  1. The game's a bogey. I wish we could get rid o' that man in the loaby...
  2. Aye that's probably where they get it - the tories are always on about fairness.
  3. Maybe if they all get together they could sook the ball into the Arbroath net.
  4. I think unless we win at Arbroath he will go. I can't see our board giving him more than a third of the season. Draws won't save us from the black hole. The only thing I think that could stand in the way of the boot is if they haven't yet found someone who they feel confident can do the job and will want to.
  5. I laughed, but I wouldn't say I'm clutching at straws. Crystal ball.
  6. I've just read the board statement. Here's the relevant bit: (Meggle:) 'Peter... understands results have to change and change quickly.' I interpret that as a warning to him, that if results don't change QUICKLY, he'll be sacked. They are willing to give him a little more time, but only a little. That's what it says to me. I guess 4 more games. 'results have to change QUICKLY' That's key.
  7. Or forwards who can get a wee ba' inty a 24ft by 8ft net
  8. Would've thought Mark Connolly would've had a significant effect. (I thought we could beat QOS! What a mug.) Can't see Wilson being a Billy Bremner.
  9. That was when we had reason to believe a change of manager would move us forward. That team didn't shackle us to inevitable doom. Now we've got a team that was lucky they didn't have to get humiliated by playing Elgin and I'm 50-50 as to whether we are already caught in the irresistable downward suction of doing another Falkirk.
  10. To get 36 points from 27 games seems reasonable, for a decent team, but it's not what we are. Currently we've been amassing points at a rate of about 13 from 27 games. A new manager might make us decent, but I still think it's getting to be a hoor o' a big ask, when he (or she!)'s to start wi' the worst Pars team probably since before Jock Stein.
  11. No' really. We might need 40? points (total) to survive. If Grant gets the first 9 games, we may need to get 36 points from the remaining 27 games. That's a big enough ask. If Grant gets 12 games the job of the new manager would be even harder. We might need to win 12 of 24 games. How likely is that? It's a lot o' points we need just to survive. I'm not convinced a new manager will come in and find it at all easy to get them..
  12. Play like we did first half at Starko and we'll make QOS look like... well QOS when they beat us 5-2.
  13. I think oor owners would take significant action if 'doing a Falkirk' was looking possible. We're no there yet. I just don't think they have a solution right now for how to make us top four contenders. I'm sure they feel there's time tae try and find an answer. I don't think they'd gi'e PG the push unless they were very confident in a replacement.
  14. Mibby been said but a dinny think oor new owners appreciate we're desp for achievement efter years in the doldrums. They may be here for the long haul but we've been haulin' for years; for them the haul's barely started - they may not feel the same sense of urgency. Maybe they're willing, for as long as it seems doable, tae settle for mere champs survival rather than pay off PG.
