  1. It’s noticeable from the above pictures that we were wearing white shorts with the home strip for both cup wins. As we were for both our other cup wins. if we want to win a domestic cup next season we obviously need to have white shorts. it might be different in Europe of course.
  2. That table corresponds roughly with the time we have been without Ryan Strain. No one who has filled in at RWB has come close to his ability and that’s been a huge weakness for us.
  3. I noticed Olusanya was playing on the left of the front three last night. I have thought for a while that would be his best position.
  4. If neither Strain nor Tanser are playing then using a wing back system doesn’t seem like the best idea.
  5. I think our squad is hard working, athletic and has a fair bit of pace but is lacking in guile going forward. I suspect McMenaman was meant to provide this and did so fairly well in the early part of the season. However he has either gone off the boil or the others have worked out how to keep him quite so we have become much more functional. We are still third but not playing as well as we did earlier in the season. I think we need some tweaks to try to stop us sliding down the league.
  6. I think the least worst option without a fit LWB would have been to play a back 4 with Taylor on the left and put McMenamin in his best position.
  7. I wonder if Robinson will last longer than Stubbs. If he does he has every chance of breaking the Jack Ross record of starting with 6 consecutive defeats
  8. It looked to me that we switched to a back four during the second half yesterday. I hope that’s a sign of things to come.
  9. We have conceded 20 goals in 9 away games. No wonder opposition fans like our style. We have scored 6 goals in 8 home games including failing to score in 4. No wonder our fans think we are dull to watch.
  10. I don’t think Jim will be in trouble by Xmas no matter what happens and I don’t think he should be. He could help things however by ditching the ridiculous back three system that he seems to have embraced with the zeal of a convert. Something that seems to get overlooked is the fact that our goals against is worse this season than ever before under Jim. I think this is down to the system rather than our defensive players not being good enough. Oddly enough the defensive record is worse away from home where although we are playing better and creating chances in most games we have also conceded 2 or more goals in 6 out of 8 games. We defend better at home but hardly create a chance let alone score and it is turgid to watch.
