  1. Tonight should be a cracker, I expect the same lineup as Sundays game, unless injuries and from there no idea who we have on the bench that will be close to whoever is out. This is our biggest game of the season, if we lose I want Murray and his yes men out before end of the year. That is how big this game is for us, I hope we win but if not then there are plenty coaches out there who would walk over the proverbial broken glass for the Airdrie job.
  2. Looking forward to the game as I expect this could be the last for sometime as I sense a lockdown coming. Hopefully we can get 3 points as we need to keep on the coattails but I was talking to a boy in Baynes yesterday and he said we have 9 players who have trained. The rest who are missing or on the bench are not fit or are struggling. He was mentioning names so seemed to be in the know but I will not name them since it could be rubbish. I hope the boy is 200% wrong but he seemed genuine which worries me. Clyde are a funny team, sometimes look really good, other times rubbish so will be interesting which 1 turns up
  3. I agree with everything you said, I heard the full back is Jamie Brandon, seemingly can play RB and LB, not sure if correct. We are a centre half, left back and striker away from being right up there again end of the season. Although I would love a Kyle Turner type player in January if possible, he added not only skills but alot of aggression and fire (drop Frizell or Easton as cant play them both and win this league) along with Paton and we won some games ugly and will need that again. We will not win every game playing silky fitba. Outgoing I am sure there must be 4 or 5 of them wanting away (McDonald, Ritchie, Caves, Allan, Walker) as they are young and need to be playing games. Sitting on our bench is not good for their development. Question I have is can we afford to let them go, if we did can we recruit 4-5-6 players in such a short window. Will be interesting to see what happens. I know for 1 of the boys I mentioned Alloa want to sign him if he can get away (according to his uncle at the Falkirk away game) in January. When you look at the stats for them they are surprisingly good, McDonlad, Ritchie, Walker, when they have started over last and this season we have won the games. I was shocked to find this when checking these 3 out, Allan we have not seen anything of since he came back (huffs and puffs) and Caves I think needs to be back at U18s or drop down to league 2 for games. 1 question I keep coming back to is our coaching, is Murray on his own good enough, are Prunty or Agnew good enough assistant coaches to make the right decisions to get us out the league. Even if we have the squad I am not sure these 3 are good enough.
  4. We do not have enough options but I would go with the following, was not Agnew biggest fan but he was best player on park few weeks ago and looked fitter than from start of season. 4-1-3-2 setup: Currie Watson Fordyce McCabe Quitongo Agnew S Mcgill - Frizell or Easton - Mcinroy Gallagher G McGill
  5. What worries me is that Frizell and Easton are very tidy, skillful and good to watch but over the season so far they have not done enough in terms of goals or assists. Plenty footwork but often no end product. Now going into winter having those 2 in the team next few months is going to be a liability. I go back to last season at Clyde and Dumbarton away, 6 points but we created zero but battled like hell and won at any cost in bad weather. Now we have Queens Park and if we lose this then goodbye winning the league. I hope Murray gets the selection right and he sees that playing those 2 over the winter from the start we are in trouble.
  6. I will take an Airdrie win of any kind, ugly as sin I do not care. Hopefully we get the first goal then Murray has the brains to shut up shop with 20-30 minutes to go and we defend for our lives. I seen him saying in pre match interview we tired in the last game but to be honest our forwards and especially midfield have been run ragged last 20 minutes of every game. Huge game tomorrow, if we lose then Tuesday's game against Alloa will define our season. Looking forward to a terrible game but a win, similar to Dumbarton away last season.
  7. Overall we were not good enough to beat Queens Park reserves at home, spin it any way you want but if we don’t win our next league game then we are in trouble. Hate being negative, been at every game this season so here is my take so far. Currie solid, Fordyce and Watson solid, as long as we have Wardrop or Walker at right back we will not progress. Rico on the other side is not much better, teams will look to expose our full backs week in week out. Midfield – McCabe solid, Frizell and Easton flatter to deceive, tidy on he ball but how much do they create that hurts teams? In the last 20 minutes of games they both disappear and we get overrun, last season we overran teams in the final 20 minutes, were almost impossible to score against and closed out games. I would rather have players who put the foot in and even if ugly we win games. Agnew it is time to hang up the boots and just help Murray on the side, he was on for 20 minutes and looked goosed after 10 minutes. Forwards – We are fine here and when all fit we will get goals from Gallagher, Salim, Smith How Murray can stand there and not see how weak we are in full back, how bad we are in final 20 minutes and cant close out games is beyond me. I think he will get fired if we dont start winning and I'd take winning ugly right now than trying to play through teams.
  8. Was a great performance except for Sam at right back, then the youngster McDonald struggled just as Sam did when he came on. Apart from right back (and possible left back) we looked excellent and I would be happy with that team moving forward. Got my wish that Agnew was standing beside Murray and I hope he remains there, at half time when he came out he burst into a jog to get to the dug out and looked like he could barely run. Sam was naive, stupid to tackle, dive or not he should just have stood up as the guy was going nowhere, he had a few fouls before that despite being on a yellow and to do what he done was clueless. After he got sent off we done well until the subs came on, I can not understand what Murray was trying to achieve. When they got the 1st goal I feared the worst. Now onto Falkirk who's 2 best players are their wingers Morrison and Nesbitt, our worst 2 positions are our right back and left back so I hope we do have the Indian sign over them otherwise we could get beat, 1 point from 9 for a full time team is close to "sack the manager" territory. Let's hope we beat them by scoring more than we lose.
  9. Do not know what age you are but I am 51 and could beat Agnew in a race and run further than he can. He should be nowhere near the starting 11, legs are gone, looks like he is knackered after the warm ups. Play McCabe sitting and 3 ahead of him with legs and guile, then 2 strikers to get on the end of chances. We need to win tomorrow or the game next week against Falkirk is do or die.
  10. Wardrop been struggling since the first game at Cumbernauld, Quitongo had a good game against Motherwell but the rest not, Frizzell, Easton I think will be great when they get games, Gallagher needs crosses into the box and he will score, Agnew for me is the team's liability, simply adds nothing to the team and is worst player on our books, Murray deserves time and I am sure he will get it right but he needs to make some big decisions especially regarding Agnew
  11. Said it since the 1st and 2nd games in the Cumbernauld tournament that Agnew is a liability. He brings absolutely nothing to the team, like a statue in the middle. Plays the odd set piece and even then delivery is so so. He should be nowhere near the starting 11 as his legs are gone. East Fife fans were saying this last season and they are so right he can not run the length of himself. Back 5 today were shocking and not good enough, front 2 don’t look like scoring. Murray needs to get it sorted pronto or he will be under pressure.
  12. We started quite well but often were too slow to pass the ball and we gave them time to get behind the ball and defend. We are still not a team and will take time to develop so I am ok with that. Second half they could have scored 3-4 goals and that was not expected. Some of the new signings looked good, the young defender was shaky at times and took too long to pass and then turned backwards, again for me biggest disappointment was Agnew, not sure at all where he was playing or what his role is. Legs look like they have gone, I hope it is just a case of needs more games. Result was poor but I am happy to give Murray a pass since it will take some games to be upto speed.
  13. Was good to be at games on Saturday and Sunday, can honestly say I never realised how much I missed it. In both games I thought we were shocking, especially Saturday. We won the game but if we lost I would have had no complaints. Sunday we were shocking defensively and lost poor goals. The biggest surprise for me was how bad Agnew looked, I expected much more from him. On Saturday looked miles of the pace and on Sunday he basically stood in front of the defence and never moved, meaning the youngsters McDonald and Ritchie were chasing shadows as at times was 4 against those 2. I noticed he was helping Murray in the dugout when subbed, he might end up their permanently if those performances is what we can expect. From the trialists the left centre back and striker who played second half from Sunday looked the best, I am sure we will sign them. Going into the season I am happy with the squad except for Agnew and we need a striker since Allan is not upto it at this level.
