  1. I was having a think watching the Elliot’s played of the year video on the Facebook page- but I’d argue that Stephen McGinn has been our most important signing in many a year. Not just for his playing efforts last year but in terms of his influence on the dressing room. Something we haven’t had since the McCracken/Kerr/Miller days etc. I really don’t think we can underestimate how big a help he has been this year in winning us the title, and that’s been from the changing room rather than the pitch. I wouldn’t mind keeping him in a player / coaching role (more so coach) he’s had that big an influence on us.
  2. Hopefully that’s the back of the heritage kit now. Last three performances in it have been average at best - Yesterday, Edinburgh away and Formartine in the cup.
  3. It does worry me that we’ll only have Mackie and Henderson for the rest of the season, especially up against Tommy Goss next week and an Annan team giving everything to avoid the play offs. One injury and we’ll have one available CB within a pairing who haven’t played much at CB this season.
  4. I don’t think that’s a red, I think it’s a yellow. He wins the ball clearly and then the boy goes into him. Do we just not want Donaldson to challenge? If he takes the man first then it’s a clear red. Didn’t even catch the boy in the face. Anyway, that was McCann’s worst game for us. Terrible goal, kept getting done with a long ball and terrible passes constantly but he’s allowed one bad game. Nesbitt was clear man of the match and the ref was horrendous.
  5. I’m not saying we wouldn’t have won the league without him, but it would be a lot more tighter without him. As a coach myself, I can see why McGlynn loves him as he brings so much to the team. Your average football fan won’t notice that work and impact he has without the ball, they’ll just look at the goal tally which is fine I’m not slating them but I bet if you ask Nesbitt, Miller, Ross and Morrison they’d all admit they wouldn’t have the amount of goals they do without MacIver.
  6. Yes it’s voted for by the rest of the league.
  7. You took the words out of my mouth. An absolutely outstanding goal and if Man City had done that against a Luton or what have you, we’d never hear the end of it. Some header too by big Ross.
  8. That was as easy as we’ll get. It was like playing a bang average mid table team never mind our nearest challenger. As others have said, Nesbitt was a 10/10. Totally unplayable and should have been man of the match. They are utter dog meat Imagine replacing Dylan Tait with Ben Williamson
  9. I think I’d be disappointed if we didn’t go unbeaten now considering the position we’ve played ourselves into. No club outside of the old firm has went a full season unbeaten, not in the 4 professional leagues anyway. That would be a monumental achievement, far greater than winning the league in a two hours race. Of course I wouldn’t be critical if we didn’t do it, but it’s a thing none of us will ever see again.
  10. The positive of this years POTY is that none of us can be wrong. Every player mentioned deserves it. I’ve been vocal of Donaldson and I’m probably biased as I sat with him and Hendo at the awards night last year. Two absolutely brilliant guys who love playing for us. As I say, they all deserve it.
  11. It’s surprising to me because he does put in some amount of crosses, most of them are either under hit or over hit so it’s definitely his weakness. That’s something he can work on though.
  12. Morrison only having 3 assists for a winger in this league is pretty poor, in fact it’s awful however he’s more than stepped up with his goals. Donaldson for me wins player of the year. Lead by example all season and I don’t think he’s made many if any mistakes, certainly none that’s led to goals, whereas Lang has led to two, although in fairness has been excellent as well.
  13. Oakley would be the perfect signing for the system we play. He can hold the ball up and he can put it away. Not to mention he has lots of experience playing in the premiership and the championship.
  14. Ross MacIver has been my favourite player this season. Not going to win player of the season or that but I really do think he’s underrated. His impact on the team is immense and I really enjoyed and appreciated the video by @BPM. Some of his goals are top class, and I was over the moon that he got his two goals on Saturday after a bit of a dry spell.
  15. What a day/night. I’ve never seen Falkirk win a title, in fact the only thing I’ve ever seen us win was a challenge cup funnily enough against Hamilton of all teams. Utter relief to be out this league but also a celebration at how well this team has done. To win any league at the rate we have is exceptional. We were on our arse two years ago finishing 6th. I’ll hold my hand up I thought we were gone as a club and certainly as a full time team. McGlynn has done a remarkable job and I thank him, Paul Smith and the players. I hope everyone enjoys tonight and the remaining 5 games. We all deserve it
  16. It shouldn’t matter what league a team is, it’s all about the individual’s influence and contribution to the team. Morrison has been our standout since signing with us. Scoring 50 goals as a winger too and he’s committed a large part of his career (so far) to us. He’s definitely up there now IMO.
  17. He summarised how we are all feeling. It’s been a long time coming
  18. I thought McGinn had a very decent game. Never wasted a ball first half and cut them open a good few times. Of course he can only last around 60 minutes but seems he’s quickly becoming a scapegoat as he’s not got the legs Spencer does.
  19. Should be 2-0 up. Morrison and MacIver missing sitters. Really can’t be missing them type of chances.
  20. One thing that will go our way next season is not many teams will sit in against us. The Dundee United game was proof that we can pick teams off when they come onto us.
  21. I see we have the Falkirk fan Gavin Duncan as ref tonight.
