU (+1 Independence) Although he has floated the idea of 'sanctions', perhaps inspired by the benefits system, in order to correct the behaviour of our elected representatives. Oblivious to the fact that reserved matters are about the passing of legislation and do not cover political speech. Opposition MPs, MSPs, are not obliged to follow the Tory whip.
  19. 1) That is his claim, i would like see some proof that he has done this. Full tax returns would assist. 2) That not his FULL tax returns. That is 1 year of tax out of the many years he has been in Parliament. But thankyou for demonstrating that he is neither open or honest about his taxes.
