  1. Agreed. Henderson in for Tait and Mackie on at the back for me.
  2. Not going to blame Mackie for the tackle, he had to do it or Burrell was through. Donaldson tried to win the header and lost it so was out of position. Henderson then tried to make the tackle and missed it. Maybe look at the two attempted efforts before it took Mackie to clean him out.
  3. I have to echo the comments of @BPM in fairness. If that was a boxing match it would have been stopped. Said it before but Dylan Tait is a top drawer footballer, he’s technically outstanding. Defensively we coped excellently without Lang and I thought Mackie had another really good game just like he did against Montrose. Great bloody win and shout out to all those who travelled up!
  4. I get that however with the run of three away games coming up it would have been nice to win a game that 99.9% of most would have expected us to win just to keep the gap as it is or even better.
  5. So that means we should accept a home draw against Annan because they managed to beat Hamilton, especially with our form this season?
  6. Let’s focus on Tuesday, a difficult game up there nevertheless the run they might be on. They had 5 players on the bench yesterday and Ola was one so he won’t be in the squad on Tuesday. I’d like to see us line up : Hogarth (I know it will be Long) Yeats Donaldson Lang McCann Spencer Henderson Morrison Agyeman Miller MacIver If Morrison is injured, Alfie to the right and Nesbitt in the 10. Thought Nesbitt had a poor game yesterday. Agyeman caused them all sorts of problems in the 10 up there the last time when he was eventually moved there.
  7. I actually disagree about the keepers, I think there is a difference. I was in the camp earlier in the season about both being around the same level but I totally disagree now. Sam Long is too small. Yesterday wasn’t the first time either. The first Bonnyrigg goal he comes charging out and gets nothing and they score. Both Dundee United goals go above his head. Edinburgh city he flapped at their two goals and then yesterday. From memory I think Hogarth has cost us two goals, will stand corrected, home to Edinburgh and away at Accies. Hogarth at least has the frame to develop whilst the fact he is actually our goalkeeper to develop. In essence, Long seems to concede more mistakes and cost us more goals than Hogarth.
  8. It should have been in Long’s favour simply because we all know how protected the keepers are. He should have came out and absolutely clattered that boy whilst getting a much harder bit of contact with the ball. It’s not the first time this has happened with him either. Edinburgh, Bonnyrigg and Dundee United come to mind.
  9. It did. We’re in the 4th minute of stoppage time with about 20 seconds left of the game. Just take what you’ve got and move on. We had our goal and clean sheet and that should have been that. However, when you have a 5 ft odd goalkeeper, a complete lump into the box becomes a nightmare and the keeper ends up getting bullied. Watching it back it’s in the air for ages so it gives him time to get momentum in his jump and he still doesn’t get up high enough to get a decent punch on it.
  10. To me, it sounds like it was a deal either to Long or to Lincoln to do it month about. McGlynn is a man of his word or so it seems so he won’t back track on the agreement now even if the window is shut. What other team do you know or have known to change keeper every month? There is just no reason for it. Pick one and stick with him until he’s poor/injured/suspended and it was Hogarth at that particular time.
  11. Well there it is McGlynn admitting that if he didn’t put Long back in goals in January he would have been recalled. He came back in when Nicky had recorded back to back clean sheets. Our team selection being dictated by other clubs is not on IMO. We could have had that young boy on the bench we have and just played Hogarth if that was the case.
  12. Plenty of room for draws , I agree with you but not a home game v Annan when we have away games to Cove and Dumfries coming up.
  13. Hardly heads gone. That’s two bang average performances in a row. If it wasn’t for Hogarth’s big saves last week , we’d have drawn/lost that too. All it takes is for a couple of draws and Hamilton wins (like today ) and it’s opened up again. 3 away games in a row too to some difficult places.
  14. Who said I boo’d ? All I’m saying is folk are well within their right to boo that. Missed half chances yes, but created very few clear chances IMO. We looked leggy and tired which is a worry for the week coming up. Two bang average performances in a row. Play like that on Tuesday and we’ll struggle for maximum points.
  15. McGlynn is really starting to piss me off with this chopping and changing goalkeepers. Hogarth got MOTM last week from the supporters and then he’s dropped today. How many times does it take to see Long is far too small for a keeper? You knew what was happening when that ball was in the air. Doesn’t make up for the awful performance and I hope it’s a reminder that this league isn’t won yet. If it wasn’t for a huge error by their keeper we’d have lost that.
  16. Folk have every right to boo that performance. The keeper is dug meat and created very little against them. The last 10 minutes we couldn’t even pass it to each other. As Sir Alex once said “they get plenty praise, so they’ll get the criticism when they deserve it”.
  17. In my opinion, John McGlynn has saved our club. He had to get promoted this year, he was our last hope. The pressure on him and his staff to get us up was massive as we all knew the consequences if we were to stay in this league next season. No matter what happens this season, I will always hold JM and PS to the highest regard for saving us.
  18. As long as it’s not at queens as I’m missing that for a family party after the KO was changed
  19. Hogarth was excellent first half, then had nothing to do in the second. For me, Tait was my man of the match. An absolute joy to watch and never wasted a pass. I’d be getting him sorted for next season. You can tell he’s top class, he’s showed it any time he’s been on the pitch for us. Definitely should have won by more than a goal yesterday but we done enough.
  20. Not going to comment on the Morrison contract because everything that’s been said above covers it all What I will say is though I really hope we get Tait back next season. He looks a right baller who will keep getting better with age.
  21. Gary Oliver was excellent when he came on and deserved his goal. I actually thought Mackie was very good, as was Ross. Happy days!
  22. Very, very comfortable against a team that usually gives us a game. It really could have been 5 or 6 with the chances we created. Thought Mackie and Ross were very good, Mackie getting his assist and generally defended very well. Also, Oliver is technically a very good footballer. Some of his touches, passes and movement is outstanding. His goal just typified it. Really good win
  23. Really hope we get a big turn out on Tuesday. 14 points and it’s definitely curtains for me. 11 points as it stands yet I’m still no set on it being secure. Think the team will need our energy on Tuesday!
  24. MacIver is the striker we’ve been crying out for. Wins a lot of headers, brings others into play and holds the ball up pretty well. Fully deserved his man of the match today.
