  1. Don’t disagree but unless there is someone who wants to take over and has a shed load of money they are happy to write off by putting into the club then won’t happen Are you ready to put yourself forward to join the board? It all very easy to say “sack the board” but unless there is a group who 1. have the clubs interest at heart 2. who have significant money to invest 3. Have the necessary skills and time to implement their vision We would be in a worse position (yeah know hard to believe but would be true) if the board just all resigned en masse
  2. This is the crux of the problem 1. Chairman is obviously a fan and puts in hours for no financial recompense and plenty of abuse. However he is effectively an administrator that cant really change the needle on things 2. We don’t need administrators, accountants, pen pushers, marketers. What we need is someone with lots of cold hard cash who isn’t bothered about losing it and is a Clyde fan. Unfortunately if that person was out there I think they would have stepped forward by now
  3. Who I would keep Mullen Sula McLean Roberts Grant Cuddihy Salkeld Duthie Then we need to keep as signed for next year Hynes (rather not keep) Doherty (rather not keep) Rennie That 11 players. Would look to sign 5 others then get 5 youngsters on loan from SPL teams to fill out the squad.
  4. See we have 5 on the bench whereas EF have 9 Could be the difference as they can change half their team if they want in 2nd half
  5. My take on things 1. If there was someone with money to invest over the long term who was willing to do so then i am sure they would have stepped forward by now. I am also sure that everyone on the board would resign if it was in the best interest of the club if someone with money to invest wanted that. 2. Teams above us in the league critically own their ground and rent it out on a daily basis whether than be the pitch for games, generating money from advertising boards or having rooms or other facilities they can rent out. Our only money generating activity is on match days with about 50 people in the lounge bar before the game generating probably a couple of £00 per game. 3. Not surprised the guy from Homesbook is looking to leave. He has ties with cumbernauld area so advertising a team based in Hamilton isnt in his interest. He would be better sponsoring the cumbernauld colts. 4. I would be surprised if there is anyone with the necessary skills who are willing to step up and take a place on the board. I would never be interested in a place on the board despite being a qualified person to offers services that would benefit the club as wouldnt want the hassle. 5. Anyone interested in investing in a football club looking for a return can forget it. You have got to be prepared to accept you will be throwing money down the drain. The only person can ever remember making money on their investment was Fergus McCann but he got got Celtic when the bank was ready to close them and they had and always will have a fan base of 100k+ in the west of scotland. We are lucky if we have a fan base of 500. 6. Reality is that support has dwindled over the 40 years since leaving Shawfield. Many who I remembered going to Shawfield as a boy are still going however they are 40 years older and many since have died. Without your own home you wont build a fan base and there is no hope of building any additional support at hamilton (even if we had a decent team which we dont). There was a chance when at Cumbernauld but for whatever reason that never materialised beyond the first half dozen games or so when we moved to Broadwood. 7. If the board resigned en masse then fair enough. But there has to be others waiting in the wings to replace them who want to do so and can do a better job. I dont think that there is 8. If crownpoint fails we are f#####. Without a home the club will eventually fall into the lowland league within 5 - 10 years (maybe sooner as just needs a poor season in L2 then that you gone). None of the teams that have went down from L2 yet have come back up; East Stirling, Berwick Rangers, Brechin City, Cowdenbeath. We basically have similar fanbases to these clubs and entirely possible we will end up like them. Teams such as ourselves; albion rovers, stranraer, stenhousemuir, forfar etc will one by one drop out of the league to be replaced by clubs with inherently bigger fanbases. As said, just my take on things.
  6. I can’t even work out what he was trying to do Certainly not a back pass as nowhere near Parry Certainly not playing it out for a corner as no where near knocking it past the post Knew there was no one behind him as he looks over shoulder running into the box Only he can say what he was trying to do but doubt he can explain The reaction from the rest of the team sums it up Got to go down as one of the worst OG ever seen
  7. It a difficult one for the family of Scullion They are obviously their to support him and will rightly take it personally at any personal comments directed at him Unfortunately for them he is one of the worst ever players I have seen in a Clyde shirt and if comments from others are to be believed about his own goal it is an absolute classic that will be remembered for years to come - so it only natural he will be the target for abuse. Personally if i was Duffy I would pull him aside and see if he just wanted his contract torn up and let him go his way However Duffy may be intentionally playing him to say to the board “….look at the absolute s**** that I have to deal with
  8. You would have thought the way the players celebrated today we had just moved into 1st place in the league Poor game between easily the two worst teams in the league How Peterhead didn’t score 2 or 3 today was beyond me Clear Cuddihy must have been on the bevvy last night as he was absolutely rotten and surprise he wasn’t subbed before he was As others have said thought McGeever was lucky with his two footed lunge in the first half. From my viewpoint I thought was both a red card and a penalty Hopefully we can put together a run of results ahead of play off games but don’t really see it against other teams in the league
  9. What would you think would be a decent fee for Allan? I would say £20k but given it Falkirk expect it is closer to £5k given their best offer last year for DGW was £30k
  10. I stay 10 mins from TFS. But never had any intention going yesterday as there is no enjoyment watching your team getting humped week in week out. (Though was at the other game a few years ago) Dont know if can be bothered going to home games any more as more of a 30-40 min journey (and that is from a club exec member) as we are just dull to watch. Football is meant to be an entertainment but there has been no entertainment since promotion (DGW aside) and certainly been none this season Come to think of it I haven’t seen us win this season as missed games v QOS, Kelty, the welsh pub team and Elgin
  11. Understand it was 3rd party investor that paid said certain former player and when he left the investment was withdrawn
  12. Good shout I would give 11 top amateur players a shot til end of season
  13. Forget finishing above 9th. We are 16 points adrift which means we need to win 6 games more than QOS with 16 games to go which ain’t going to happen. We aren’t even going to win 6 games the rest of season. Nothing to indicate otherwise Don’t know what the plan is going forward but would definitely consider binning Duffy as clearly not working and try someone/anyone else Based on finances and crowds we are a L2 team punching above our weight. Based on squad we are LL side which we will likely be within the next 3 years unless something dramatically changes
  14. Yeah you are living in fantasy land No one will take any those players because they are they are the poor players in an overall poor squad Dont expect to see many changes this month other than maybe one in to replace Gomis
  15. We have been on the slide since the promotion season and got worse and worse each year This season we don’t have DGW to mask how bad the rest the squad is by baling us out of games single handed Unfortunately we have a squad this year that when released at the end of the season most will end up at LL level at best
  16. It Clyde FC we are talking about If anyone can make a dogs dinner of it we will Just can’t see the council give the keys over to us
  17. We are hoping of the fantasy of getting the gig at Crownpoint and moving there in next 3-5 year However when that inevitably goes tits-up there is no plan B (as admitted at the recent supporters meeting) so basically we are f43£Ed and will end up in the LL in the next 5 years (as with no home, a dwindling aging fanbase, and no way to grow the fanbase) then that the logical conclusion unless some Clyde fan wins the EuroMillions
  18. Hardly likely JT would be out and about selling sponsorship/commercial stuff day in day out It was a non paid position which is probably why he packed it in Something like this has to be a paid position or at least a commission paid job to incentive someone to get out there and generate income But it in all honesty be a hard gig selling anything related to Clyde at the moment
  19. Not an inspiring appointment but then again not unexpected Personally I would have went with someone from a lower league team who has punched above their weight looking to get into the seniors or someone totally new to management with some fresh ideas Reality is with Lennon or Duffy we are 9th or 10th but could maybe, just a slim maybe mind you, done better with a fresh approach. Guess the board are hoping Duffy can get us 9th and somehow be able to navigate through the play offs.
  20. I would say that even big Rob was better than Cameron - and that’s saying something The only player I can think of that is as bad as him was a guy that think played in the 90s in midfield called Francis O’Hara. He was absolute s#|+<
  21. Totally agree At the start of the season thought he might have something about him but have to say he is one of the worst players in a Clyde shirt have ever seen Can’t beat a man Cant find a pass going forward No physical presence and always just brushed of the ball No defensive qualities No understanding of the game (at one point the 2nd half he was standing next to Roberts who was screaming at him to make a run down the wing so he had a pass) Goodness knows why he has made so many starts
  22. Think Moore was playing for the draw to end the run of straight defeats Guess he didn’t want to upset things while we were level but personally I would have had McDonald and Allan on at the 60 minute mark to get some fresh legs on the pitch
  23. Totally agree. Can’t fault the players for effort but they just aren’t of the required quality Middle to front we have no creativity 1. Gomis - was a good player but was done 3 years ago 2. Cameron - never will be a player at this level. Has no impact whatsoever on a game 3. Scullion - runs about but nothing comes from him 4. Ray Grant - best player we have but doesn’t offer anything from a creative viewpoint. Needs better players around him 5. Cunningham - runs about but no end product. Had a chance from about 10 yards but scuffed his shot - sums him up. Don’t know why he takes the free kicks. They either hit the wall or are over the bar 6. Roberts - runs about but no end product Thought Allan and McDonald showed up well for their 5-10 mins on the pitch but both should have been on much sooner
