A very enjoyable watch despite failing to capitalise, best we've played in a long time I reckon. Our fans throwing that much crap on the pitch really annoys me, besides being poor form it also harms our players as much as theirs having to navigate anything from lighters, flares to what looked like a ting thai caravan box.

The first penalty I can accept, the Boyle dive gets given if its a Celtic player but it was a Hibs player so fair enough, the final penalty though you'll need to explain to me why that's a stonewaller. I'm not particularly clued up on the rules so it's a genuine question.

Yeah without listening to the Ross one back today's interview did remind me of it. That said I'm really not in the mood for sacking the guy. Poor form in football can sometimes be arrested, by sometimes for a variety of factors it just continues on and on, regardless of manager. I'm not sure Foley will think this as he prepares to inject money into the club but I'd really prefer if we just toughed it out with Montgomery. I point to Robinson as a manager who came in mid season and managed to piss off a near majority of St Mirren fans. However the board stuck with him and they're now reaping the rewards. Might be that Montgomery is shite, but given we've employed a rookie manager we don't really know that until we give him a proper go, that means until next January minimum. I'd be very surprised if he gets that time, but it'd be nice to see the club have the courage of their convictions and not piss themselves whenever things go awry.

Can you elaborate on this a little? Just curious really, hadn't heard anything about the players being against Jack Ross.

I thought the idea was that he buys part of the club and has an agreement with the Gordons about Hibs' role in the footballing organisation. Then he can buy players in from outside the organisation, and if they're not ready for Premier League level yet for whatever reason, be that language, ability, fitness or visa issues (As far as I'm aware Scotland is slightly more lenient in this regard? I read it on the internet so possibly BS) they can come to Hibs for a year or two. Now that itself doesn't sound 'amazing', but I'd wager that in order to make that experience worthwhile he'll be looking to bolster Hibs' 'permanent' playing staff so that these new folks are coming into something that's worth their time. It's not the ideal situation at present, but it does sound slightly more promising than what we've been offered up over the last few years. At the very least I expect a positive impact to materialise more quickly than it did with the Gordons. They did many great things for the club in areas they had some expertise, but it was fairly clear that they were learning on the job when it came to the football side. These Black Knight chaps seem to have both a fair bit more experience in that regard and also a structure in place that can help Hibs from the off. The quality, calibre and number of signings thus far in January has been appealing, albeit we've only seen them in limited amounts. Whether the likes of Luke Amos and Maolida were planned beforehand by McDermott, well who can say, but it's a fair certainty that these Bournemouth players wouldn't be seen up here otherwise. I think any issue I have with anything that's been said here thus far is that we simply don't know how this will pan out, it's a venture into the unknown. People said the same about the Gordons when they arrived and whilst we've not had much success since then it can't be argued that they didn't have the clubs best interests at heart, even if they made blunders along the way.

I'm looking forward to this, not in expectation but at-least we'll see the new players against a team that isn't Rangers and hopefully that gives us a better perspective on what they can do, hopefully bringing out a better side to some of those we already have.

He's had 3 spells as Hibs interim boss, the first and last were brief but good, the one in between was his longest and also his poorest. I think he'll be a decent coach or manager based on what I've seen though, Ayr seems a good opportunity too.
